Very good price when booming through Agoda. Bed was comfortable and a/c was sufficient but very noisy.

Shower only had two temperatures - cold or very hot. Our room was close to the road so could be noisey at night and the morning. WiFi was accessible in the reception/breakfast room but it was poor and mostly didn’t work.

Tried to book directly on site, but it was 20% cheaper using Agoda?! Room was small but clean. No shower curtain so water splashed all over the bathroom and toilet. Clean linens and reasonably comfortable bed. Wifi available on 3rd floor only, and a VERY poor signal. No other facilities. Overall very basic but reasonable value for what you pay.

Good:
- Clean
- conveniently located (city center near shops, restaurants, walking distance to boat station)
- very approachable staff and owners (they offer tours also at the front desk which are cheaper than the rates I got online)
- good breakfast (you have to pre-order your breakfast the night before so they can cook it early, unfortunately if you arrive a little later, then expect a cold food)

Bad :
- no free Internet in their rooms, you have to go to their restaurant to get a free connection which is an inconvenience if you want to relax in your room while checking your emails
- no telephone in their room
-no ref to store your food
-no coffee maker, basic amenities you can find in regular hotels, they don't have them
-no vault too, they said it is very safe in Coron but still, you want to be sure. They will offer for you to put your valuable stuff to the owner's unit (3rd floor) but of course it's annoying to bring your stuff there every morning
- no toiletries too, just bathroom tissue, 1 small soap and 1 sachet of shampoo...
- they have a regular blackout schedule in Coron, which is of course is inevitable, the hotel has a generator anyway, the problem is you can Only use their electric fan during power outtage which I don't mind too except that the fan they have provided does not have a control and it was set on its highest speed. I just opted for an open window.. No fan for me thank you.

All in all it's an "ok" hotel, even the price us just ok although some tourists said you can get a better accomodation and amenities for the same price. Will i come back here again? Maybe, but will surely try other place next time.

Don’t stay here unless you want to be woken up before 7:30 by loud people, motorcycles, and marching bands as it’s a very noisy area. No internet, despite what trip advisor says, which wouldn’t be as much of a problem if it wasn’t also a cellular data dead spot. Room was clean, location is good if you want to have quick access to restaurants and the port, but I would not recommend this place.

Coron is absolutely the most spectacular snorkeling destination of all the Philippines (it’s the shallow fish & coral). The Island View Inn is a sensible base for exploring the spender of the private (no hotels) Coron Island near-by. The January weather (global warming they say) was the most wonderful tropical experience of my life. We had a full week of beautiful clear sunny skies with cool nights, pleasantly breezy days and no rain. The Island View Inn is a modern compact, nicely painted, lightly decorated, tiled floored, very clean (to Philippine Stds), dysfunctional downtown Coron hotel with a well meaning pleasantly inefficient staff. The concrete walls block the noise from surrounding neighborhood but cause the rooms to be very hot (A/C does not work during brown out). Paid P700 fan price for a normally P1500 A/C hot water room during prime season (simple luck). The hotel garden was a crowded gravel parking lot. Wi-Fi is only available in their snack restaurant on the 3rd fl of the adjacent building. The biggest drawback of this hotel is the lack of common areas (only a tiny 2nd floor balcony & roof top restaurant). Coron Town is an ugly little village with no beach or place to spend time between boat day tours. The Island View Inn does not have suitable common areas for a pleasant stay. The rooms by themselves are too claustrophobic for a week stay.
The 3rd floor empty restaurant reflects the poor quality of the menu, which is only printed on the wall. The restaurant does not even have simple fresh Mango shakes and uses its microwave constantly. The food is better at the rustic 24 hour restaurant next door.
PLUS- The Island View Inn is near the wet market (300meter), the town square, a good ocean front park with a zip line & restaurants and the day tour boat pier.
NEG – back-up generator not enough (brown-outs every two hours prevent the air conditioner, hot water and sometimes TV from working), flat screen TV mounting bracket makes the TV unviewable (worthless-just listened to MTV during trip), wet Philippine type bathroom (CR) will always make you clothes wet and leave dirty tracks in the room, single chair balcony not enough for even two people in the room, room windows face walls or the hot sun on the west side, need to nicely remind staff to clean room everyday.

TRIP DETAILS: Prime Season 7 night stay (4 is enough if in a rush) – simplest trip you would ever plan, everything is so close
Cebu Pacific MNL-CORON-MNL P3098.4 / 2 PAX w/15kg bag + P440 seat tax
VAN – P150/PAX 45min drive - waiting for you without reservation when plane lands. Hotel will arrange return trip to airport for the same price.
Hotel – P700 x 7 days
DAY BOAT TOURS: 8 hour tours can be arranged west of the town square (including high government fees and lunch) – take at least these three tourss
Coron Island Snorkel Tour A (best!!! don’t miss) P550/PAX including big barbecue lunch, 5 stops w/ warm water Kayangon Lake being main highlight.
Calis Snorkel Tour A alternate – P750/PAX 5 stops w/ Sieta Pecados Reef is the highlight. 1000s of different colored fish
Calumbuyan Island Tour P995/PAX - highlight is Sangat Coral Garden!!!! & Lusung Gunboat (1 meter depth) 1000s of different colored fish and coral

Snorkeling does not require swimming!!! just floating in life jacket while looking through mask at water below (seas are calm in bays near Coron)
Bring your own snorkel. Rental P150/day
Buy cashews (P100), rattan desk lamps (P500), t-shirts (P120 min), pomelo, fruit, key chain w/ engraved name P12, decorative hanging art for front door P70, rain stick P25
Skip town tour- true waste of money – easy to walk around the whole town in an hour
Safari sounds great, however, you have to wake up at 3am for a 16 hr day trip P2500/PAX…. only if you have the energy & have never seen a giraffe
Malcapuya Island Tour – three hour one way boat trip to be on a beautiful beach for one hour P1100/PAX….only for the die hards
Rent your own fan boat – P1500 near Coron Island trips, P2500 far off islands – plus government fees of P100 to P200 per beach stop
Hot Springs in the tropics – really now??? I was never that cold during my trip to consider this.
Climb Mt Tapyas because there is nothing to do in the small Coron Village Town.
Stay on one of the twelve private island resorts >P8000/night.
Town Trikes are P8/PAX to get around downtown.
El Nido islands are much prettier, however, there are not many good shallow reefs for snorkeling. There is practically no snorkeling at Boracay, Moalboal, Siargao or Samal.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Islands View Inn for three nights in January 2012. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English, the room was clean and the location good. There are some minor points to consider before staying here however.

- The room was on the small side with little storage space, but very clean and with a comfortable bed. There was a daily maid service.
- The bathroom window was broken on arrival, allowing mosquitos into the room, however this was fixed promptly when raised with the hotel staff. The bathroom was clean.
- There is a very nice roof terrace with panoramic views of Coron, serving a tasty breakfast and reasonably-priced drinks.
- Be aware that there is no secure storage in the room, however the reception desk did offer to put valuables in their safe.
- The hotel is located very close to the main road, which means that there is a lot of traffic and general noise very early in the morning (from around 6:30am). We did not find this to be a problem, as we were waking up early due to jet lag, however it is something to consider if you like a lie-in.

Overall, the stay was very pleasant and we found the room rate to be good value compared to other accommodation in the area. Being located close to the main street in Coron Town, we found many bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The market, five minutes' walk away, is a must-visit for fresh fish and fruit & veg.

it was really hard to find a good but affordable hotel, especially if none of my friends have gone to that place. Good thing for me, an agent of a Travel Agency at Coron where we made our booking recommended I.V.I. "Swak na Swak" on my preferences: walking distance to the town proper, affordable, aircon, lcd tv, hot and cold shower, clean rooms and amenities, and accommodating staffs.

We've experienced brown-outs early in the morning, around 1am, but its a town stuff since the Power plant can't supply enough energy 24/7 and they are following an Energy Saving program. But, no worries, these hotel has a back-up generator AND it powers the fan in your room (so keep that fan ON so you won't stand-up in the middle of your sleep to switch it ON).

The food is GOOD, i like there Tapsilog and Dangsilog. As a result - I ended up ordering another round every breakfast. I can only say breakfast coz we always have our lunch included in the tour and we skip dinner since we're still full because of the heavy lunch prepared for us.

We experienced a minor set-back when we we're directed to transfer to another room on the 2nd day of our stay. There was a misunderstanding between the Travel Agency and the Hotel Management regarding our booking. we were told to transfer to a bigger room with a higher price, BUT... it was fine with us when the Travel Agency shouldered the extra cost of the room. BUTI NA LANG.

Thank you I.V.I. for making our stay at Coron memorable. More power to your hotel.

I can't believe that none of the most recent reviews have mentioned the noise! Yes it's clean, good value and a good location (hence the good rating). However if you're a light sleeper like me, watch out for the cacophony of noise from 5am until 11pm! Tricycles, motorbikes, children, dogs... Coron town is just noisy and potentially some of the other rooms are quieter. I was in room 2 which is right by the road (I did ask to move but got told we couldn't!) but next time I would stay somewhere out of town.

I reserved a Superior room and Deluxe Room last June 2012 and sent them the inquiry form thru their website http://www.islandsviewinn.com/
I work at night so when I sent them the inquiry form, I received their response the following morning. They called me and talked to Jen- GREAT Customer Service Skills. Due to Jen's exceptional customer service, I decided to stay at Islands View Inn. 10 days before my arrival date- Aug 22, I decided to just get the Superior Room instead because my bf's sister is still offshore.
I read in their hotel rules that if you cancel 14 days prior to arrival, you will get your money back but if less than 14 days until the 7th day prior to arrival, you will just get half. (no complains since most of the hotels have the same rules that apply)
They have van transfers from and to the airport which only costs 150php per person per way- which is okay because the airport is 30 minutes away from hotel. I didnt see any public transport at the airport except for vans that also charge same amount. I suggest you avail their transpo so it will be less hassle for you and your company.
Pro's
- spacious, clean rooms and bathroom
- nice bed (I think it is Orthopedic)
- super cold A/C
- wall fan (you'll use this since Coron has certain time for power outage at maximum of 3 hours)

Con's
- no vault/ safety deposit box (which is okay for me since I always bring all my valuable items :) The staffs are nice so don't worry...
- Internet Connection is only available at the lobby and third floor where the cafeteria is located

Overall, I recommend this hotel since this is in town proper and near the public market and point for island hopping...
