Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights whilst traveling around the Philippines. Before we went we were insure what to expect on this island but we were pleasantly surprised! We had a room with air conditioning which worked well - there was a power cut one night but it was fixed quickly. The showers were powerful and rooms were clean. The actual setting of the hotel was beautiful and so peaceful and calm! People staying on the island were lovely an we met many great and interesting people. They organised a private boat for us to visit the sights and boats to the main island were easy to get - we just had to give them 20 minute notice! Only downside was the pool, if you have blonde hair don’t dip it in as a few girls complained of their hair turning green! Overall we couldn’t…
My partner and I stayed at Discovery Island Resort and we loved it. This little hidden gem is located approx 5 minutes from the main Coron Town by boat. But don’t let that deter you. The resort runs a shuttle boat service all day between 7am and 11pm and you can jump on and off when you need to. Coron Town itself is very busy and discovery island resort provides a peaceful refuge at the end of a busy day exploring. The swimming pool is gorgeous and was very warm. The rooms are older and a bit dated but they are large and clean and they had some really practical storage and hanging spaces. They bake their own bread at the resort and I loved the ‘real’ butter that came with the bread, pancakes and sandwiches! The owner of the resort is really friendly and knowledgeable. All the…
Rooms just fine, location very quiet. Resort is 8 min by boat from the town market but we used to wait for one for almost half an hour. We had to text them to come pick us up at the port. Food is very good but the service is the worst we have ever seen in life! Very slow and not interested, we have been waiting for coffee for an hour! Every time we made an order they forgot something although we were the only guest in the restaurant at the moment. The manager lady booked us a day tour with the local agency The ocean pearl and that trip was a nightmare (overcrowded, old boat with broken angine and worst capetan I have ever seen). Save yourself some nervs and book a room somewhere in the town!
We had a terrible experience at this place. Rooms were not what they show in the pics. Far from the town and a pain in the ass to get there or back. I felt the staff was very non caring and slow. Save you money and stay in town
Yes it is on an island but very remote: there’s nothing else on this island. So you are kind of stuck there. Not for people planning to party in town. Not for people willing to chill neither: there is no beach. Just a pool without view that would need some repairs: paint is chipped out in several places. Food is average. They do not really offer you tours. Not very pro-active to assist you in your stay. Ho and they only clean up room every other day. Will not come back for sure. Apart from that people are friendly and rooms are clean. It is quiet so you’ll sleep well... if you like hard beds.
