It's a great place to run away from the Coron-town buzz but still in walking distance to the city (20 mins). The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. And the garden has a nice feel. Unfortunately, and this probably is not entirely resort's fault, but... there has been a construction going on the neighbouring site, just outside of our window (March 2019) waking us up at 8am each day... and over the weekend, when we finally hoped for some decent sleep, big group of guests was checking in at 2am, standing just outside of our doors and shouting to each other... Not cool at all... Lastly, their breakfast is very very simple so we never tried their evening restaurant, that apparently is meant to be very good...

Pro: Facility is nice. The room is spacious. Staff are friendly. Pool is amazing. Good restaurant that is reasonably priced. Con: Around 15 min ride away from town centre (all excursions leave from town). Each trip cost 50 pesos. No cell service connection (only cell tower for internet and phone on the island). Internet is very spotty and could simply not work if there are a lot of users.

... feels so good when you’re on a holiday, and this is exactly what Sophia’s Garden treated us with. Without us asking for it, they arranged for our pick-up to all our activities and even our next hotel. Food was the best in our first week in the Philippines, very fresh and healthy and VERY generously served. Breakfast is simply awesome, fresh and pancakes and eggs get cooked for you live. The premises and rooms are stylish colonial / Chinese style, perfect to enjoy Coron without the turmoil of the Town Proper (where you can get in 10mn with a tricycle the reception will happily call for you). My only suggestions to make this peace haven a fully polished diamond would be enhanced WiFi service (best connection currently is in the garden at roofed table) and less bright lights in…

Spent 2 nights here. Located short way out of town, 10 mins moped ride. Polite and helpful staff. Nice pool and gardens. Very large room and plenty of hot water. Restaurant good. WiFi worked well in main areas although signal fluctuates a bit. Activities can be arranged with reception.

PROS Great staff and availability 24/7. Good position and awesome garden. Valuable security service, too. Price is right balanced. CONS Internet might be improved, as much as the Restaurant (few choices and a bit overrated). Breakfast is not at top, too: Philippino kind is rich, continental is poor. Good place to stay in Coron, especially considering the island standard currently running (bit more savage and rough rather than El Nido)

I made our reservation to stay at Sophia Garden Resort approx. 6 months in advance to stay there from Dec 26-31, 2018 and a family situation came about just recently in November 2018, forcing us to cancel our trip to Philippines from Canada. I cancelled our flights and all other resorts with no issues at all. However, I requested our cancellation with Sophia Garden Resort on November 16, 2018 to be specific and they approved it. They advised they would send through PayPal since that’s how I initially paid but then advised their PayPal account was locked and I would have to provide my bank account info, which I was hesitant. I ended up providing it but then they said that’s too much bank fees to do the transfer and would proceed with PayPal again. To this date, over 30+ days…

The staff was great, pool was very nice and the surrounding resort was pretty and the exterior had a very old classic vibe which I loved. However the rooms were very outdated and for some reason we always had cockroaches in our room and bathroom. Looking at historic reviews others did not appear to have the same problem so maybe it might be our room (8). Me and my husband are not really a fan cockroaches so the staff were happy to get rid of them. There was a wide variety of breakfast choices, which were great but we weren’t so sure on our lunch choice on arrival as the chicken didn’t taste right so we went into town instead. WiFi is not in your rooms only communal areas. All in all we had an ok stay and the customer service and exterior of the resort outweighed the cons!

We spent a few days there. Needed to chill a bit. The pool was very enjoyable in a beautiful garden. Every evening a bone fire. Friendly staff. Do not hesitate to order your lunch or diner anywhere in the garden or by the pool. Breakfast is very generous. Only issue is bad wifi.

Overall, it was a peaceful stay at this resort. The staff were all kind and helpful. I enjoyed my stay with my family. My only issues with the place: 1. Location was quite far from the city center. This is my 2nd time in Coron and I enjoyed staying somewhere near the town proper during my first stay. But if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay this place might be for you. 2. Limited breakfast options.

We loved our 5 nights stay at Sophia's garden! The staff is so nice, helpful and friendly. The property is spotless with a beautiful, relaxing garden, a great pool, spa, shaded areas around the pool to relax or work. The restaurant is surrounded by luxurious plants and the staff very attentive. breakfast is included and generous but do not expect anything fancy, you'll get the same oily eggs, sweet bread and filipino rice and sides with some fruits as anywhere else. The room has ample water, coffee and tea supplies, clean with A/C and bathroom supplies (shampoo, soap, lotion, toothbrush kit). As soon as you get close to the pool, the staff is there with clean and dry towels and you can have lunch, drinks by the pool. With only 25 pesos/person a tricycle will take you anywhere…
