The most guest oriented resort I have ever been. Since the welcome we found a super nice staff and plenty of smiling. The resort is very clean, 20 min walking to the main street or 5min by tricycle (30 php p/p). From the resort y can book any island hopping tour or if y wish a motorbike with same price y can find downtown. If y don't want to go for a tour y can enjoy the two nice pools and the kindness of the staff that offers y complimentary snacks, ice cream and one day we also had a free 15 min massage. Every day from 3 to 5pm in the restaurant area in front of the pool y can enjoy a different complimentary banana snack and drinks and from 5 to 7 y can have a cocktail happy hour on the roof top bar watching the sunset in a jacuzzi pool. Breakfast is also ok; the only thing that I suggest is to empower the wifi connection which is not everywhere good as needed.overall we were super satisfied and we strongly recommend this resort.

We stayed at The Funny Lion in early March of this year when we had to make an unexpected detour during our honeymoon trip . At first, I have to admit, we didn't consider the resort because of the name. We decided to give it a chance however when our friends recommended it. After all the reviews were good, the photos online looked nice and the location seemed to be fine. We were not disappointed!
The friendly airport representatives waited for our arrival at Busuanga Airport. This has to be pre-arranged but is worth it for just a few pesos more than having to sort out your own transportation. Cold towels and chilled bottles of water were offered before heading to the resort in their van. We always appreciate this simple gesture when traveling!
The resort is a pleasant, peaceful, safari-themed property with a lovely pool area that can be easily enjoyed the whole day. Just be a bit cautious when coming in and out of the pool as it can be quite slippery.
The room we had was nice and spacious and we were greeted by lovely honeymoon amenities. Once in a while, we would find freshly made beverages in our fridge during the day and a delightful sweet treat from the Chef at night. I have to mention how wonderful it was to come back to our room after it was cleaned each day, it smelled so clean and relaxing.
At Hunt, the resort's restaurant, aside from some items being either a bit too salty or too sweet, the menu choices are creative and mostly delicious.
From the front office to the restaurant side, service was consistently good. Everyone was always engaging and friendly. A special commendation to JB, the duty manager and Thel from Hunt restaurant.

The staff are wonderful. The hotel is a short hop out of the central town. The hotel has a tricycle service into town, takes about 5 min and getting back is about P100 in a local tricycle or a 30 min walk. Very safe walk but you might want torch for some of the walk home. Rooms are large and well appointed.The air conditioner a bit noisy at night, so bring earplugs We loved the small touches the hotel offer. Little drinks in the fridge every day, a free foot massage at the pool, all unexpected and appreciated. The pool was really nice. Not too warm or cold, just perfect. And lots of sunny and shady areas. The jewel of the hotel is the bar on the rooftop. Amazing views and good happy hour cocktails.

My stay at the funny lion had just come to an end sadly as i write this review. So here goes.
1. Touched down in Coron on the 13th of January for a stay with the funny lion until the 17th. Man was i impressed. Organised transport with the funny lion staff and the van and staff were on time ready to greet you when you arrive at arrrivals to take you to the van with a welcoming gift and fresh wet towel to refresh.
2. Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the front counter staff who were very polite and accomodating.
3.Were shown to our room which was 301 top floor to have the staff lug our luggage up two flights of stairs.
4.During the while stay here the staff at the front service desk to the pride rock deck to the hunts restraunt were all polite and very proffessional throughout the whole stay.
5. The clean room and turn down service was an absolute treat and well done to the staff that manage this area. You made the complete stay just that little better.
6. Now the food and the level of service could not be faulted. "Try the pizza balls" from the pride rock deck. Tell Kenneth that Josh Albert sent you 😉.
Big thanks to all the staff, special thanks to Romeo, Ian, Kenneth, Roxann and JL you guys are a credit to the resort becuse you made our stay fantastic. Will definaltley reccomend to stay at this place if you ever need somewhere to stay in Coron and will be back to visit in the near future. Big 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌.

My family and I stayed at The Funny Lion for 3 days and 2 nights before switching to another hotel. After our experience at The Funny Lion, we wished we had just stayed there for the entire duration of our Coron trip - we didn't want to leave!
The hotel staff were very thoughtful and provided my family and I with such a personalized experience; attentive and immediately tending to our every need. They had bottles of water and wet towels prepared for us upon pick up at the airport, and welcome drinks upon reaching the hotel. We had mentioned wanting to book an island tour for our 2nd day and they immediately took care of it for us, allowing us to enjoy the rest of the day by their pool and the beautiful sunset from their jacuzzi on their rooftop. The next day we were surprised to find packed bags of towels and bottled water waiting for us at the reception for us to bring on our island tour. The attention to detail and the staff's genuine desire to serve guests the best possible experience was very much appreciated by my family and I.
The staff were quick with suggestions when we were unsure of where to eat our meals, giving us directions and calling over tricycles to take us whenever needed. Every day and night of our stay, we always came back to the hotel to friendly faces and warm greetings. We truly appreciated every moment spent in The Funny Lion and I never hesitate to recommend the place whenever I have friends traveling to Coron. The hotel may not be the biggest or grandest, but the hospitality the staff readily provides makes up for it 10x more. Plus, the scenery and sunsets seen from their rooftop bar are not to be missed! Truly can't wait til my next visit. Keep up the amazing work!

I was choosing between staying in either a hotel or a resort while in Coron and debating between Funny Lion or Bacau Bay. Given that we’ll definitely be out everyday on island hopping tours with limited time to enjoy resort facilities, we opted for Funny Lion after reading the positive reviews, and also due to the location, and the overall aesthetic of the place. We were not disappointed. It is a smaller boutique hotel compared to the bigger resorts but it didn’t matter to us since we’re out the whole day anyway. What did matter was the room itself, the cleanliness of the place, the customer service, and the location - all of which Funny Lion excelled in. The room and bathroom were spacious. No complaints regarding bed or pillows. We slept well. They provide complimentary drinks and fruit everyday. It gets replenished everyday, ready to be enjoyed after a full day of island hopping. Complimentary breakfast was good and offered a variety each day. Service was great. Everyone was nice and accommodating. Pool and the Pride deck with jacuzzis looked very inviting but alas, we were not able to enjoy since we would get back late afternoon and opted to try the local restaurants in town. Food offerings at the restaurant were good. We had room service one night and everything we ordered was delicious. We booked a massage at their spa and that was great as well. The spa is a room or two on the first floor. I really have no complaints. Everything was great. Airport transfers as well as tours were arranged for us and went smoothly (the folks at the front desk provided a bag of beach towels just when we were getting picked up for our island hopping tour). I would stay here again the next time we are in Coron. If you’re looking for a place in Coron, try Funny Lion.

Came to Coron for some diving, and was looking for good hotels in the area (not too pricey, but with decent amenities). We booked this place seeing that the photos looked decent and everything looked quite clean, with some frills like the swimming pool - but we realised it’s so MUCH MORE! Most impressively, the staff were extremely helpful, and always ready with a smile. Amenities were great, from the pool to the rooftop bar complete with jacuzzis. Loved the breakfast spread too, good mix of local and international food. Room was cosy and clean. Staff also went the extra mile to make sure all our other Coron experiences were great, down to the tiny details like letting us borrow bath towels to bring out. Location was great - just a 5min, cheap Trike ride to the main town (drivers are always hanging around).
Can’t recommend this place more :) Probably the best hotel experience I’ve had the few times I’ve come to the Philippines.

Impeccable service! The staff went above and beyond expectations. Everyone was very friendly and happy to serve. Special mention to Jen, Bernard and JB of front desk, and Ian, Gabb and Boknoy of F&B. You guys are the best!
We were there during typhoon Odette. All our plans were in disarray. But the staff made sure that we were comfortable, safe and happy. Even when we had to just stay in the hotel during this time since our tour was canceled, we enjoyed the beautiful pool on the ground floor and their roof deck bar which has a spectacular view! There was one day where the whole city had no electricity, but the staff made sure that we always had power and wifi.
When things finally opened up, they made sure that our tour was rescheduled accordingly. We started early and left at 7am but forgot to bring the breakfast the hotel prepared for us. So when we were already on the boat and about to launch, we were pleasantly surprised to see the staff from Funny Lion with our breakfast in tow at the pier. This epitomizes the level of service this hotel has.
The hotel only has 31 rooms but they are all spacious and nicely designed. The grounds are well maintained and cleaned regularly. Everything is sanitized and health protocols are strictly enforced so you feel safe the whole time.
We had a very memorable and wonderful experience in Funny Lion. This will now be our “home” in Coron!

We stayed at Funny Lion for our last stop in the Philippines for our Honeymoon and I can not express how great of a stay it was. The staff was so friendly and helpful during the whole stay. They surprised us with a room decorated to celebrate our honeymoon along with little gifts. The room was already fresh with air conditioning, and the bed/comforter very comfortable. Water pressure was great and no out of power incidents, as we’ve heard they were really common in the island. Their restaurant food is great, with a good variety of options to chose from. You can sit next to the pool for a romantic/peaceful dinner or they can serve it at their bar area “the pride rock” terrace while you watch a beautiful colorful sunset with a drink. Up at the pride rock terrace they also have two Jacuzzis so don’t forget to check those out as the view is gorgeous.
We booked a massage for our second day, and omg it was amazing ! My husband and I kept falling asleep. This was the best massage we got on this trip. Although it was a little pricier than other places, it was very much worth it.
Buffet style breakfast was included so we ate here everyday, the food was delicious. For one of our days we had an early tour and didn’t have enough time to sit down and eat so they provided small boxes for us to go. That was a really nice touch.
They also provided transportation to the airport for a small fee. It was only 30 min away from the airport. As we were leaving in the van the sweet staff stood at the exit waving good bye. So sweet, they made us feel very welcomed.
Overall our stay was great and we would definitely recommend ! Thank you Funny Lion !

They accommodated us as early as 8 AM. We’re supposed to check-in at 2 PM but even if we arrived very early, they still allowed us to put our things in the the room without additional charge. They always refill our complimentary drinks whenever we ask them to clean our room and they even provided us towels whenever we go Island Hopping and when we went to the hot spring even though it is outside of their responsibility. When we swam at the pool, they provided us with complimentary cocktails to enjoy the pool. There is also provide unlimited breakfast which tastes exceptionally good. Their shampoos smell so good that we bought it in their souvenir shop. We also tried their Raja massage and it was so good plus their ginger tea tastes great too. I can say that Funny Lion is by far THE BEST HOTEL we have experienced. They didn’t just focus on how they will enjoy their hotel, but how are we going to enjoy both their hotel and the Island of Coron overall. Kudos to the Funny Lion team and we are surely going back and choose your hotel as our main accommodation!

Sorry for late reply. I did see a family of 3 there and children looked around 5. Honestly no idea of a family room. All I can it’s an amazing hotel. If your planning Cebu then try out Les maison d’ltac in ronda. This villa is unreal

I did not see any nearby beach to relax on. Perhaps visit the springs? The beaches that are the best to visit and relax on are the ones you go on the little boat to see on the excisions.
