I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at both kabukiran leisure farm and Casa Carmen during my visit to the Philippines. Both places really are unique and made my trip very memorable.
Although kabukiran leisure farm isn't a Beach front resort I would strongly urge visitors to Guimaras to choose this place over others. While it's nice to be on the beach the standard of rooms weren't up to much and the food choices in their cafes/restaurants are very limited. Kabukiran is a lovely farm house with tasteful interiors and extremely comfortable beds! Good quality bedding and towels and their own toiletries in the bathrooms. They also offer a mini van hire service which is a convenient and comfortable way to explore the island. Casa carmen is a really impressive antique looking house from which I understandis made from recycled materials. It really offers something different to the norm and made my visit to the Philippines all that more"authentic". Both of these have outdoor garden bathroom which were great to use and really added to the experience! I would highly recommend kabukiran resorts whether you're living in philippines and looking for a break, or if you're a first time visitor to the Philippines and really want an authentic experience away from the typical tourist traps. You won't regret it!

We stayed at Casa Carmen in Tagaytay with a group of friends attending a wedding and have to say it was a wonderful experience. All too often we travel to different countries and stay in the same type of locations. We actively went for something different this time and most definitely got that.
The grounds of this rustic retreat are beautifully presented, with individually designed and uniquely presented traditional filipino accommodation. The rooms are comfortable and the staff at the Chateau Hestia Garden Restaurant were more than accommodating for the large group (10+) that we had across the site.
Casa Carmen is a gem amongst the site, with defining details in the craftsmanship and finishing of the traditional filipino construction making for a truly idyllic and tranquil stay. Warm, and with a "home away from home" feeling, this was most definitely more the typical bed and breakfast experience. A stay here and you benefit from the "no stone left unturned" attention to detail. The outdoor shower is particularly impressive in both setting and construction - which I understand was from the mast head of a salvaged ship!!! Incredible.
Breakfast and dinner are both excellent, with more than enough food and staff that are friendly and efficient.
If you are looking for a unique experience in a beautiful part of the country, then I couldn't recommend a stay at Casa Carmen highly enough. Make this a part of the itinerary - you will not regret the decision.

After searching for a decent place to stay in Guimaras we almost decided to bypass Guimaras altogether on our trip to Iloilo, as we just couldnt seem to find any decent accommodation on the island. There are surprisingly a lot of resorts to choose from in Guimaras, however, most of what we found either had very mixed and/or bad reviews or seemed a bit too basic for our tastes. We stumbled upon Kabukiran Leisure Farm and after communicating via email with them we decided to take the chance and stay.
We were very pleased with our choice! Kabukiran is actually a house situated within a farm. It is definitely a classic case of "you get what you pay for"...in the case of Kabukiran, while you may be paying a higher price compared to other places in Guimaras, you are most certainly getting your money's worth! The house has 3 bedrooms with AC so it is ideal for groups/families. The beds are extremely comfortable and have high quality bed linens. There is also satellite TV and wi-fi, both which work very well. We loved their open garden bathroom-very unique and great to use! The breakfast is amazing! very generous portions and a few different items to choose from...you have to order your items the night before so that they can cook it fresh for you in the morning, but as there is a choice you dont have to have the same thing everyday. There aren't any restaurants near by so we opted for their dinner in the evening. The food was delicious-all home cooked and freshly prepared. all their ingredients are sourced locally-their vegetables were from their very own organic vegetable patch.
There are still some building projects taking place within the farm. They were close to completing a very large swimming pool when we were there. It was a shame it wasnt ready for use during our stay but it looks like it'll be great when finished!
I would recommend Kabukiran to anyone visiting Guimaras, particularly if you have higher standards when it comes to guest accommodation. It is not a beach front resort, but where it lacks in this regard, it makes up for with its beautiful garden,peaceful location, great service and very clean and comfortable house.

We made the right choice by booking our vacation at Kabukiran. For all of us, it was our first time in Guimaras and we were warmly welcomed by our hosts with their cozy place and delicious food. We slept and ate very well! We enjoyed the farm very much, it was a much needed escape from city living. Guests should make full use of the open shower, it's an invigorating experience! For future guests who wish to go to the beach and island hop, best to start early and set aside a whole day for this since it's over an hour to get to the beach and another hour or so to get back. Make sure to eat as many mangoes as you can, Guimaras mangoes are truly the best in the world!

My family and I stayed at Casa Carmen for an overnight trip, and it was a lovely experience. The casa was very comfortable, artfully designed, and greatly conducive to relaxation. It was like living in a throwback to the olden times of the PH. The hosts were wonderful and were attentive to all our needs. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay here again!

Our family stayed here for our weekend in Guimaras. Our host was very gracious and helpful. We had our meals cooked by the help staying at the resort. The house has three rooms so there was ample space for us. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and our little boy especially liked the hammock in the garden. Please note, though, that this resort is not centrally located. It's a bit far from the port and the jump-off point for the island hopping. You need to rent a van or multicab to get around. There is also no back-up generator so when there's a blackout there's no air conditioning. We wanted our son to experience provincial living so we were happy with our stay here. An overnight stay would be good enough.

Blackouts in Guimaras, while not uncommon, have been less and less frequent over the years. Services on the island are improving, and In more recent years the longest we have experienced one has been about 30 minutes on average. Therefore, not only was it unfortunate that you had to endure this during your stay but very unusual that it had lasted for so long! However, as we gradually take more and more bookings we are looking into viable ways in which we can overcome this, in the event that it might happen again. Although Kabukiran is located in one of the more rural parts of the island, it's worth noting to future travelers that even if they were to stay in the Jordan area, they would probably find that the hire of a multicab, van or even tricycle would still be necessary in getting to and from the wharf and the various attractions they might want to see. As there is no real structured public transport system in Guimaras, tricycle or vehicle hire is the most common and convenient way of getting around. Furthermore, the area in which we are located has some lesser known, but noteworthy places of interest worth visiting. Our location is ideal for travelers who are perhaps staying in Guimaras for 2-3 nights and really want to explore the island off the usual beaten track. We always try to give potential guests accurate information in regards to where we are located and distances from areas they might want to visit. We are glad that your overall experience was a positive one and that you were pleased with your stay. It was such a pleasure having you stay with us and we hope that you will visit us again if you ever come back to Guimaras in the future!

I stayed at Casa Carmen April 2016. It is a Bed and Breakfast accommodation. located to give easy access to many of the local amenities and attractions, including Taal Volcano and Tagaytay City. It is set in the grounds of Chateau Hestia . It is a charming location offering an eclectic mix of Eastern culture with a Western influence, and beautifully reclaims the rustic charm of The Philippines providing a modern comfortable and unique holiday experience. The house itself is built to a very high standard based on a traditional design using reclaimed materials many of which retain their original features. The standard of fixtures and fittings is also excellent, and are comparable with many 4 and 5 star hotels. Case Carmen and Garden Cottage are both set in beautiful gardens surrounded by stunning tropical forests. The gardens are well manicured and are a delight to wander through. There are many hidden treasure to find amongst the beautiful shrubs and plants. Look out for a number of Welsh Dragons and a Tudor Rose design stamping their very British mark on this otherwise Far Eastern holiday home. A Beautiful to forget the worries and pace of modern day life without giving up too many creature comforts. I would definitely return.

Kabukiran Leisure Farm currently consists of a farm house converted to offer suite-like accommodation exclusive to one party of guests at any given. We can accommodate a maximum of 6 pax across 3 bedrooms. Amenities include living room with satellite TV &DVD player, mini bar, outdoor terrace and luxury swimming pool. We are located in Barangay Suclaran, San Lorenzo, Guimaras. From Iloilo you can take a boat over to Guimaras which is approximately a 15 minutes journey. You can depart from either Ortiz Wharf which will take you to Jordan, Guimaras; or you can depart from Parola Wharf which will take you to Buenavista, Guimaras. Our place is approximately a 30 minutes journey from either arrival point in Guimaras.
