Nice place good value rooms. Novel arrangement. Great sunset. No Air-condition. Food average and bland but not expensive They get you on the cost of transport. To and from the airport same price as a room for the night. Seems costly compared to rest of Philippines.

We very much enjoyed our long weekend at Al Faro last week. Both of our flights to and from Busuanga on Cebu Pacific were on time, and the pick-up and drop-off went very smoothly as well. It's a 30-minute drive and a 5-minute boat ride to get there from the airport, and Al Faro took care of all of the arrangements. Communication with Nenita via email was always prompt and our stay was very enjoyable. You have to climb some steep steps to get up to the resort, but the view from the top is definitely worth it. Their staff kindly carry your luggage for you on arrival and departure. Our villa overlooking the bay was tastefully decorated and we had our own covered terrace with comfortable seating from which we could watch the sun go down every evening. There's no air conditioning in the room, but the fans they provided meant that we didn't miss having it. The restaurant likewise has a pleasant view across the bay, and since it's open air, you get the benefit of a cool breeze too. The waitress service by Amor and her team was very attentive and the dishes they serve are tasty. I particularly liked the fresh fish, squid and boiled potatoes that they repeatedly cooked specially for me due to my dietary restrictions. The pizza was delicious too. There's no beach at the actual resort but they kindly organised a couple of boat trips which included lunch on nearby beaches. We also visited Calauit island, which is home to the descendants of the African animals that the Marcos family imported in the 1970s. One of the giraffes there is even called Al Faro. We'd definitely go back to stay at the resort again as we found it very good value for money. Nenita's husband would be an interesting guy to talk to as well, although sadly we the opportunity didn't really present itself until shortly before we were leaving. Hopefully next time. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

I stayed my last couple of days in this place and never regret it! Ate Joanne, Amor, and all the staff are super friendly and always available for anything you need 24/7, a type of ambience that it feels like home but very professional at the same time. Best sunset nice place to chill and good food! Perfect for couples solo’s or a group of family and friends! Highly recommend 💯

Value for money! This has been a really pleasant stay. The hotel is clean and fresh, the food is not too expensive and very good. The pool and the pool area is nice. Good place to enjoy the sunset. Minimum stay is two nights.

Amazing place to stay. Before booking we were concerned about the isolated position but they actually provide transport from coron coron and it s just 30 mins away from the airport plus they organized all kind of tours in the nearby spectacular islands. Very clean and very relaxing. Food is great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Amazing massage available on request. Every bungalows is special in its own way, spacious and with a lot of privacy. It s definately a place to visit should you be in that area. you won t regret it at all!!!

Overall, we had a good experience at AL FARO. Pros - Location - It is very quite, quaint and isolated... if that's what you are looking for. Thankfully, we were and this was just what we needed. Just to unwind, relax by the pool, do nothing and chill out. Good spot to do this. - Sunset Views - perfect place to watch the sunset perched up on a hill. Can lay in the pool or on one of the chairs, sip a margarita and relax! it is awesome - Rooms and Amenities - Rooms were great! some of the best we had for mid-range hotels in the Philippines. Pool was awesome, very clean and a good temperature. - Staff Friendliness - all of the servers were very, very nice and friendly. :) Everyone was great! Cons - Location - yes, this is a pro as well (for being quiet, quaint, and isolated), but if you want some nightlife action, to meet people, or to be close to town for restaurants, bars, diving, etc. this is not the place to stay at. It's about 1 full hour drive from Coron Town and is pretty far. The private van is US$30.. which was a huge ripoff. - No AC! - Costs - there were a number of things that weren't represented in the light i thought it would be. For example, we were told that a ferry pickup is available... but we weren't told it was 1,500 PHP (US$30)! No mention of that. The diving here is expensive (compared to Coron town) - 4800 PHP for 2 dives at the nearby dive shop at the hotel across the bay, vs. 3600-4000 PHP for 3 dives at the dive shops in Coron Town. PLUS you had to rent your own equipment for another 500-600PHP, PLUS you had to rent a dive computer for another 600 PHP!!!! Lastly, they even charge for kayak rentals and snorkel rentals... Hadn't seen that at any other hotel in the Philippines. - Boat Tours - we did a half day island tour, but it was absolutely terrible. Despite having our own "private" boat, it was run by two unfriendly guys who didn't speak English at all and it was 2,500 PHP! Very expensive for a half day that only lasted 3 hours (without a meal too). compared to the boat tours in El Nido which were full days for 3,000 PHP for 2 people AND a huge fresh cooked lunch. Good place, would stay here again in Coron, but a bit too expensive - Guess that's the price for getting some peace and quiet.

The most incredible location, people, accommodation, and vibe. A short trip from Coron (or even shorter if you go direct from airport!). Their friendly staff pick you up in a boat to take you across to their magical island. They are super friendly, helpful with planning activities, meals, exploring. And very responsive and easy to contact. This was a major difference from other places I stayed at in Coron.. Don't hesitate - just book. If I go again, I won't even bother with Coron, just go straight out to Al Faro.

We were staying at the Busuanga Bay Lodge in Coron and we happened to see the Al Faro resort across the bay. The staff told us that we could have dinner there and the boat will pick us up and bring us. No one informed us that it would be best to place an order in advance, but the staff told us that we should have and that they informed our hotel when they made the reservation for us. Upon getting there, we had to climb a few steep meters up. The food took about an hour and 15 minutes to prepare, and the staff explained that the food was in a line-up according to who ordered first. Also when we asked what their best seller was, they said it was the lobster and it was sold out by the big group. Then they couldn’t recommend anything else for us to eat. We googled what to order and TripAdvisor told us the pizza was good and made from scratch, so we ordered it but we’d had better. Our server was an experienced girl who just giggled her way out of every request that she couldn’t fulfill. We also had one senior with us, and even though we were 3 who ordered 6 dishes, she told us that seniors usually do not eat much and could only give a senior discount on one dish. Not sure what kind of travelers come here but this is not a 5 star experience for a 3 star hotel. Would not recommend, the whole experience is not worth it. We should have just stayed at BBL.

You reach the resort via a fairly steep walk. It's worth it - the view is special indeed. Perfect for your romantic getaway! The resort follows an eco-theme and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I quite liked how you are asked to plan your next day's activities the evening before - this adds to an utterly stress-free stay. I'll be back!
