Haven1916 is home in the heart of Coron. Aside from the spacious rooms, high quality beds, beautiful interiors and strategic location in the town proper, what I love most about it are the people running the bed and breakfast, the helpful staff and the gracious owners. My hearftfelt gratitude to the Cabial family and to Ms. Anne and Kuya Jun for the hospitality.
Compared to the price you pay: •Quality = 5⭐️(Booked via AGODA) •Breakfast = 5⭐️ (Filipino or American choice but I love our filipino breakfast which I opted for while my partner opted for American which also tasted good😋) •Rooms = 4⭐️(Bed was fine, Flatscreen TV + Aircon) •Bathroom = 3,5⭐️(Fine. Not spotless clean but it aint dirty neither and doesnt have a luxurious touch or color. They also have FREE SHAMPOO AND BODY SOAP in a gallon✨) •Wifi = 4⭐️(Available anywhere at a decent speed for social media, uploading or YT but not for heavy streams) •Location = 4⭐️(Elevated location where you can walk upwards for 5mins from the main street/center or take a tricycle for 10pesos/head?. There is a local sari-sari store nearby ~2mins walk and restaurants in about 5mins walk) •Sea View = 4⭐️ (on the topmost floor where Dining is located) •Trustworthy Staff = 💫 VERY HELPFUL! You can leave your things and expect your things to be safe. The staffs seem to really love their jobs and are really there to serve their guests ! There was a local water outage one day for a reason nobody knows and they brought us DISTILLED WATER on Gallons for us to wash ! When it rained, they lent us umbrellas and they always greet you ! I really loved their service and learned to appreciate them. If you feel the same, and you think you have the means to, i suggest you could give them from a few hundred pesos of tips or anything from your heart. After all, I really think that the price was a grab and the staff deserved to be complimented :) You can also ask kuya the cook to prepare you a meal like lunch or dinner for a very reasonable price ! They can run the errands for you on the local market nearby and cook the food but I went to buy on my own ingredients and kuya cooked it for me. I can’t exactly remember if he told me a price or just told me to give him a ‘tip’(fee) for the meal he prepared. I think I gave him 700php(i would like to give him 1000 but I was starting to ran out of budget) for the meal he prepared for my partner and I which wasn’t cheap but very slightly above reasonable compared to the price if we ate in restaurants. I really recommend the place ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 And for the STAFFS ates and kuyas thank you !…
Pros: Big and spacious rooms. The staff is very accommodating and helped us booked our island tour which we enjoyed so much. Breakfast is simple yet delicious. Nice view of the bay. Cons: Very poor internet connection. No water heater in the shower. Not sure if they have a back up generator. We didnt have electricity for 15-20 mins.
Stayed here for 3 nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed it - it's on the higher street and away from the commotion of the main one. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the room was spacious and cozy. You can go up to the classic Coron viewpoint for the sunset view - once step out of the hotel, make a left, and take the first street to the left - you won't be alone going there. Couple of things to improve is the Internet speed and the breakfast choice - for the drinks, you can only get one (either juice or instant coffee) which was a bit odd - why not just offer both? The tricycle from the ferry costs around 100 pesos and 150/person for the airport van.
Kind hosts, daily breakfast, clean room, AC. No internet, but the hotel has an amazing view of the city on the top deck. You can book tours through them as well. I enjoyed my stay. I recommend this location.
This hotel was clean and just what we needed for 3 nights. The staff were lovely, very attentive and helpful. They booked our transportation for us which was perfect. Quite a few ants, but having stayed in Asia the past few months, i haven’t found a place without them! The only issue was being woken up at 4.45am by a man shouting at a women, my partner went out of our room to see what was going on as it sounded physical. He couldn’t see anything, so this could have been either other hotel guests or staff I am not sure. But the ordeal left me feeling very uneasy as we were helpless. Overall a really great stay, thank you!
We were happy with our stay at haven. The room was a good size, breakfast was good and the staff at the front desk were always ready to help. The only downfall was the bathroom smell. We wondered why on the first day it smelt strongly of disinfectant only to realise that was masking the smell of the drain. However this wasn’t a massive issue as other than that there were no complaints. We would stay again as the location was perfect.
Great location and easy to find. Comfortable bed, hot shower with consistent water temperature and the AC cools the room quickly. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The only problem we had was that the bathroom/shower never dried out. We tried to use the towels a second day but were unable to because they did not dry (even with the window open). The exhaust fan was not working in the bathroom. The view from the rooftop is great. Breakfast was good and provided a good start to the day. If you need more, there are several bakeries down the hill. Jun and Ann provided teriffic service. To find the stairs to Mount Tapyas, turn left out of the hotel and take the first left. Very close by. When arriving at the fast ferry terminal, the trike fee should be around 35Php for the trip into town. Don't be surprised if they ask for 100+Php.…
We stayed a few weeks ago, it was a great base for island hopping around coron - just a short 5-10 minute walk down to the main Town and beach. The room was clean and had everything we needed. My only issue was being asked what I wanted for breakfast the day before! Then when going for breakfast we would sit down and quickly here the ping of the microwave heating up our food that had obviously been cooked before. We were even served it with the microwave cover over the food! I wouldn’t have minded if it was a huge breakfast but it was eggs or pancakes - it takes 2 minutes to cook these! So breakfast a massive disappointment in an otherwise good experience.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the 3nights at the end of April ‘18 and we wouldn’t recommend this place. We paid 45€ per night which is a lot for asian standards. In return we received a small basic room with mold in the bathroom and ants near the toilet and the breakfast was edible but not really good. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the place where you want to run backwards out of a room as soon as you have seen it, it is manageable for 3 nights. Nonetheless, I would have paid not more than 20€ per night. Our expectations were completely unfulfilled and we have seen far better places in the Phillipines for less money.
