I stayed at Abrhys Ridge for five nights and had a good time. The location is a bit out of the town center, but I rented a motorbike and got to the town easily. The rooms are clean, if a bit spartan. The WiFi is terrible, but I would blame that on the poor internet connection in Coron/Palawan generally and not necessarily on the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. I was overcharged 500 pesos by the motorbike company and told the hotel staff shortly before I was supposed to leave. I expected to leave without getting my money back, but to my surprise, one of the staff members had driven off to the motorbike company and retrieved my 500 pesos right before I hopped into my van for the airport. Overall, I had a pleasant stay here.
Looked like it was not that easy to find something till we stumbled over Abrhys Ridge. The place is awesome, very clean decent sized rooms, hot water. It is a good 10-15 mi walk out of town, but we did not mind plus we had a motorbike for some of the days. Only negative was breakfast, which is extra anyway, so do yourself a favour and go to the coffee shop in town.
This place is not a luxurious place but it is clean and the staff are very accommodating and helpful. It is very near and convenient to the downtown area of Coron. A perfect place as a base to go island hopping all over Coron. Coron in general is a wonderful place to visit and explore, a good place for snorkeling and do other water sports and activities.
Rooms are simple but clean. The place seems to be relatively new so I didn't worry about dilapidated amenities as I've seen some reviews regarding this issue on older hotels within the town proper. Major plus because Wifi is good at the time I was booked (signal is not so good in Coron, in general). Location is far from the town proper so you better buy some groceries for midnight snacking or get dinner outside prior to heading home from an island tour. If you need breakfast, it needs to be ordered the day before. I like that they can lend you plates and utensils since we got take-out food. I only had issues with the airconditioning since it couldn't take the heat outside in the morning but at night is okay. Overall, place is okay and quiet. Expect to spend a bit on tricycle rides going to and from places. If you want to be out for a little nightlife every night, this is not for you as it is far from the happening place, so try to book way earlier to get a cheap, and nice place in the middle of it all.…
Stayed here during my Coron trip with my cousin and nephew - January 22-24, 2018. I booked through booking.com and it said that we were supposed to have a welcome drink but we received nothing. Too early to check-in as we arrived at around 8am so we decided to leave our things with the front desk so that we can proceed to doing our island tour. Room - Room is on the small side, bathroom is really small and plumbing is leaking (shower and the sink drains to the floor). There was a big hole on our door and the door needs to be really pushed hard so it can close. Beddings aren’t being changed nor offered to be changed daily. No front desk between 10pm and 6am. Make sure you have stuff you need if in case you need something in the middle of the night. No available drinking water for guests and you have to have your own - they sell it but it’s not cold and there’s no fridge in the room to keep it cool. They serve breakfast for 200 PhP per person and it’s mediocre - nothing special about it. You can walk down to the city center and getting a ride is not as accessible - the staff have to call someone and you have to wait for the ride to come. There is absolutely no view whatsoever and the area feels cramped overall. PS to TripAdvisor - Don’t recommend this to your travelers as I would hate for them to be disappointed like the way I was. BE CAREFUL - If you have them arrange something for you (such as tickets to the shipping lines from Coron going to El Nido),make sure that you are knowledgeable. We had them book our tickets and we were not told what time it was leaving. They had a flyer posted on their wall about another shipping line that we preferred because of the departure time but we were made to think we were getting tickets to that shipping line, when in fact, it wasn’t even operational. Instead, they got us tickets to a shipping line that departs at 12 noon but failed to inform us. We woke up at 5:30 am to get ready and make sure that we get there on time, arrived at the port at 8am, only to learn that the tickets we have are for the 12 noon departure. Overall, I would never recommend this. …
