I stayed here for two nights, and it is a pleasant hotel a short walk away from the town. I had made my booking on agoda and the room I had booked was not the room I was given at check in. It was a good size but it was dark, looked nothing like the room in the pictures I had booked and also the window looked out to a concrete wall part of a staircase which was horrible. No natural light whatsoever. I did bring this to the hotel staffs attention and they advised the room I had booked in the pictures was currently occupied. So they offered me an alternative but it was exactly the same as the room I had been given just smaller! So I opted to just stay in the room I had. The room did have bottled water available, and a safe, and there is also hot and cold water available for free for you to fill up at the bar area which is great. Apart from this room issue, the hotel was quite nice and almost like a little maze of cute little staircases across different levels. The pool area is nice with seating and deck chairs around it, I didn’t go in because it didn’t look that clean, there is a roof top area where you can relax and also the restaurant where I had both breakfast and dinner. The food was really nice, freshly made and tasted great. The views from the restaurant and roof top are gorgeous of coron island and the sea. Staff are helpful and friendly. I would stay here again but ensure I am given the room I booked. That was my only let down.

Clean, comfortable, friendly... huge bed, private room... views, nice pool, free hot and cold water, welcome drinks... I just wish that breakfast was included and that they didn't try to rip you off on the tour packages (which are significantly cheaper to book just down the road at any agency and they'll still pick you up from the hotel)

It was merely a 10 minutes ride via tricycle.
The hotel is situated on a hill, and check-in was easy. I am so grateful that we were upgraded to a superior room with 2 queen sized beds. The room was spacious and clean. AC was super cold, and the bathroom didn't have an odor. Wifi was steady and we were able to conduct a couple of virtual meetings.
They have a spa onsite which was php700 for an hour Swedish massage which was a bit pricier than others. We got one at php600 at a spa, like 2 minutes walking distance.
We can see the pool from our room and there was a huge balcony. Really enjoyed our stay and thank you for everything!

Location is great just a few minutes tricycle ride to the downtownt core hustle and bustle. There is a Sharky's restaurant across the street, live music okay food.
There are various sari-sari store options next door of the hotel. The rooms are very pleasant and spacious. All the staff were wonderful and genuinely happy to help any way they can to make your stay comfortable.
The honeymoon suite room was very nicw. Swimming pool never crowded had it to ourselves most of the time and it served its purpose. There are some stairs to walk up to the reception - rooms, but do not let that be a negative unless there are real mobility issues. Otherwise this is a very good choice place to stay in Coron and its is very affordable.

We stayed here for five days, and we only have good words for this place. Our room was the top most room and it was sooooo beautiful! The staff were also so kind and accommodating. The food was so cheap and delicious! My husband's favorite is their Calamares. He said he had never tasted any Calamares dish as good as the one in Bancuang mansion.

The pros: Good location. Big comfortable rooms but dated bathrooms. Friendly staff in the cafe.
The cons: What ruined the experience for us was the dishonesty we experienced. I paid half in cash half with my credit card so I can use up my remaining pesos. I counted the cash 5x in our room before I gave it to the front desk staff as payment. I have 3 family members who witnessed me counting the exact amount. I checked out, signed the bill and left in the van for the airport. They called the driver when we arrived at the airport more than 30 minutes later to ask him to collect 3,000 PHP from us because it was missing from the cash they have on hand. My mistake was I did not have them count out the money in front of me when I gave it to them. Because we were in a hurry and already running late since the van came late, I just gave the cash over to the driver. However, I am going to warn every single person I know who’s going to Coron and thinking of staying here, to beware of this kind of dishonesty that happened to us.

The decor is great, location is handy to most things with a short walk to shops etc. The stairs are a big issue, lots and lots of stairs so be careful.
Staff are friendly but there is lack of communication about breakfast and things in general. Not told when restaurant was closed due to function, told no breakfast only to walk down and others are having breakfast. Poll is great. Just the stairs....

Rather than begin at the beginning, I'll start this review at the end and simply say; overall, nice hotel with a couple of caveats, they are; Lots of stairs; The odd poor service issue (my potentially lethal bathroom); Busy Petron garage over the road which appeared to service all the local bikes and trikes; Not particularly warm hosts and finally, I ended up in room 415 which was definitely NOT the Honeymooner's Suite.

The most serious issue listed I.e., the unfixed and loose wires of the bathroom shower heater, was quickly resolved, as it needed to be as you really don't want electricity anywhere near water as it's a fine conductor.

The Stairs have been spoken about by many others so, it is what it is...If you have issues with mobility, best to look elsewhere in Coron.

The garage over the road is another such point, it isn't going to move so, if a little vocal hustle & bustle is not your thing, day and night that is, then again best to look elsewhere.

As for the staff, they were OK but not great. Expectation on Service is a dangerous thing. They were fine, just not that terribly warm in nature.

Finally, the issue of getting what you paid for. As you can see from the booking form, I booked and paid for a Honeymooners Suite but ended up in room 415, what I believe to be a simple Deluxe Room as it had but the one Queen bed.

The room itself appeared a little worn but overall, fine for what it was. However, that's not what was paid for and consequently expected. They later claimed not to have any availability. I received no refund but was told to contact Expedia.

This did not spoil my time in Coron as I didn't really like it anyway, but that's beside the point.

Would I go back to the Coron Bancuang Mansion if forced to visit Coron again?

No.

Like me and Coron, it's probably best to just move on...

As always, happy and safe travelling.

Phil

We went to Coron before, and we understand there are not many good choices of hotels. This one is not bad, if you do not compare other 4 or 5 stars hotels. Very convenient in terms of location, and good for families to stay with the facilities they provide.

Tyler is right. A van will take you from the airport and it’s a solid 45 minutes. Pretty drive though.

There was no construction going on when I was there last week and no sign of pending construction. The main area of town is easily walkable, guessing under ten minutes walk, or ten pesos per person for the trike ride.
