The best thing about staying in Discovery Island Resort is that it provides an island-feel, isolated setting from the chaotic urban atmosphere that you have in Coron town which is sadly urbanizing fast and feeling too much touristy already compared 10 years ago , the last time I visited Coron. Here, you can still feel that you really left the city and settled in a more slow life communing with nature and the sea which I believe most people look after when they plan to have their vacation in Coron. The resort doesn't have a Dive Center anymore. The plan to change the business name is on the works. It partners with Neptune Dive Center in town for their guests who wish to experience diving the wrecks of Coron. This place has basic amenities, clean rooms, inviting pool and a fairly wide area to do basic hiking. For me, the most important asset this resort has to offer is the friendly and accomodating staff that took care of me during my entire stay. Shoutout to Rizza, the resort manager, Paul and Ja, the restaurant managers and the boatmen: Noel, Edward, John Rey, Kimson and Tito Nars. Yes, you need to be transported via a banca to go to Lualhati Port in Coron Town and they will fetch you free also from there before 9pm and you can request also to be fetched even late in the evenings as long as you advise the reception desk for a small fee. Overall, I had a relaxing stay in this resort. I am mostly out for the whole day as I did diving and island hopping during my stay here but going back in the evenings to rest and recuperate in the pool was a bliss. The food served in the restaurant also taste good. A perfect setup I could say. This has been a good vacation for me, a great way to start my summer in the Philippines. In case I'll be back again in Coron, I will again choose to stay in this resort.

We had a reunion of old friends and classmates here and while it sometimes was physically tiring, it was well worth the trip. The resort is well maintained though certain portions were undergoing renovation. It has a nice beach front and we had 2 dinners on the beach to maximize our stay. It might be difficult to access some places in the resort as the terrain is up and down and not all stretches are evenly paved . Certain rooms also pose a challenge as they are a couple of stories up with no hand rails to hold onto. At night, it can be a bit dark to walk around in some areas. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The resort staff was helpful from the time we were picked up from the airport to the van ride to the private pier to get on the boat to bring us to the island resort. Food was plentiful with a wide variety to choose from. You can opt to go island hopping or just laze around the swimming pool. Truly a trip worth taking and one for the memory books. Two thumbs up.

We stayed at discovery island for 3 nights. If you want something quiet and close to Coron town, that is the place! The room was inside a private bungallow, it was big, nicely furnished and perfeclty clean. The restaurant was good and not expensive. Staff were super nice and very helpful. They pick you up from Coron pier when you want and drive you back anytime, it's only a 5 minutes boat drive. We recommend this place to watch the sunset from their peer!

Catching a small boat over to the hotel on a small island set up our stay nicely. Even though it is in sight of Coron it felt like a remote tropical island. The staff mostly did a good job; service was friendly and quick. The rooms are basic but big, clean, and watching the sunset out the front was a great ending for a busy day. The restaurant had a mostly western menu with comparable prices to other restaurants in Coron. There was no hot water in the shower. There where no mosquito nets over the beds. There was rubbish in the mangroves that would have been so easy to pick up (and while we where there we did). Plastic outdoor furniture has a cheap feel and it could be replaced with bamboo to fit the surroundings.

Quiet place gives a great feeling of a real get away..away from "reality". You can really feel relaxed. We're checked in for 4 days, 3 nights. First advice is to double check with the resort upon booking, wether your room is air conditioned or not, depending on what you prefer. We booked through their website. We thought or maybe took for granted that all rooms were AC:ed. It wasn't 100% clear on their site. But this matter didn't bother us much at all, since we had 2 electric fans and the nights and early mornings can be cold. Though AC can be nice sometimes for example upon first arrival and every arrival from tours, etc. The resort has an awesome nature, great ambiance..love it! The resort offers tours and massages. Another advice though is to still compare with tour agancies outside the resort. FYI massages are given in your own respective room, some could like it, some may not. For us, it was 50/50, we expected a different area at the resort. It was nice that you can rest directly after massage, downside are the non massage friendly beds and if there are 2 of you having massage in the bed.. yeah you can imagine the space. But it was ofc still good :). We really recommend this place. Romantic, family friendly island resort👌🏼.

Discovery Island is a great little resort. The ten minute boat ride from Coron to the island really sets it apart. Our room was comfortable with quiet and efficient air conditioning. The bar and restaurant are open-air but that suits the atmosphere of the place. The food is a mix of Philippines standards and typical tourist thing such as pizza and burgers. The bar is fine as far as it went but was a bit slack in terms of stocking (no tonic water!). The staff and management were lovely and friendly - but hey, it's the Philippines! The private boat tour was very good indeed - vastly better than the big boats operating from Coron. The airport transfer works exactly as described. Just be sure to leave enough time to work through airport security on the way out.

Room Tip: The newer rooms have aircon. Best to check first as without AC would be quite uncomfortable.

We stayed here for 6 days in Dec 2019. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The service was great and the restaurant food was very good. The room was really nice with a view of the bay. Aircon worked great. Hot water worked too. Ariza and the team (Thanks Starky and Lorna) go above and beyond to ensure guests are happy, which made us cancel our other resort and come back to Discovery. The resort is set among a natural mangrove environment., Its calm and peaceful and away from the town. That said we went pretty crazy a few nights with kareoke and the bar area going off. You can walk all the way around the island too. Pool area is awesome for relaxing, with a infinity style overflow and its close to the bar. We were a couple, but this is good for family's, groups and solo travelers. Free ferry all day/evening to the town is also a great service. We never waited more than 15mins, at either end. There is a small pebble beach, but dont expect white sand beach, it is not advertised as such and doesn't claim to have one, but this didnt change our experience at all. Thanks so much Discovery, I hope to come back some day.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel from December 1 th til December 6 th. The hotel is placed on a little island near Coron. The surroundings is peaceful and quiet which is nice. The staff was smiling and kindly. Although we were unsatisfied with the service. When we told the staff that we wanted to rent a kajak at the place we were told that it was no problem. But when we got to the reception a couple of hours later we were told there was no paddles to the kajaks while a former customer broke the last one. Furthermore we only got our room cleaned once. So overall we it was an okay hotel but don't expect to much of it.

Discovery Island is 10 min boatride from Coron Town. There is only this resort on the island, so enough space, privacy and nature for all guests. Rooms and bungalows are nicely equipped, clean and most of them have ocean view. The pool area is beautiful and hamocks are inviting for a nap on every verandah. The restaurant offers all kind of dishes from french press coffee to burgers and pizza. In case you want to hit the town, there es a boat whenever you need. So escape is easy and after noisy time in town I have always been happy back in my small paradise.

My sister, her boyfriend, and I stayed here for three days and thought that this was such a great deal for what they offered. The airport pickup and dropoff was seamless, and getting to and from town on their boats is pretty easy, too. There are lots of places to relax around the property and the staff is so helpful! We booked a private boat tour with them, which was amazing. Our guide, Joyce, is so funny and sweet and timed everything so we missed the crowds! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
