Panglao Bluewater is a blueprint for the future, creating an escape that honors Bohol’s natural beauty. Nestled in an island with white-sand beaches, pristine waters and marine sanctuaries, the resort’s Filipino architecture and design complement Bohol’s culture, inherent warm hospitality and eco-focused initiatives. The challenge was to introduce a unique design concept that will match well with the environment. Wat the resort came up with is organic yet elegant, innovative and functional. According to designer, Benji Reyes, “There is a feel of luxurious sophistication but not ‘stuffy.’ The atmosphere is kept friendly, comfortable and warm.” Rooms: 86 Rooms (32 Deluxe, 46 Premier Deluxe Pool-view, 4 Family Lofts, 3 Honeymoon Villas and 1 Family Villa) Dining: Aplaya Restaurant (International and authentic local fare, featuring exotic flavors made fresh with local products). Baroto Pool Bar (All-day dining and cocktails). Wi-fi access is available in all outlets. Spa: Amuma Spa Pools: Two free-form lagoon-shaped swimming pools with waterfalls. Recreation: Snorkeling and diving at the adjacent Marine Sanctuary and nearby Balicasag Island, diving safaris, sailing and windsurfing. Game room. Leisure: island activities and theme dinners, fishing and boat tours, cycling around Panglao Island, Dolphin and Whale watching (seasonal). Guided Island eco and adventure tours. More Options: Tropical weddings, romantic private dinners and beach picnics.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel is fantastic and we had a really enjoyable stay overall. There were a few irritations, but on balance we had a great time. We stayed in a deluxe room and our room was so spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the pool, and the bathroom had a lovely big shower. The hotel supplied nice toiletries such as soaps and shampoo and some bottled water each day which was a nice touch. There was also a mini bar and snacks in the room if you wanted to purchase these.

One small criticism of the room was that there were very few drawers to store belongings, but this is a small point as we used the hangers provided and there were two drawers. We also liked that there was a safe to leave your belongings which was helpful and helped us relax a bit more.

We only ate in the restaurant once for breakfast and the food was good. However, we felt that the options for breakfast were a bit limited. We only wanted fruit / a pastry and perhaps a coffee and the menu didn’t cater for this; otherwise we would have frequented the restaurant more often.

The hotel has two nice pools which could do with a bit of maintenance as chunks of the paint were falling off on the pool floor. It was nice though to keep cool in the water and we enjoyed the pool and the staff at the pool bar gave great service and made some great cocktails/drinks. We really enjoyed snorkelling outside the hotel and saw some really cool fish. It was nice that the hotel offered complimentary paddle boarding and kayaking for 15 minutes per person each day.

The hotel is a 20 minute walk to Alona beach but we got a tuk tuk for 100P each way which was better; especially in the heat.

Some negative feedback was that we found it very noisy throughout the night and other guests seemed to have little appreciation for other guests resting / sleeping. People returning to their rooms were noisy and often spoke loudly and were slamming their room doors, and there were no signs reminding people to be respectful of noise levels.

At 4am we were woken almost every day by people talking loudly who were awake to catch early flights / leave early. The security staff were also talking loudly to guests and on their walkie talkies at this time, and there needs to be some training to staff on courtesy and respect to other guests who may be sleeping. I had to go out and ask the security man to be quiet on one occasion as he was shouting in a walkie talkie right outside our room at 4:30am waking us in the process, but despite this, he continued to make noise. Any noise outside rooms carries, and there needs to be more consideration here and to encourage guests and staff to speak quietly. Again it didn’t overlook our stay but if learning can be applied, this would be helpful out of consideration.

Check in and checkout was fast. The property has two-pools to the delight of my kids. We like the room lay-out and its quite a treat to have only a few rooms in the property so you can enjoy your peace and quiet. We were there over the weekend and were happy to know that there was a Sunday mass at the hotel for guests and employees alike.
Food at the restaurant is good and the location is perfect for a relaxing, no-rush breakfast or dinner.
The only bad about this place is the beach. It is quite muddy so you really never get to enjoy it.

Many food choices for their buffet and the hotel is quiet and relaxing. Rooms are tidy and the Aplaya food hall is a mesmerizing open hut traditional style that can be seen in old days. Breakfast with a view of the ocean, sunrise and dinner sunset. Thumbs up.

This hotel is well kept, clean and has really nice staff. The reason we feel totally ripped off is that it sells itself as a "beach" hotel, even posting a totally misguiding photo of the "beach". There is nothing even near a beach! The hotel has a narrow stretch of land by the water, yes, but what could be percieved as "sand" in the image, is actually beige grovel on top of a concrete surface. Entering the water you will find a combination of mud and sticky vegetation. This place was the first we visited on our Phillipines trip and we booked this place for one reason only; to start off our vacation with a few days of luxury, and all the convenience with staying in a good hotel with direct access to the beach. We were SO DISAPPOINTED! We ended up taking tricyles or the hotel van to other resorts, paying loads of money to be able to get what we originally thought we payed Bluewater for; access to beach and the comfort of sunbeds, clean towels, toilets etc. A total scam!

Stayed 3 nights. Room was large, and bathroom was great. Room floor was dusty and we couldn’t walk in the room with bare feet.
Even though the food at the restaurant is generally good and fresh, it is horribly overpriced, and we avoided eating there. At 8am the breakfast buffet has only a few leftovers and they don’t seem to replace anything.
Communication from the front desk is poor. We went there for Valentine’s Day, however nobody informed us of their valentines dinner function. Also no communication about daily dining specials, and they didn’t inform us that their spa was open.
Arranging airport transfer is difficult as communication via Facebook needs improvement.

This is my second time to stay at Bluewaters Panglao Beach Resort. Our first time was in 2011 when the resort just opened. Over time, I think the resort was able to maintain, if not improve, the property when it comes to landscaping and the addition of room accommodations. But given how the COVID 19 pandemic has affected us globally with the tourism industry among the hardest hit, this resort is no exception. They were short-staffed. The buffet breakfast was disappointing. I mean, where can you find a buffet breakfast with no pancakes and cereals for the kids? They also kept on running out of eggs and it just took some time before plates get refilled. Also, expect no slippers and robe this time. One good thing though, their promo rate made it affordable for everybody to go there. It was less than half the price we paid back in 2011.

Don't go here if you want a Beachfront hotel!

They have access to something I can't call a beach where you want to go in and the "sand" going down to the "beach" is concrete looking like sand.

We had to spend our days at another hotel to gain beach access, making our trip way more expensive then we planned for.

I'm desapointed on the false marketing as a beachfront hotel.

On the Pro side, good service, good pool, clean environment.

I think the management need to look into the service especially housekeeping.
For the price you paid,
You get towels which looks dirty.. (looks black instead of white)
They should provide grey colour towels instead of black if they are not able to clean it properly... abit gross to use.
My friends all refused to use
Bed sheet also not very clean.
Worst experience was they charge 2000 peso/night for extra bed which is similar to other 5 stars hotel but they give you a mattress and put on the floor. (Without bedframe?!)
Seriously u expect your guest to sleep on the flpor? Its so dirty to sleep on the floor.
Bedframe was provided when i requested for one.
Staff wore shoe when enter the room. (Seriously??)

Shower gel was not auto-replenished....
Only thing to praise is the availability of safety guards at the pool to monitor the kids and guests. And they are friendly too.

Breakfast not much selections...
To be honest will not return again..

If you want to get in touch with nature, choose this resort. It has a private beach with a nice garden. Place is well-kept, rooms are clean, and their staffs and security are very hospitable. Place is also accessible from other public beach and restaurants. You just need to rent a motorcycle or ride a tricycle.

We love their breakfast buffet especially the breads they serve. They also serve sikwate or also known as hot chocolate from tableya which is very yummy! And oh... They have a fast and stable wifi connection to those who want to work.

We'll come back next time. Thank you Bluewater Panglao! ❤️

The best place to be in Bohol. For a type of person like me and my husband who want a peaceful, laid back kind of stay, i highly recommend Blue Water in Panglao Bohol.

The best ambiance so clean and peaceful. Surrounded by nature at its finest. The place is well kept and maintained. So neat everywhere you look at, you would really feel relaxed and at peace with nature.

And one of the best and noteworthy about this place is their very hospitable people. Special mention to our food attendant, Ms. Marichu. Thank you to your kind and heartwarming service. We would definitely be back to Blue Water because of the quality of service we received.

And of course the best food too. We love all the food we ate. Two thumbs up to the chef, kudos to the kitchen team.of Bluewater, your food is excellent.

Thank you Blue Water for a memorable and wonderful experience. We shall return!

God bless Blue Water and all its people!

Could anyone tell me if the pool has been finished and is the airport runway nearby? If so is it noisy? Thank you 🙏

Hello @Dolly502014, may we know your planned date to visit here in Bohol? As of now the main pool is still under renovation, although the noise level is quite low. February 15, 2024 is the target completion date. Also the resort is 10-15mins ride to the airport.

For their family loft, maximum capacity is 6 adults and 2 kids 11 years and below. 2 adults will be paying extra person charge per night of Php2000 per person. They can set up extra mattress in the room. A party of 8 might can still be accommodated in the room but might already affect your comfort.
