So, this was our third trip to Anguilla and we have stayed in different parts of the island. This time we were going to stay for about two weeks and needed the apartment style Villa that SBV offered. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We have traveled all over the Caribbean and have stayed in luxury and more rustic accommodations. This is really a perfect middle ground. It has an authentic, laid back Caribbean feel. But it is also super well-maintained, expertly cleaned, and right on the beach. The apartment style Villas are just lovely in decor and so comfortable (great king bed). The office manager Cathy and daughters Becky and Rachel are super helpful. At first I was concerned about the absence of a restaurant/bar on site but the Villas are literally a stones throw from a great breakfast at the Manoah to the best bar at Elodia (don’t miss Jakita’s rum punch) to the fine dining at Zemi to a half dozen lunch spots in either direction. And of course you can stick up at the local supermarkets about 10 minutes from the Villas. Weather was 82 and sunny every day. We are already planning a return next January. Ps. Don’t hesitate to get a message at Jepunbali on site. The message was heavenly. Also, try snorkeling to the right of the Villas near Elodia. SBV has any equipment you need for the asking. Finally, the people on this Island are all so kind, seem genuinely sweet and helpful.…
Just back from 8 glorious days at Shoal Bay Villas. With the beautiful beach just outside your door, it’s exactly what the doctor ordered after these 18 months of confinement. Cathy and her staff were very helpful in ensuring we arrived safely and with little inconvenience. Having the rental car on site was a plus. Some of the best restaurants were open, including Maderiman, Olas, Tropical Sunset and Gwens all within walking distance. Love that you can grab lunch or dinner with sandy feet. Other great restaurants accessible by car or taxi like Bens, Artisan (best pizza ever), or Ember for views and sunset. Suggest arrival and departure on a weekday to avoid cruise and time-share weekend madness at airport in St. Martin. I wouldn’t say we breezed through but it was very smooth on weekdays. Also, don’t let the COVID procedures scare you from traveling to Anguilla. Be sure to follow all the regulations needed to enter St. Martin as well as the regulations to enter Anguilla. Seems more complicated until you break it down. Thank you Shoal Bay for giving my family and I a great stay and we wish you all the best during this difficult time. See you soon.…
My Wife and I just spent 12 days at Shoal Bay. Given the stress of the last "Covid" Year it could not have been any better. While not a Luxury Hotel, It is a beautiful place to stay. The accomodations are great. There is a small kithchen to use if you want to keep your food bill moderate while on Anguilla. This is my Wife's and my third trip to Anguilla. The island is peaceful and has been extraordinarilly careful with Covid19. There were ony 2 cases reported while were on the Island. We met interesting people from around the World who were staying there which enhanced our stay even more.Katherine the owner and Rachael her daughter went way beyond the "call of duty" in facilitating our Entry into Anguilla(as the country requires a Covid entry permit) and they assisted us with anything we needed during our stay. We will be going back. Thank you Shoal Bay Villas for our time with you. David and Lucia…
My wife and I just returned from a 12 day stay at Shoal Bay Villas and as with all our previous stays here, everything was perfect. The difference this time was that with the corona virus outbreak leading to flight cancellations, all the guests were left scrambling to make travel arrangements. To that end, Kathy, Rachael and their entire staff went above and beyond the call of duty to assist in any way possible. They provided extended accommodations for all that required them and successfully arranged return trips down to the smallest details for everyone in a very calming and reassuring way.
My husband and I stayed for five days at SBV and we honestly felt every moment like we were in paradise. After a long journey from LA, we were exhausted physically and mentally. The moment we stepped into the beautiful, spacious, clean suite and took a dip in the gorgeous water we were completely renewed! It’s the perfect location on the most stunning beach we’ve ever seen. The service and people who run the villas are excellent in every way. We were late getting there and they still waited for us. My husband had a negative view of the Caribbean islands from previous experiences, and he was completely transformed by staying here. We look forward to coming back! Anguilla is a very special and beautiful island and hopefully won’t get overrun by tourists.
