The rooms are small, without a refrigerator. Breakfast has to be booked and selected the day before and is simply horrible, served through a window, with guests having to remove used dishes.
With the exception of the pool and surrounding area, there is nothing recommendable.

1. Upon arrival at the Coron Airport, we were greeted by drivers and have asked us where we were staying. We told one of them that it would be Coron Soleil Express Hotel. The shuttle was complimentary ride and drove us straight to the hotel which I believe it was a 30-minute ride. We were hesitant to go inside the vans as there was no placard that stated that they are one of the hotel staff and they have no ID's but we still decided to go with them. We just trust our instinct and hope for the best :)
2. As soon as they dropped us off we were greeted by staff in the lobby of 'Soleil Garden Resort' and provided us welcome drinks. They directed us at the Soleil Express which was located at the back of the resort.
3. Room - Room was big and clean. AC needed a 5-minute start to cool. Bed and pillows were firm and comfortable. Wifi is ok for Philippine standard wifi internet speed average (if you lived outside the country, consider the Phil internet speed to be extremely slow).
4. Breakfast at Soleil Garden - wide selection of great Filipino breakfast dishes with a choice of eggs cooked to your liking. They got detox water as one of the choices if you don't want juices. Restaurant and bar staff are extremely friendly.
5. Kettle, mugs and hair dryer are not found in rooms but you could ask for it and they will provide it for you.
6. Pool - was extremely clean and pool temperature is perfect for hot weather.
Cons:
1. Breakfast at Soleil Express - How should I start? Soleil Express Resort has an ala-carte breakfast area. Soleil Garden Resort has a buffet style area. We opted not to try the ala-carte but went to the buffet style restaurant. It wasn't complimentary unless I think you're staying at the Soleil Garden Resort. We have to pay Php 200 per head. The breakfast has a wide selection of great Filipino dishes (one of the pros) but they need to do something special for the guests staying at Soleil Express Resort. Afterall, this is not a cheap hotel and we paid a hefty price to stay for 5 nights.
2. Reception staff - it depends on their mood if they will greet you or not. They seem to be moody if you ask for something. The pool staff, restaurant/bar staff, even Kuya guard at the guard house are way acknowledging and friendlier than the reception staff. The last time I informed that I've lost the card key somewhere and needed a spare one - the receptionist informed aggressively that I have to pay Php 500 for a lost key and I said 'of course' even though I find it really costly just for that staff to stop snapping at me. She could have mentioned it in a much friendlier way. I've also noticed that we went in and out of the lobby and when I was alone with my daughter (we are both Filipino) we are not greeted with hellos. But as soon as I've walked in with my partner (British) they were extremely happy and greeted us with all smiles. I even pointed this out to my daughter. I do hope that this won't continue.
3. Hotel Amenities - we rarely used the hotel amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and soap as we already have our own. However, the housekeeping staff likes to put the amenities on daily basis instead of replacing the ones we've used. Our bathroom ended up with loads of hotel amenities. I asked if they have room slippers and I was told that it wasn't free and that I have to pay Php 80 if I want to have room slippers.
4. The hotel was nowhere near a beach and you have to go to Coron Town Proper for tours/beach area.
Points to ponder:
1. If you go to Coron Town Proper, the tricycle costs Php 20 per head. Please be wary if they charge you more. Just check first with the driver if the costs are the same as it is only a 5-minute ride to town proper.
2. Basic necessities such as toiletries and medicines are way expensive in Coron. Better to bring your own supply or buy some in Manila.
3. Lolo Nonoy's is the best restaurant there is if you want to try Filipino dishes.

For the rooms, while amenities are limited ( no coffee machine, no iron, no hair dryer, etc), they paid it off with a well designed room and quality fixtures. The bath is big and hot shower was worming really well! It is above expectation for the price we paid.
Not to mention strong wifi in room.
Thank you to the staff and ma agement for ta,ing care of us, and ensuring we had delightful stay.
Before i forget- great breakfast option. Their ala carte menu are great too, especially the white fish
P.S To Franzdk your review on this property is full of rubbish, you have the wrong Hotel... the only Mediocre is you!
Do not get confused by the pictures. The hotel is located in a backyard with no light, dirty, staff is completely incompetent and amateurish. We booked via EXPEDIA a queen size bed. Once there we were kept waiting till evening to finally give us what we had paid. The hotelier tried to give us two separate beds on the grounds that "YOU'RE TWO MEN, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SLEEP TOGETHER IN A QUEEN SIZE BED ...". The restaurant is to be avoided like the plague: bed food, expensive and dirty. The breakfast included in the price is 1 piece of toast and a little marmalade ... they will not let you approach the buffet ...
Stayed five days at the soleil express booked thru Agoda which gives it a 8.4 rating ( unfortunately we did not check the TripAdvisor rating - Our fault !!)
First things first this is not the soleil gardens which some reviewers seem to be getting mixed up with on agoda.
The express is basically a glorified ( expensive) hostel behind the soleil gardens.Â
Unlike tripadvisor the amenities/ items listed in your room ( especially agoda) are wrong ,please read especially if you are staying more than one night .
1 _ There is no safe - so you either lumber round your valuables or every time you go out book out every item in the main lobby safe .
2_ There is no fridge - so no bringing back any drinks/ foods etc .
3- No hairdryer/iron in room - keep going to reception every time you have a swim / shower.
4-No cupboards etc so if more than one day stay good luck with your clothes.
5- No kettle no tea drinking facilities etc.
6- In many agoda "local" reviews the airport transport is mentioned as free / complimentary _ it is not as soon as you get took to the express reception you are charged which is a nice introduction ( the hotel driver does not mention this ,and tells you just to get in on arrival).
7- Weird one this - not that your planning on staying in your room but there is little or no natural light - the soleil gardens hotel is literally six feet from your window so your view is of a brickwall.
8-Free breakfast on agoda hotel facilities icons - but is extra.
The rooms are kept very clean and the a/c is excellent - for us personally we would not of booked due to the lack of amenities and only booked on the strength of Agodas overview icons. It falls in between too expensive for a hostel and too poor for a hotel .If staying at the gardens you get all the above amenities mentioned and the grounds themselves are really smart as is the pool but room wise i have stayed in better/ cheaper hostels.
