Acacia Garden Inn is conveniently located near the main road where the restaurants and shops are. You can take a tricycle which will only cost 10 pesos. If you want to rent a motorcycle there's a rental shop right across the street. The building is clean and it has a really charming terrace. The standard room that we had is small but its totally fine for two persons. It has two single beds, TV w/ cable, hangers, and a bathroom with toiletries. They provide overflowing tea and coffee free for its guests which is a nice touch. Our breakfast is okay and but all the other a la carte dishes we ordered from their restaurant is soooper delicious! They also arranged our private island hopping tour which was hassle-free because they prepared everything for us, we just gave them a list of the islands/beaches we wanted to visit, plus a couple of other requests and then the next day we were good to go. We were so thankful for the boat captain and tour guide that we had. They are simply the best! They were so patient and it wouldn't be as memorable if it weren't for them. The boat captain told us that they always cater to Acacia Garden guests so if you want to do your private tours with them (highly recommended!), I suggest you book a stay here! We would definitely go back here in Coron and stay here at Acacia Garden Inn again!…
The hotel has the best value for solo traveler who would like a private room in a nice quiet part of the town. The only catch is while it's still within the town proper (around 5 mins walk away from the main road), it's still quite far from the busy part of town, where one might dine or drink and get supplies (that would be one tricycle ride away). But, the place has overflowing coffee and tea and full restaurant/bar, so you've got pretty much everything you need. Beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is clean. I was dropped off after the tour, and some of the foreigners who were riding with me found the place charming, and said it's worth it. I just wished that the restaurant staff is a bit more agile - it took time for them to serve ordered dinners and sometimes, even pre-ordered breakfast. Otherwise, the rest of the reception staff were excellent, giving sound recommendations on where to eat and what tours to join. :)…
We stayed for 4 nights in Acacia Garden Hotel and our stay was nice. The staff really helped us with what we need. Overall it is a great stay and we will comeback to this hotel if ever we will go back to Coron in the near future.
This hotel feels a bit out of the way from the central areas however a trik ride in is only 10-15 peso each person. The wifi is nearly non existent which is consistent around the island but is worse at the hotel. The hotel feels very new and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was good and they offered sandwiches on the morning we left early. The restaurant food was good and the beer is cheap there.
The location is good, if you want to be just outside of the busy town. Too long for us to walk in the heat but we rented a moped from across the road which was great! The garden area is nice to sit in - cute lights and a well stocked bar with very reasonable prices. There was a good selection of food (unless vegetarian!). Our room was pleasant. A good size, good bathroom and cleaned to a high standard. On to the less positive points... Breakfast is poor. There is a limited selection to choose from - which must be done the evening before for some unknown reason (as you don’t have to specify a time so isn’t cooked beforehand) - and the breakfast times are not good, can only eat between 6.30 and 8. They get everyone’s orders wrong and it is very small; the omelette is made with one egg. We decided to dine there one evening which was a disaster. We are both vegetarian and ordered vegetarian noodles (off of the section titled ‘vegetarian’). Both came out with chicken. We said this wasn’t right and got a blank stare and were told they would pick the chicken out. We said this was not acceptable so they reluctantly made more. My husband finished his and there were small pieces of shredded chicken on the plate and a few forkfuls in to mine, there was more chicken! I complained and again, no apology, no understanding (despite explaining to them I do not eat meat and this was not a language barrier - their English was excellent). They offered to make another to which I said no. They then proceeded to charge us for this meal in check out!! The staff are just so poor overall. They are far more interested in looking at their phones / playing games on them and this is what really lets this place down.…
We really like our stay in Acacia Garden. The location is great . You can't hear busy road near by. Easy walk to town. Staff is great, helped us to organise private tour and always happy to answer all our questions. Thank you
First place we stayed in Coron and we weren’t expecting much for 40CAD$ a night. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the atmosphere. The beds were a little stiff and they just had a sheet but for us Canadians it worked good for warmth. The acacia was very clean and the staff was very good. We would recommend anyone to stay in acacia as it was off the busy Main Street and quiet at night.
Firstly the location of the hotel was good for me. A good ten minutes walk from the main part of town so close enough to walk to but away from the noise so I could get a decent sleep. On my last night I was a bit knackered from boat trips and kayaking and went to the nearby Island Brasserie for some wonderful comfort food. I am guessing about a 4 or 5 minute walk. The courtyard is nice with a couple of big trees and a pleasant area for breakfast, other meal or drink. My room was OK, nothing remarkable but clean and comfortable. WIFI was only in the reception area and a bit sketchy at times but that is not dissimilar to anywhere else in Coron. When I first checked in I spoke to reception staff about booking a private boat tour. I told them that I wanted to leave early to avoid the crowds. It did take some time for hotel staff to fully understand what I wanted but once they did they arranged for a guide to pick me up at 6.30am. This worked extremely well for me. The guide firstly assisted me to get some fresh fish and vegetables at the market and our boat left the dock a few minutes after 7am. By leaving early I was the only person in the water at Lake Kayangan and Twin Lagoon, these places normally are absolutely packed on organised tours, but for me I could only hear the birds and look at the crystal clear water. Same with Banol Beach, a lovely beach but very small, so luckily I had it virtually to myself. On the way back we went to Barracuda lake which had some tourists but not too many and very nice and Siete Pecados for a good snorkle. The price was the same with the hotel or going to the dock and booking it there. Booking at the hotel worked as they made sure of the early start and made phone calls to ensure this occurred. The following day I took a local van to Conception on the Western (quiet and lovely) part of the island where I rented a kayak to paddle through a mangrove area. Hotel staff helped me to locate where the local vans departed from. Hotel staff were always friendly to me, when I came back from kayaking they invited me to join them in eating some local food and as I said before their help in booking the private boat really made for a great Coron experience for me.…
Acacia Garden Inn is clean and simple but not value for money. Every care is taken for the hotel to save money, at guests' expense, and it showed in our stay. Staff had no maps of the town or island, and when they were not on Facebook, made jokes about guests in Tagalog while they stood nearby, (apparently my bug-spray was too strong). Reception had no cushions on seats. In-room Air-conditioning was loud, wifi was very limited and breakfast was minimal, with no fruit, and we had to repeatedly ask for additional ingredients in our omelette. The bar outside is pleasant, but an additional, separate revenue stream for the hotel. We moved hotels and had a wonderful time in our next one, and a much better feel for the town and island.
Myself and my girlfriend have just stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel itself is in a ok location a good 15 mins walk to the main centre. We are young and fit and still had to pay for a tuk tuk to get back after dinner every night. The wifi barely worked which I found quite annoying. The breakfast is included but you have to order the night before and it is not appetising at all. It seems they put no effort into the preparation. If you are going to offer breakfast at least put a little bit of work into making it good enough to eat, otherwise you may as well not bother. In fact we had to eat an hour later at the island Brasserie just down the road, which I would highly recommend. We asked to put some washing in. They told us the minimum is 3kg. It took a day to come back and cost us 365 pesos triple what we paid in El Nido and had more clothes! The service in general is really bad. The staff just sit around chatting half of the time and when you ask them something it takes them a long time to even register that you are talking to them! There are so many positive reviews on here, which is the reason we booked in, but I just cant work out why? I would personally suggest that you spend a little extra and get a better place. …
