Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the couples rooms with an amazing view. Steps up were a pleasant challenge but worth it. Room nice, you have to ask for it to be cleaned which we discovered after 3 days. Bathroom could do with a refurb but ok. I put a pool towel down for a mat.
The pick up from Balinsasayaw quick stop shop was well organised, the owner just rang and the lads carried our bags to the boat. We stocked up on drinks and nibbles at the shop. They drop us off at the end of the stay and we took a tricycle to town.
Lack of information ...we had to keep asking about everything.. milk for the tea, pool towels, room service etc etc, which was a bit of a bind but when asked the staff leapt up and did the job very willingly. Shame they aren't proactive instead of re active
Food fine, set menu for Ps 300 which filled us up, they seek you out to see if you want to dine as food cooked to order-fresh.
Didn't like the cats in the dinning area and didn't like to have to listen to the receptionist's own music and gaming which they were playing while we were dinning.
Wi fi only in the dinning room and again the staff were using it so it was very slow.
Dined twice on the beach in cabanas, for no extra charge, which was nice
Free water tea coffee but had to ask for milk, spoons, tea bags etc etc
Lots to do, comfortable sun loungers, lovely pool which we had mostly to ourselves.
Free kayak, life vests, paddle boards. Floating house on a nearby reef just off shore, kayak to it but it is not their private house so a couple of trip boats use it as well. Go there about 9 to 10am to have it to yourself. Amazing fish.
We paddled the kayak to Coron Island...loved it, wind gets up in the afternoon so make sure you can get back. We had 4 nights here and did not get bored.
Staff lovely but it was very off putting to see them playing pool, sitting on sun loungers and laying on the table by the kayaks. I understand that they must get bored when they are not working but they should be provided with a separate staff relaxing area. The beach and land to the right as you enter the hotel really needs a good rubbish removal, yuck. The dinning room toilet was grubby, no toilet roll and this was also the only toilet for the pool area.
The staff need a good manager and training. It would make a big difference to the guest experience.
All in all despite this I preferred this resort to the Two Seasons Bayside and would recommend staying at Balinsasayaw if you want to visit Coron Island

I cannot express how I fell in love with this place. I had electric accessibility all day in my room. There was an old post by someone online that said the electricity was limited in the room. Please disregard it because it is a very old post. Let me explain the highlights of this resort. The rooms are authentic, aesthetically captivating, and blends with the natural beauty of the island. The amenities of the resort is exactly what you expect from a place designed to help you escape and relax. Whether you’re a solo traveler, couple or a large family, this resort accommodates to all types. The large infinity pool was absolutely gorgeous. I took a variety of Instagram worth shots with the beautiful rock cliffs in the background. The beach itself was clean and the water was so clear. You’re able to use their kayaks and row to the floating house on there resort property, and snorkel. At the flowing house, you can find an abundance of fish and clams. This was my particularly favorite feature of the resort because it was pretty exclusive to the residents at the resort. The food was affordable, fresh and delicious. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and never had a dish we did not like. The staff were beyond courtesy and accommodating. Shoutout to Brian at the front desk who was always smiling and incredibly friendly. He helped us book our tours and boat trips to and from town, always checked in on us and just made the place an extension of our home. Lastly my fiancé, Tita and Tito were able to meet one of the owners, Emily, and her husband, who happened to be staying at the resort at the same time. We chatted for hours and enjoyed their company at the breakfast table, and when we had ran into them at the boat dock. Emily informed us about Coron and their intentions to preserve the natural beauty of the area. The resort itself is a testimony of their efforts. There is WiFi at the front desk, but not in the rooms. It allows for everyone staying to enjoy the presence of those around them and the country itself. Take advantage of that experience. We are entirely too consumed by the Wifi that we forget to appreciate the beauty around us. I am beyond grateful for this experience and could not have booked a better place. I have every intention of returning back not only with my fiancé but with his family as well, so they can experience what we experienced for four days.

We stayed here for 2 relaxing nights and it was perfect to get away from the busy Coron town. We got picked up by boat and it’s about a 10 minute trip to the resort. We were greeted with a welcome drink and the views were stunning. If you are looking for a place to put your phone down (wifi is pretty much non existent), get into a good book and enjoy the scenery then this is the place for you. The accommodation is basic and expect local wildlife to join you as the huts are amongst the foliage. They have aircon and hot water and were clean upon arrival. The pool is big and the hammocks were our favourite bit while watching the sunset. The use of kayaks and paddle boards are also free of charge with the house reef just in front of the hotel. The food is a set menu everyday and portions are very big. You can also get a boat back to Coron town for 800 pesos if you would rather eat there.

I had high expectations because of the past reviews. The resort was actually nice, from the pavilion to their pool area and their beach cabanas, along with the reef garden near the resort. However, the room was dusty, the bathroom was rusty, and was a fire hazard. The light bulb in the corner room was hanging due to some damage in the ceiling. Even after turning the switch off, there was still a dim light coming from the bulb. In addition, the AC was not working properly and was unable to cool the room. We were literally sweating before going to bed for two nights.
Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but the front desk agent, or I guess that's their resort manager, made us feel unwelcome. She was not proactive and did not acknowledge any requests. I do not know why they hired her because it is evident that she does not like her job. I believe the other staff members are more qualified to accommodate guests.
Upon arrival, she told us that breakfast started at 6:30 AM and meals in the resort are set meals for lunch and dinner. Basically, guests have no choice but to avail the set meal, which costs 500 pesos per person. We had the lunch set meal, which consisted of 1 small fish, eggplant, and soup. For 500 pesos, it was not worth it.
The next day, we asked if we could schedule a boat transfer at 7 AM the following day because our flight was at 9:30 AM. We also confirmed if we could have breakfast by 6:30 AM. She said yes for the transfer and breakfast.
On our last day, we came down to the pavilion at 6 AM to wait for the staff to serve breakfast. However, by 7 AM, there was still no food, and other guests were also waiting since 6:30 AM. I asked the server if the front desk agent was around because I did not want us to be late for our flight.
Finally, at 7:15 AM, she arrived slowly walking towards the counter like nothing was important and without a sense of urgency. She did not apologize, explain, or even say ‘thank you for staying with us.’ Breakfast was served at 7:20, so we did not eat and just left to catch our flight.
We spent 10,000 pesos for two nights. We definitely did not pay for the service. Thanks to the view, reef garden, kayak, and paddleboard, we were able to entertain ourselves and not deal with the resort's incompetent service.

Great experience in Coron, Palawan. We stayed at the Balinsasayaw Resort, where we felt we were sharing the island with only a few families and couples. The staff were very attentive and the food was truly tasty (forgot to ask if the chef was from Pampanga). Lots of activities at the resort itself, you can go snorkeling in the near by coral reef or you can go on an island hopping tour, using the resorts tour guide and boat (really felt exclusive and the tour guide was very knowledgeable). Already planning for the next bigger family trip.

The hotel is located in a private island with a private beach 15 minutes away by boat from Coron Town Proper. The rooms are adequate and the view was great. The infinity pool was great. The food was average as there no other choices except what they serve. There was only one staff constantly in the counter. Its a quiet place for relaxation.
Our stay would have been great, except that my teenage son was bitten by a centipede 3 times in his arms and bottom at 3 a.m. on our 2nd night of stay. There was no staff in the clubhouse to give first aid. So, my husband did it himself. I had some antibacterial cream and put it on the bite wound. The next day, we told the staff. There was no Manager in the area to answer why there are centipede in the rooms instead gave us a a tablespoon of honey to put in the wound. Fortunately, after the swelling my son got better that day.
I was not able to sleep well on our last day thinking we could also be bitten. I would not recommend this resort. It's a rundown resort without proper maintenance and no Manager around in case of emergency. It is hazardous and dangerous place for people with young children.

I wanted to "escape to an island" for a few days and enjoy diving and fun...yet also have quiet evenings and see the ocean from my room. Balinsasayaw Resort was perfect for me.
From the moment I got off the airplane I felt taken care of. THey arranged airport pickup and a quick boatride to the hotel.the food was delicious and abundant. I am a vegetarian and i was told that Philippines was a very difficult place to go for vegetarians. I told them in advance my needs and they had the cooks trained to serve me really good meals! I ate big portions of Filipino, Chinese and Italian dishes (after days of scuba diving one is hungry!).
The room I was in was not right on the beach...rather a little up from their beach....and it had a pretty amazing, unrestricted view of water and an island beyond. There is corol outside the resort, so snorkeling and DIving can be done from there itself.
It is probably the closest resort to the main attractions of Coron.a quick 10 min boatride takes you to the twin lagoons, barracuda lake, etc.and by boat to the hotsprings avoids the hike altogether. At the same time the resort is completely alone on this island. So its location is ideal for those wanting peace but at same time being not so far.
They are a new place so they are very attentive ....but being new they are not yet set up for their own dive center. This is coming (apparently) but until then they work with Coron divers. Coron divers is the cheapest, and it was fun and professional, but some of their equiptment is old....and until they refresh their supply, I recommend possibly other dive centers. But i loved DIving with them. They even picked me up daily from the resort at no extra charge.
The rooms are far better than the pictures. Very refined and elegant.
I was given a good discount. Perhaps they'll have one for you, too?
Staff was friendly and abundant, willing to do everything for me. They had fun activities and were always laughing and helpful. There are 3 boats for transport to islands and activities. They arrange daily activities for people.in the evening they can show movies if youbwant. They have a lot of videos. They had a kareoke one night which was fun. The dining is far enough away from the rooms not to disturb.
Apparently they have WIFI, but when i went, there was no internet. One of the managers allowed me to check email on her phone. They also told me they could arrange transport to the town if I needed more communication. The internet might be ready now.but the main thing is that even when there was something not perfect, they thought of solutions and were really sweet and helpful.
I recommend this place. It had everything I wanted.

Queue the music and beware!!!
Day prior: We set up transportation to the hotel. Unfortunately our flight is an overnight flight and lands at 0730 am. They are kind and say no problem and will arrange our free shuttle and look for the sign with our name and we can basically hang out until check in. Sounds great!!
Day of arrival: We arrived early around 0725. No sign to be found. We instead got hassled by taxi drivers saying do you want to go to coron town 150 peso each. I'm like, no we already have arranged transportation. 15 minutes later after everyone found their hotels that showed up, we found our sign laying on the ground with nobody!! We told the lead taxi guy who basically said "we missed them" and we had to wait OR pay to go to the town. I called the resort, who supported this lead taxi guy, and said we had to wait. But nobody could tell us what time that was. Then they said some guy named Lupe is going to come pick us up in 30 minutes. Well Lupe never shows up either! And the taxi guy again tries to get us to pay for a taxi even though this is supposed to be a free "airport shuttle". I called the hotel who won't answer at all!
I would strongly advise people to reconsider booking this "resort". The idea of a remote island sounds great but the food and tours are triple than what's in town. The HUGE lack of customer service, is appalling. How can you pay for some place that cannot even support their own guest while they are getting played by a taxi cab service?
To say the least, after being stranded for three hours, we found a way into town and the hotel still would not answer their phones!! We called a total of three times and absolutely, nothing from them.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here in April 2012 with an all-inclusive package. The resort is very isolated on an island and is very intimate. There were lots of staff members and few guests, giving it a very personal touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious here and there was lots of it. There wasn`t a menu. They just brought lots of various dishes to us each time.
There is no real beach at the resort and you need to take a boat everywhere you want to go. Most of the tourist attractions are water-related - snorkelling, diving, swimming, and a hot spring. The snorkelling areas and lakes were absolutely beautiful and it hasn`t been overrun by tourists yet.
The one thing to keep in mind is that everything tends to be slow-paced on the island. When you need to take a boat somewhere, you can expect to have to wait since they often wait for other hotel guests to avoid making many trips.
There is no electricity on the island except for when they turn the generator on in the evenings, but you can always charge equipment at the main office if you need to.
Our package included pick-up from the airport and the vans are all new and in great shape. They drove us to the beach-side where we had to wait for a few minutes before a hotel-worker showed us to a boat that took us the 10-minute trip to the resort.
Overall, it was a great experience and we`d love to return.

I read about Balinsasayaw Resort right here on trip advisor and chose to ignore all warnings about the limited electricity supply. And what a fantastic choice it was. The resort is the only thing on Uson island, which is a 10 minute boat ride from Coron town. The place is gorgeous, the rooms are super clean and the service is just fabulous.
We reached Balinsasayaw after several delayed flights from Mumbai, a 45-minute car ride (arranged by them) and a 10 minute banca ride. We were exhausted, irritable and just plain jaded by our travel but walking on to the pier to enter the resort melted away all those negative feels. The cool breeze and beauty of the resort felt like a tight hug from an old friend!
We reached at around 3.30 pm, so there was no electricity and the kitchen was closed. However, the friendly staff sensed our distress and offered iced tea and a ham and cheese sandwich, both delicious and much needed. We settled into our cottage, explored the resort and plonked ourselves on the hammocks. The restaurant staff confirmed our meals and asked us to figure out our day trips. The famous lakes and lagoons of Coron were top of our list, so that's what we did the next day. Lakes Kayangan and Barracuda and the twin lagoon are just a 15-20 minute ride from the resort, since they are just across the island from Uson (the ride is longer from main Coron town). The resort arranged everything for us from banca rides, to meals and our guide, Jay Maurer, who took us to the best snorkel spots! He was friendly and a good conversationalist.
Over the next few days, we took the banca tours to Pas Island and the Coral Reef Garden. We also saw the WWII Japanese gun boat and another sunken boat spot with lots of pretty fish. We spotted Lion Fish, Barracuda and other colourful fish I couldn't recognise. The coral reef spots are supremely gorgeous!! Must go :)
We also made a couple of trips to Coron town. The resort would arrange for the Banca on fairly short notice, so we were not inconvenienced in anyway. The meals at Balinsasayaw were delicious, but be prepared for set meals. There isn't an a la carte menu that you can order off of. Their restaurant in the town offers a more expansive menu and great local food. Check it out on your walk around town.
If you want to stay at the resort, there's plenty you can do. You could kick back and idle, read, walk around the property, or get a massage (need to book in advance). The water surrounding the resort has good coral, LOTS of starfish and other small fish. Just take your snorkel equipment and swim around. You can also swim / paddle up to their floating house about a kilometre into the water and spend the day there - meals will be brought to you. Make sure you wear your water booties though, as the coral can cause or stone fish can cause grievous injuries. My friend chose to wander in without them, on our last day, and got a deep and painful cut on the arch of his foot. The staff immediately administered first aid and Jay rushed him to a nearby local hospital. The resort even bore the cost for some of the medicines, totally unnecessary, but they insisted. It was really sweet of them! We finished this day off with a really good meal and great wine at their restaurant in town.
The only improvement I would suggest is to upgrade the bathrooms. They weren't as clean as I would have liked - maybe it was the tiles. I think they should just renovate those and the place will be perfect. I will definitely go back to Balinsasayaw if I head to Coron again!

Hi. It is almost 4 years ago that we visited this lovely place. Our son organised it . We travelled by Bangka from Coron to Uson island. The snorkelling trip was excellent and we were picked up from the resort. We were away all day and visited different areas. A delicious lunch was served on a beach. Even if you don’t enjoy snorkelling, the lakes were wonderful for swimming. The resort itself was quiet and just offshore there is a platform with a hut which you can swim to or use one of the wooden boats to row yourself.
and there is no park fees by the way. The price i told you includes everything already.
Yes they do!
