I was happy to find this resort close to my family’s town for a yearly visit. Pool is clean, AC worked well, free breakfast included every morning, and they were quick to arrange my transport. They are doing work on the rooms so I am excited to come back and see what’s new.

We stayed there during off-season. The website offers free airport pick up/drop off and breakfast for two adults and at a room rate of PHP500. We paid PHP750, paid a stupid amount for rice and chicken, had to argue at length to get breakfast, did not get dropped off at the ferry (instead we paid an outrageous price for a tricycle organized by the caretaker), got a room with a broken shower and no A/C (all other rooms were empty, but they could not give us a room with a working shower), no WIFI and a very dirty swimming pool. The caretaker couldn't care less and just said that the owner is back in the states, that she hasn't updated the website and took the WIFI router with her.
The only reason we chose this place is because we wanted to check out the nearby marine sanctuary. The caretaker told us it was just down the beach when we arrived. However, it was nowhere to be found, neither did locals know about it. So, there's really no reason whatsoever to stay at this rather creepy place.

Response from Emma S, Owner at Emmalyn's Paradise Resort
Responded Jan 15, 2017
I'm sorry you did not enjoy your time at our resort. Recently, hurricanes have devastated the island and left our pool and other amenities unusable. Our booking system is very unorganized because we are still in the process of reconstructing this resort. This resort was unused for over 10 years but we are now making it our duty to make it a 5-star resort. The marine environment around our island is breathtaking if you have the right guide and our resort will offer that soon 🙂. I hope you can visit again one day because you will definitely see amazing changes. One day we hope to give our customers a genuine island experience.

We traveled as a family including our Golden Retriever in December 2018. Emmalyn’s resort is a good enough place to stay in Catanduanes, near the San Andres Port. But since most of the beautiful spots we visited were nearer Virac, we stayed only for one night in this place. There is no restaurant in this resort or any place nearby. Most restaurants are in Virac. The port in San Andres has more flights and better boats than in Virac though.

We stayed here in may. This resort is a very quiet resort for party of 10. We found the place very clean, nice and quiet. The staff seem to be efficient. The weather there was extremely hot, and our room had air conditioning and the pool was in excellent condition.
