Detailed Reviews
We were very happy with our room as it was one of the newest right on the beach. Our French doors opened out to the beach and we also had a patio deck with a table and chairs. We loved watching all the activity as the boats were coming and going. We had fun playing soccer with the local kids. The sunsets were amazing. There were many restaurants in walking distance. The pool was so clean and refreshing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good location, nice swimming pool, but but but the house (villas vidas) is very old. General renovation is very much needed (see pictures)... The rent is too expensive for the type of villas ( air conditioner are hold by tape, dirty bathrooms and old kitchen). Not to mention the beds... Too soft and cheap mattresses - the result : back pain!!!!

We were a large group, taking the Kiam villa and 3 others spending a week in this wonderful island.
First the positives, and there were so many that I may forget some. The beach is next to the villas, with an amazing view from the bar/pool area. The pool and outdoor jacuzzi were really good specially for our group to spend time together. The bar is very reasonably priced and the food is ok - above average for the places we tried in the island.
There is a small shop with everything you may need just outside the villas complex, but there is a shop inside too. The staff seem to live in, so there is always people at hand when you need them.
The villas are large and all the rooms are air conditioned, althought the A/C did not work in the Living room of the Kiam villa.
We had a problem in one of the rooms - a bird had nested on the false ceiling and was quite active at night. The staff did not manage to get rid of it and the people on that room had trouble sleeping.
Overall the place was not the cleanest, but it was cleaned everyday, most of the utensiles were broken, not enough glassess, not enough cutlery, beds and linen not the most comfortable.
When you are staying in paradise, and this is it by all accounts, you can forgive that not everything is kept in good working order. Hospitality is amazing, not only in the villas, but in the whole Panglao island - every child, youngster and adult we saw smiled and said hello or waived to us.
It is worth doing the tours to Balicasag and Pungtud, Chocolate Hills (for the adrenaline junkies you can fit a zip line valley crossing on the way!) and as it is to enjoy Alona beach - the most touristic place of the island, with banks, shops and restaurant (only 30 minutes walk or PHP300 and 5 minutes away if you don't fancy the walk in the sun). If you go to Alona, enjoy the famous beach massage, either by the ladies in blue overalls or at the beach of the Hotel at the end of the beach, where you can rent loungers in the beach if you have lunch with them (which is recommended)
As I said, Panglao is paradise on Earth and it has not been discovered yet by the big boys, so you get the real local people looking after you - and happy to do so.

This place looks like it might have been amazing... 20 years ago. We stayed in one of their villas. It needs a lot of upkeep and cleaning. We found at least 6 cockroaches and 1 of the 3 washrooms in our villa was DISGUSTING. We just locked the door and settled for the other 2 bathrooms. All the bathrooms need repairs and the furniture is from the 80s. The bedding and furniture was dusty like no one had used them in a little while. Breakfast was included in our stay but only 1 person worked in the restaurant, taking orders, serving and preparing the meals! So it took forever to get anything and the order was never right. We stayed 3 nights and the pool was gross until the morning we left when they finally cleaned it. It’s nicely decorated and designed, but who wants a nicely decorated hotel when it’s filthy?

Booked thru Agoda.com. Had an accident and was not able to make the booking. Charged 100% of cost. Had to make other arrangements because the place was locked up by the time we arrived. Use booking sites that offer cancelation if something happens. Live and learn.

Me and my friends stayed at Villas Vidas on June 21th - 24th.
Actually we enjoyed just 'POOL' which located in front of the pension.
Let me talk about few things.
1) Beach - There is absolutely not good to swimming in the water also Snokerling.
so many seaweeds are floating on the water.
< Alona beach is very far from this resort. It takes about 30minutes by your own feet.
It takes about 10 minutes by the motor cycle.>
2) Location - You will be surprise if you try to getting this resort from Tagbilaran Airport or Tagbilaran Port. It is in the like 'forest'. There is nothing to do for fun. If you want to being isolated, choosing this resort. It would be perfect choice for you.
3) Tranportation - There's no problem if you have a car or motorcycle. But I think it is still problem even if you have your own vehicle. Because of nothing to do there, you will be try to get out of this resort. So you need to pay 600P. It's van fee. If not, you have a choice to take a motorcycle. It costs 50P.
4) Restaurant - It is not bad. But little bit expensive.
5) Staff - They are so nice. There's no problem with them.
6) Security -
*** IT IS TERRIBLE. I LOST MY MONEY IN MY ROOM AT VILLA VIDAS.
ME AND MY BROTHER HAD A PARTY ON THE SECOND FLOOR WITH MY FRIENDS IN THE NIGHT. I TRIED LOCK THE DOORS BUT I COULDN'T LOCK THE VERANDA'S WINDOW. I THINK SOMEBODY STOLE OUR MONEY. WE LOST AROUND 21000P
(ALMOST USD500).
I REALIZED THAT I LOST MY MONEY AT THE PORT.
SO I WENT BACK THIS RESORT TO ASKING FIND MY PRECIOUS MONEY.
I MET THIS RESORT'S MANAGER and OWNER.
SHE DID NOT TRY ANYTHING. WE ARGUED ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE SITUATION. I THOUGHT OWNER AND THIS RESORT'S STAFFS HAS TO BE HELP OUT TO FIND MY MONEY. I FELT SHE SEEMED TO BE POLICE. SHE DID STUPID THINGS LIKE 'INVESTIGATION'.I COULDN'T FORGET THIS "PRECIOUS" EXPERIENCE.
I trusted all of this resort's staffs. But THANKS TO THIS RESORT OWNER, I messed up my vacation.
BE CAREFUL. If you are in trouble, 'they wil not do anything for you' while you are staying at this resort.
And there's lot of better resort more than this resort.
Resonable price , location, staffs and something like that.
-Additional information.
< You can go to the Balicasak Island just 1500P by the boat.( Dolphin Watching and Virgin Island included).
Try to hire the boat owner . You can get them in the Alona beach.
Do not choose this resort's tour. It is 2500p.>
I want to this review would be useful to everyone who wants to having great time in the Bohol Island.

We stayed at room 4 for 3 days and it was horrible!!! They don't have running water to even wash your hands. Everytime we use the shower we have to ask for water. Obviously they know about this because every time we ask they always say they will get it fixed but it will only work for 30 minutes. The water will stop running even in the middle of your shower!
The window A/C was too small it can't cool the whole room off! The owners were there at one time and they did not even bother say hi to their guests they were so busy on their laptops while the workers serve them food.

We rented villa kiam and arent satisfied:
1. Receptionist jomar said we can swim at their beachfront. Cant do that coz it's not meant for swimming instead its more of a dock with tons of slimy seaweed.
2. All bathroom taps and faucets are like breeding grounds for oysters and mussels, cant even touch them.
3. Two (2) out of 5 bathrooms arent working due to clogged drainage.
4. Poor lighting condition and too many lights busted. We requested for bulb replacements but they have all the reasons in the world.
5. One (1) staff said cooking charge is P200.00 so we paid him. But we were still charged before we left. The staff apparently didnt turn over the payment.
6. P600 charge for van use. Its overcharging.
7. They charge P100 for every container of mineral water when regular price is only P35.00 only.
8. They charge 4% for credit card payment. They dont inform the guests of this Hidden Charge despite asking them if they accept card payments. Apparently this is not permitted by the credit card companies.
9. If you inquire on their tours, they automatically take it as a confirmation despite guest advising otherwise.
10. One (1) of their staffs, jomar is downright RUDE. He deliberately turned his back to me in the middle of a not-so-nice conversation due to their hidden charges to attend to a guest. This is despite the fact that there were other receptionists present. He did not even excuse himself, he just turned his back to us & attended to them.

Old Bathrooms/Toilet with rusty sink/bath tub drainage, Stinky shower water, Lots of mosquitoes and cockroaches, the beach is not the standard advertised in their website- there were piled sea grasses by the beach, Unprofessional/Rude Manager/Owner.
On the first day we were welcomed by vast number of mosquitoes & Cockroaches in the Villa. My daughter had a nasty mosquito bite on her forehead, It was swollen for a couple of days. We needed to spray the entire place a number of times. In the morning We would still find lots of cockroaches everywhere. We cooked our own food since it took ages for their restaurant to serve our ordered food but we could hardly eat wondering if some of those cockroaches might land on our food.
On the 7th day we decided to move to Some decent resort since the other members of our family were going home and it would be easier for us to move, only to find out that the Owner of the resort wanted to charge us for an extra night. We went to talk to the owner about it but she just lied to us. She was even arguing with her staff/Jonah in front of us. The staff would remind her of what exactly she said to her the night before I informed them of our decision. She kept saying she did not instruct her such a thing. We did not buy her lies anyway I would rather believe the staff who was there always for us (The staff seemed to be good people). The owner was quite defensive so I did not really want to argue further so not to ruin our remaining day in Bohol. She & her husband instead told us why didn't we move out days before if we had some complaints. Really??? I had to book the place for months for a total of 22people including kids because I was relying on the photos from their website and how could I just easily move the entire gang? and besides we would not make any complain if she did not attempt to rip us off for an extra night.
There were instances as well when the couple would have a conversation using the bisayan dialect in my presence thinking I did not understand the dialect. They were talking about my husband and I that we were just looking for some discounts that's why we had complaint, So I told them shame on you! You were gonna rip us off that was the reason we got complaints!
WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESORT AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

We decided to forfeit our 120 dollar two nights at Panglao Tropical Villas in order to go to where we originally intended - Alona Beach.
Good points:
The staff is friendly and if looking for a quiet, secluded, room to stay in - go here. but DONT go here for the beach, for Restaraunts or socializing.
Bad:
Orignally I was a bit turned off by having to money transfer and no possibility of credit card via internet - and then the slow response of emails
But upon arrival we realized the website was an entire LIE -
It says on the beach, yes, its on a small beach covered with seacrap and not swimmable or lounge-friendly.
We wanted to get lunch, so walked up the beach and realized it smelled awful and there are no other resorts around to walk to. (looking at the website i realize why i wanted to stay there and make me more angry at how much of a lie their site is)
We decided we wanted to go to Alona - which is where the website hints at - we went for lunch and realized - our trip is short and we want to have fun - lets forget about the 120 dollars and stay at a place - equally as nice - actuallyMUCH MUCH nicer that is RIGHT on Alona beach, great food and staff and pool - we stayed at OASIS - AMAZING but all the other places were cheaper and just as good if not better than Tropical Villas
I was going to rate it higher because the staff was nice and the room was nice and if you were only looking to be by yourself not on the beach and do tours then its ok - but after looking at the sight I realized at how much they try to deceive you.
Once you get there is where its actually written that its on Danlao beach and they act like they say that on their website
DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT FUN, BEACH, FOOD OPTIONS and BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
