Had a lovely time diving and staying at the pirates resort. Being just coming out of the pandemic we were lucky to be the only ones on the boat along with another diver. Paul the owner takes good care of the resort and his team. He also knows what diving and fun dives really mean so goes the extra mile to make sure you have a good time diving. The staff at the resort were also fantastic. Dada and Ron at the bar , rusty and everyone else involved makes this place feel like a home away from home. Great job Paul and I certainly look forward to coming back and getting on the real pirates boat and maybe even the tree house. The rooms are well designed keeping Filipino architecture in mind and very simple. Beautiful gardens around etx. If I can comment on one thing that I would have like better was probably the air conditioning. I like a cold room when I stay but again this was minor. Everything else made up for this The diving is also worth mentioning. Really good wreck dives but visibility is not the best but still lovely wreck dives. The ride out to the dive sites are a good 1 hour 20 mins atleast so prepare for the journey but the scenery and surroundings you’ll see on the way are one of the best in the Philippines. Thanks again to the pirates team for making this trip one to remember. Till next time.…
We loved this place! It’s tucked away just off the main street in Coron and was everything we could have asked for. All the staff were really attentive, helpful and nothing was too much to ask for. The food and drinks served were all fresh, homemade and delicious. The grounds are beautifully kept, you really feel like you’re in a tropical garden which is just what we wanted from a trip to the Philippines. Thank you to all the staff that work here, you made our trip one to remember.
We had a really good stay here. The resort and food was amazing, clean and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly. I would definitely stay here again when out this way. I would also recommend to all my friends and family. Liam and Lauren from the UK.
Great place ,Very friendly and helpfull staff. Loved it there. Diving in Coron is good, and the wreck diving is awesome. The pirate tavern bar, was a great place to hang out and chill with live music.
Paul, the resort side of things and Pete, the dive side of things are both lovely and the staff give a warm welcome and are happy to help with everything from tricycles, boat tours, snorkle and masks, towels, diving, recommendations you name it. They go above and beyond in helping. You will be besotted at the tree house, we got to see it and its amazing. (We stayed in the cute bungalow huts) Bar/Pool Area: The bar area is super cute and pirate themed but the right balance. It has live music nearly every night. However, I think some more comfy cushions or a cushion pad all along would perfect this bar area 🥳 Pool is super adorable and perfect for the open water diving and just great addition. We loved the pool and was the perfect temperature. Rooms: The rooms are super cute little individual huts and are changed every day as wood shavings from the adorable wooden roof will drop onto the bed/floor during the day even though it is clean so rest assured clean and tidy! Showers are tiled and clean and offer some toiletries we hadn't got anywhere else. Diving: Pete and a lovely girl arranged our three dives for the saturday. Some kit needed altering with regulators etc while on the boat but thats not uncommon and to be expected and locations were discussed with us. I love the chilled vibe, i would maybe like to of had all the kit sorted the night before or morning before we left though. We were both advanced divers and were offered to use a dive computers for the trip at no additional cost which was awesome! They gave us towels after the dive which was a excellent touch as i always get cold. Speak to Paul he is more than willing to help with places to eat / where to go and organised our private boat tour for us. Theres still alittle bit of construction work on going at the back but this will be without a doubt, Corons hidden gem when this is complete. Thank your for everything guys xx…
We stayed in the amazing tree house. Paul and the family of Pirates make us felt very welcome. Thank you for the great service and help. You are excellent. Even breakfast was small but delicious. We ll see you again, when I come to Coron. LG Bert & Sarah
Public service announcement; this location is having problems with travel websites double booking them as apparently there is poor communication between sites as to availability. This is not the fault of the location, but definitely call direct to book your stay so you can be sure you get everything sorted out! This place is fantastic! I have never been so impressed and pleased with a staff and location as I am with Pirates. Paul, the owner, is a genuinely nice guy and quite easy to work with. He took my handicap situation in stride and got me out on 6 great dives while my girl got her certification dives done. The amenities were comfortable, the new pool refreshing, and the staff very accommodating. We stayed in a cabana for a few days and the tree house for the last, which was amazing, but if it weren’t autumn that room would be uncomfortably hot as it does not have A/C. We absolutely fell in love with Divemaster Noeme! She is a rockstar and we miss her already. Peter was a very patient and kind instructor. I’d recommend teaching the barmaids to do mixed and frozen drinks to make things truly spectacular, but that’s about the only shortcoming I can think of. Well done, guys! …
Pirates DR is fun and exciting concept located down a fairly quiet street about 5-10 minutes from downtown Coron. The decor is novel and pirate themed and the staff are friendly, informal, and inviting. Though when we arrived, the resort was still a work-in-progress & some of the facilities were unavailable. The resort wasn't overly busy & we didn't see many other guests there. There was construction ongoing at one of the bungalows & the pool is still being finished off. Unfortunately I wasn't able to dive with Pirates due to last minute cancellations which was quite disappointing but I was glad to be told about this early enough to be able to go elsewhere (Reggae Dive Center is a 3 minute walk away & is a very professional and well established dive center) Despite all this, Pirates has the makings of a fun and well facilitated dive resort and I'm sure that in a few months, when things are up and running, it will be a great place for couples & families to stay and try out diving in Coron. One facility which did not disappoint was the bar. The bar theme is themed as a pirate ship and has quite a good selection of drinks including beers & rums to choose from. Every night there is a live music "jam session" which we enjoyed very much. If you don't quite fancy heading into Coron town for the night then you can stay and relax at the resort, have a few beers, and jam out at the bar. Bringing a bit of liveliness and hospitality to an otherwise quiet and somewhat sleepy part of town.…
A faboulous place to stay, this little resort has been built to blend in with traditions and the surroundings. The place is not yet finished but what is completed has had some clever thought gone into it. While we were there they were tryying to get the pool finished which will be very nice when its finished. We were in one of the standard bungalows which although not massive was very clean and had a very nice bathroom with a strong and hot shower. The bed was comfortable and the AC was fairly quiet and cooled the room down quickly. We liked the style with the traditional thatched grass roof with concrete walls.. the only slight negative the wood look alike paint on the floor had come off in a few places which is a shame but no issue. The owner said it woulfd be repaintes as soon as they could get a couple of nights without guests. The staff were really helpful and arranged a couple of private boat tours, which were amazing. Coron town isnt the prettiest place, but once out on the boat, it was the best sceanary, breath taking at times. The hotel is is ideally located, easy to walk into the town and only a few minutes by trike to where the boats go out for the trips. We did not dive, but some of the other guests were taking a course and said it was fabulous. Overall a very nice place to stay.…
We stayed here for 3 nights it was absoulty great and the best place we found in the Philippines, also good service they could not do enough for us, we will be going back next year 100% and cant wait, it is a very good location next to the town but not to close so still quite i really like the way the resort has been build with a mixture of modern where you need it but still native enough to make you feel your somwhere specail. the dive shop and the dive shop staff where again great my partner done a discover scuba diving program and i have never seen such a professional dive shop as pirates, i can reccommend this place to anyone it has something for everyone,
