Me and my gf really enjoyed our stay at MO2 Westown Lagoon. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. The food was surprisingly good (I recommend trying their food!). The pool was very nice, with some nice palms giving some perfect shade from the sun during the day. The pool area was beautiful at night, giving opportunity for some nice picture moments.

The rooms were in general clean, and the crew was fast and efficient at cleaning the room in the mornings! We did find some ants in the bathroom, that was quickly fixed with a little spray (sorry ants :( ), that the hotel quickly provided. The aircondition was a little noisy, but very effective, and was overall just fine.
Perhaps my biggest sorrow was the lack of a fridge at the room, which I hope they will consider adding in the future.

Lagoon offers much value for $ we should have stayed put here throughout our 5day trip in Coron. Prior to the trip, we played into our itchy fingers and crossed over to the dark side or Resort. All that glitters is not gold indeed.

We love Lagoon for the following -

1. Pool. Weirdly circular, this is not the pool to have a full workout. It’s meant to be a fun space for kids and families. You can also read a book under the shade, or enjoy a drink as the beach chairs are located very near to the pool. It’s also quite romantic to walk at night or chat at the swing, more so if you stay on the ground floor.

2. Room. If you like direct pool access, this is a good place as we love how we can jump into the pool. The balcony is also quite spacious and shaded. There is no shower gel so BYO. No fridge as well but first bucket of ice is FOC.

3. Service and food. Above average and everyone is so friendly. Love the frozen margaritas/daiquiris for this price. Comparatively beer is expensive. The seafood sundried tomato pizza was good too.

Overall, we loved the Lagoon. Value for $, good service and cocktails.

We spent 4 nights at the MO2 and thought it was great value for money. The location is out of town but it's easy to get in and out on a tricycle very cheaply. Much preferred being in a quieter location rather than stuck in the noise of Coron. The room was a good size with a nice view of the pool, bathroom was big and it was all kept very clean. Wifi not great but the best we had in Coron. The staff at reception were not particularly friendly or helpful though, when we needed a room for an extra night due to the typhoon we were told the hotel was fully booked despite there being a room available online.

I would not stay here, booked the wrong dates and they refused to refund me when they couldn’t accommodate the real dates; not even 75% of my booking. Took the money out of my account but claimed booking.com didn’t send it through. Room was still booked so they are either having me for free or lying about booking.com not paying them.

This is the worst place to stay in Coron, everything is overpriced, including the worst breakfast I’ve ever seen at a hotel. The staff are unaccommodating. They didn’t tell us about the van charge from the airport to the hotel and it was more than double the price of any other van they just told us to get in and charge us later. As well, we had an issue with our ferry being delayed and came back to the hotel and they wouldn’t let us go back into our room even though it was 6am. The staff are rude. The manager was unavailable when we wanted to speak , and overall it is definitely a bad value for the money as well as being way out of the way from everything you want to go to in town. We also heard another guest say they saw rats in the kitchen, jumping around the pots and pans, which is so unsanitary is disgusting. Make sure you book some other place because you will have a bad experience here.

Response from Maj Salumbides, Owner at MO2 Westown Lagoon Coron
Responded Apr 30, 2023
Hi there, We are very sorry about your reviews. But then, we would like to make a response with regards to it. Upon arrival, our airport representative advised you for the shuttle fee that is 250 per person per way. And it is exactly the same price to other van at the airport. And this is not included to your booking. Upon arrival at the property, the Front Desk advised you too, before you check-in. That the shuttle has an extra charge that is not included to your reservation. It is also posted at the front desk area with the price on it. It is not true that the staff charged you later, because it is well advised when you arrived and before you check-in. Otherwise, you will refused to ride our van and get other van instead. If you find us over pricing to others. When you check-out, you are complaining everything at the front desk. You don't want to pay for this and for that. You are looking for the Manager at a very early time, that was before 6:00am. The Front Desk called a manager by a phone and report all your complaints. The Manager instructed the front desk to waived all your charges to the shuttle and put it on his account. For you not to be late to your Elnido trip. Because you don't want to pay either. You checked-out the room early because you have a boat trip @ 7:00am . And so, for our standard procedure of check-out the housekeeping will cleared up your room and mark the room as check-out . Remove all the used/dirty linens, prepare to sanitized and clean the room for the next booking. After a couple of hour, you came back and asking for your room to stay back again because your boat trip got delayed and you want us to give your room back after you've checked-out. For consideration, we ask the housekeeping if we can still give you the room after check-out. But the house keeping refused, because it is no longer possible to stay in the room as they are doing the cleaning and sanitation. And about the jumping of rats in the pots and pans. We don't think if that is true, may I ask if you saw that too? We are doing our regular kitchen sanitation and pest control. We are not operating if we didn't passed the Municipal Ordinance for establishment Sanitation Clearance. By the way, if the other guest saw that rats. They might complaint and report it to us immediately. Also, we don't have any rats complaints before. Again, we are very sorry for your reviews. We will take it as a way to much more improvements to our property. Thank you and God bless you. Best regards, Mo2 Westown Lagoon - Admin

This hotel is clean and looks brand new. A smaller hotel, away from the town proper
where all the boats to ride for the excursion. Therefore, it was quite & peaceful, which we liked. We were about 15 mins away from the town.

The staff was friendly and helpful and accommodating.

The hotel was pristine clean.

The room was spacious, with a working shower & toilet. We were 3 adults & baby.

We had a balcony facing the pool.

The pool was clean, but be careful because it is slippery.

The price was fair; around $80 CDN.

I definitely recommend staying here. They do have a shuttle from airport to the hotel and vice versa.

Most of the Coron, Palawan excursion can pick you up and drop off anyway at any hotel.

The hotel disavowed the confirmations about the transfers and breakfast. They didn't want to hear any reason and we had to pay twice for the services. Be careful because they scam you like this. Room acoustics unsatisfactory, you could hear any noise to disturb sleep. At 4.30 the adjacent rooster farm starts crowing as a wake up call. A nightmare......

The hotel is nice and clean. It’s 15 minutes away from the town. The staff are all nice and helpful. The room is spacious and i love the balcony. I booked all of our tours in the hotel and their price is reasonable. They are also helpful with booking our scooters. The food in the restaurant is good and comparable with the ones you’ll get in town. No wi-fi in the room, just in the lobby and restaurant. The pool is nice and clean. This wasn’t my first choice when i was looking for hotel but i’m happy that we stayed here. I didn’t see any insect in the room but this is the tropic and people should expect them everywhere.

This was the best stay we had in the 3-month travel we did, and so we extended our stay for 4 times. The absolutely wonderful staff, was so lovely and helpful… Also, the pool and the surrounding garden was beautiful. Very nice room and comfortable bed that was clean every day. Best stay we had in our 3 month travel!!

Wide bed, nice balcony and swimming pool except the sound of air conditioner was so loud and old school for the hotel. Restaurant and bar was just ok.

You do not need to book a shuttle, they will be outside the airport usually. Some hold signs to say where they drop off and some will ask you where you are going and point you in the right direction. That is the way I have always done it in Philippines. pretty simple. You just need to book the shuttle back to the airport. Hope this helps
