The staff were very friendly. The food was good and had generous proportions. The location was ok. Nice view. The rooms were basic but ok. If you were just at a 5* this might seem rough, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. It seemed safe.
I travelled by my motorbike and stayed alone at the hotel - I can not describe the way I was served; the smiles of the lovely Filipino couple, that take care of the place (owners were not present) and their kids; the care they showed to tell me where to go around; the breakfast I had facing the sunrise... they even covered my motorbike with a towel to protect it from the morning dew. The hotel is situated at the sea shore, but do not expect to find a beach there. However several kilometers away one can find any type of beach he/she likes. For me personally it does not matter as beaches here, in the Philippines are just everywhere - it was about the human touch and the place...
Olana is much more than a B&B, this is a small family owned hotel with all the services you need for a perfect week end stay. Arrived from Manila after midnight, still we were welcomed by the managers and the owner. And that is typically for the service here at Olana, they will do their very best to make your stay as good as possible. We also had our dinners at Olana, fantastic seafood Italian style prepared by the owner. In addition the ocean view is amazing, the rooms are nice and clean, internet is working well. When coming back to this area we will definitely choose Olana for our stay.
A place away from Home❤️It’s an amazing place where you can unwind and be surrounded with beautiful nature. Lovely owner too😍 We’ll surely come back to this beautiful resort! I highly recommend if you want a peaceful and privacy.
The couple were nice, plus the breakfast is great (i specifically loved the fruits, we were served watermelons and dragonfruit). Just a bit disappointed when Ms. Angie’s husband asked her if we already paid our balance which is just 200 pesos (for my niece’s breakfast) i think. I think he tried to whisper but i already heard it, don’t get me wrong i don’t mind paying but if you’re gonna let your guests hear it then the disappointment will really be inevitable. Also we went out to explore the place, when we came back, we rang the doorbell, we texted and called Angie, but we waited for several minutes before the gate was opened. Maybe our timing was really bad since the helpers were on leave at that time.. Nonetheless couple were nice, they recommended a place where we can eat and they were right, food was great plus the view makes it more relaxing. Not that bad for a b&b but if i can choose, i will stay in a boutique hotel rather. …
Small and inexpensive lodge type B&B. Do not expect anything luxurious or fancy, just enjoy the tranquillity and the hospitality of the very nice and accomodating care takers. You can order a special meal in advance if you wish so. The place lays in front of a shallow water beach but it is very close to a larger sandy beach where you can board boats and ride in 20 minutes to a very nice island equipped with shades and convenient lodges for a great day of sum and swim. Olana is also a 30 min drive away from Hundred Island boarding pier. Just be sure to go there early in the morning since they adopted a limited number of tourists per day to limit environmental damage to the scenic spot. In the weekend it gets crowded at dusk and gets worse soon. We also drove to Bolinao and back in the same day. Patar beach is awesome although water is indeed shallow most of the time. Olana's facilities will be refurbished soon according to the new owner and probably the current price, very low, might be going up a notch.…
It was a great and memorable experience having to stay here for 3 days. Doug and Angie are very hospitable and accommodating couple, they showed us their wonderful garden full of well maintained flowers and trees plus the fantastic views as well as the places we should visit. A very peaceful place to recharge the soul and having to enjoy a very sumptuous breakfast while in full view of a very beautiful sunrise. My family indeed enjoyed our stay here. Thank you very much to Doug, Angie and their staff. We will surely visit you sometime again when we need our tech-detox and enjoy the pleasure of having to talk with you guys about the simple and laid back life. God bless you all.
Olana. Where to start about this bed and breakfast. Like the title says. Heaven on earth.I could tell about the beautiful sights The Philippines have to offer, but sights are not alone needed for a place like heaven. Its te people who make a place even more beautiful and who can give you the time of your life. It all started when I contacted the owners Doug and Angie. Because of my personal journey ( Reunion with my biological family after 25 years) I needed a place, where I could lay myself to rest when the journey would be as amazing as emotional as well. I didnt need a big fancy hotel but just a place where there would be a calm environment, no haist or other distractions. From the moment Dough and Angie responded to me they were very honest about their bed and breakfast. They told me this was not a big fancy hotel with no karaoke et cetera.. but they even mentioned the hotels which had more amusement if needed. Not only that but also the way they thought thinks trough with me and my family, even before I did go to The Philippines. That feeling to be welcome and not knowing much about the country and my birthplace they could already tell me where to go and what to do in order when I would arrive. They gave me so much trust in them and their bed and breakfast even when they do not know you in person but only by e-mail. When we arrived they Doug welcomed as, and immediatly showed us the way around in their bed and breakfast. But what is to admire is that they keep count with every guest there is. Not only Doug and Angie but Also their employees Reynold and Naomi, will make sure you wont come short anything. If it is day or in the midlle of the night, someone always was walking around to guide you but also talk with you about the day or answer your questions. One day Doug and Angie took us into the city Lingayen. Just in their car..to show us where we could find an atm and other local things to see. That kindness is more than being a hotel host. They became friends. Everyday a delicious breakfast in traditional philippines food or western style. With fresh fruits and drinks. Never one complaint to work again, but working with a heart full of love. They supported me in my emotional journey just to hang around and talk with me about my family et cetera. It was this compassion they share with everyone which makes me say this place is a little bit of what I might hope heavens looks like. Also the bedrooms where really neat. They always asked us when to clean or if we need extras. Its one thing to be a bed and breakfast where you want to provide in good food, hygiene and comfort, but its a whole other level when the staff can be personal with you and there is a trust in one another. They once arranged a bus for my family 1 night before I wanted to go on a trip and still they managed to arrange this for me and helped me with the busdrivers locations et cetera. Its needless to say, I had the time of my life with finding my family, but therefore It was and is very important to have a place where I could withdraw myself from all the hectic moments. Therefore I want to thank Doug, Angie, Reynold, Naomi for being a blessing in my journey in their bed and breakfast. Mahal Kita from Joreme…
A very nice place to stay specially if your tour is at Hundred Islands. The property is a beach front and facing the Baguio City. The dinner that were serve to us by Angie (one of the owners) are very delicious. Doug is very accommodating. He gave us a little history of the place and I was so amazed on how he explains my country's history. Kudos to you Doug! The couple is very hands on with their guests and made sure that they addressed the geust's needs. Keep it up guys!!!
My family and I had a wonderful stay on this simple but a hidden gem in Labarador Pangasinan. It is near Hundred Islands National Park and is also just an hour and a half drive going to Bolinao. The place is clean, a perfect view of the sea and well organized. Reynold and Noymi was very attentive and accommodating to our needs. Food was excellent! The owner, Douglas, was very nice to give us advises and guide on what places we must see. They even let us borrow their cooler! It was a perfect stay to rest after a long tiring trip! Will surely recommend this place for everyone 😁
