For the purpose of this review, I will confine myself solely to the Hotel as sadly, I was not a fan of Coron but that's largely irrelevant here, as this is a review of my accommodation whilst there and not Coron per se'. In which case, should you be considering a stay at the Blue Waters Inn I hear you ask? Well, and this is a difficult one but on reflection, for me it was not a good fit. On the basis that we all seek different things when away, best then to simply list the Good & the Not so Good points, then it'll be up to you to decide for yourself. Fair? I think so. Good Points Room 301 is a large room classed as a Standard Queen room, which overall, I thought looked very nice. I especially liked the bed which felt very comfortable though hard but, I like hard so all good. The bathroom appears clean and the towels smell fantastic! The TV has a number of English speaking channels available, including CNN which is also nice as I'm a news buff. Wifi is intermittent but, I'm on holiday so we'll forgive the odd drop-out. There is a guest lounge on the second floor which is another nice touch and the staff were always courteous and pleasant during my brief 2 night stay, as indeed you'd expect in the Philippines. For security purposes, the lobby is manned 24 hours a day, though you may occasionally find the night guard 'resting', his eyes, as well as his body during wee small hours! Lol! Finally, price USD 88.90, this for two nights (March 2020). Difficult to argue against such value. Not so Good Points The plumbed-in bidet hose was forever leaking, even when supposedly fixed. This meant the bathroom floor never properly dried out and was a real pain when getting ready to go out. The handle of the bathroom window had broken off which meant the window could not be closed. This was also a real pain as the noise from outside was at times unbearable. Yes, literally unbearable! A corner room is normally to be welcomed as they tend to be larger in size, however, as the walls were so thin, there was absolutely no escaping the noise, and it started at 06:00 with 'singing' dustcarts. Honestly, you couldn't make it up! Other smaller issues included guests putting out their wet laundry on the stairwell banisters (who does that? Have they never stayed in a proper hotel before or heard of 'Laundry'?). BWI charging guests 80 php for the privilege of renting (borrowing) a hotel towel? Oh Pleasssse, that's just being mean! As is customary, I write notes whilst at a hotel as this provides for much greater accuracy when actually penning reviews, certainly more than memory alone so, it's worth repeating some large block writing across the booking conformation from Agoda which simply read; Noise - Unbearable. Glad to be leaving. To be fair and balanced, The Blue waters Inn, Coron, is not a bad hotel, it was just not for me, for all of the reasons outlined above. But you however, may feel differently... As always, happy and safe travelling. Phil…
We stayed here for two nights when visiting Coron Town. The location is really great if you are looking to be in the middle of the town and walk everywhere, which was important to us. The staff is very helpful - they arranged a private boat for us to do a do island hopping and also transportation to the ferry the next day. Our room was on the first floor and very and included a TV. There was a window that looked out to the hallway which was a little odd. The only other window was a small one in the bathroom. The WiFi was a real challenge - i knew when booking it wouldn’t work in the room but was meant to work in the common areas. When sitting in the common areas - even under the modem - it didnt really work.
Nice looking hotel situated right in town and walking distance from everything. Close to the water therefore the boat day excursions are a couple minutes walk away, There is a great restaurant beside the hotel that serves local food at a very cheap price for the town as some restaurants are the same prices as Canada/US. The room was small but that's all we needed. The hotel was almost fully booked and we could only stay one night.
Couldn't complain about this hotel at all. Hotel was very clean and seems pretty new, it's like home away from home to us. WIFI was only available at Reception area so that gave us the opportunity to get chatting with other guests as well as the reception team and hotel manager who were very friendly and attentive. The hotel isn’t anything luxury, but the staff are definitely what makes this place amazing!Hotel located in the middle of town which has a few nice places to eat etc. We would recommend this little gem and will 100% be back.
Great hotel in a perfect location in the centre of town with loads of bars and restaurants a few minutes away. The hotel is nice and new with a lovely decor and very clean. The hotel staff can’t do enough to help you - even carried my very heavy bag to our room on the top floor (there are no elevators). There is a lovely cafe space (not quite up and running during our stay but the space was completed) on the top floor which will be a little haven to enjoy the sunset. The rooms don’t have outward facing windows so you don’t get a room with a view but with the cafe space and plenty of bars nearby offering room top views this definitely wasn’t a problem for us. The rooms are perfectly equipped for a short stay and considering it’s central location were fairly quiet. The hotel offered a transfer from the airport which was an added bonus.…
