Drove with a 4-month-old baby to this WONDERFUL hotel. The impressions are very positive! 1. Upon arrival we were met by the Russian-speaking Husniya, who spoke in detail about the hotel itself, its services and in the future provided all kinds of assistance. 2.The area is constantly cleaned up and if something is lying around, it is the tourists themselves who have not carried the garbage to the urn or the waste bags. Separate attention is paid to cleaning the beach from shells, pebbles. Every day, the workers clean the beaches. 3. Numbers. We lived in a room that is located in a two-story building overlooking the ocean. In the room I would note the following drawbacks - the location of the outlets is not always thought out, the toilet room is connected to the street by a window and the smells of the toilet are not always aired out. And the last thing I didn't like very much personally is that the entrance to the room, from the ocean side, doesn't have a sand-free pad to rinse your feet and not sand the room. 4. Many thanks to Rose, who showed us, as travel agents, other rooms in this hotel. It was also possible to see the rooms and bar in a place that is reserved for relaxation exclusively for 18+. I'll try to post more photos to make it clearer. 5. It's not an insignificant moment for those travelling with small children. They put a cot in the room, but the mattress is not great, we asked for something for us and the guys did! Also, we brought garbage bags with us on purpose, since used diapers, diapers and panties are easier to collect in bags than in the bin that's in the room. 6. Food. The restaurant does not have a clear vengeance for tourists, so we occupied the available seats, but we were lucky and almost constantly located in the same place. The food is prepared with quality, only there were cases when the signs were confused))) For example, where "beef", the sign "mutton" was put. The variety of fruits has completely satisfied our taste preferences! 7. Entertainment. On the grounds almost every day he played volleyball, evening quizzes, or karaoke evenings. The DJ also played music that most holidaymakers liked. Yeah, I almost forgot about the hookah. Friend, I forgot your name, but thank you very much! 8. And a huge thank you to CEO Christopher! Thanks to him, this whole cohesive mechanism worked 100 percent! We'll definitely come back here again!

I rarely write reviews, but really felt the need to for the wonderful Oblu Xperience. What can we say about this beautiful place. Obviously choosing to go to The Maldives and take your fairly young children across the world is a big decision, as well as building up the idea in your mind of what a tropical paradise will be like.
In advance, sorry for the essay....but hope it's useful.
Every detail blew us away. I must admit to being a little fussy about hotels, wanting things to feel a bit luxurious, but accessible and fun for our two daughters (9 and 7). The convenience of all inclusive, but not being repetitive or limiting.
Arrival - Our travels went smoothly both ways and the Oblu team that collect you from Male airport were kind and efficient with hot and jet-lagged people! As you arrived at the island on the speedboat (about 15-20 mins ride that was very exciting) there was a collective gasp at the beauty, with a team to greet you with applause and Maldivian singing. You are taken to a cool area of the bar with a welcome drink to have the island layout explained to you, and in the meantime your luggage is taken to your room. After the brief talk you are given your key and whisked to your room in a golf buggy (it is very walkable, though). It was so easy and a slick operation.
Room - The room was one of our favourite parts of the holiday. We booked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom family beach villa, and we had room 748 which was the most perfect location at the end of a row and next to the spa. We were ground floor with window seats both inside and outside the room, two sunbeds in your own small garden that then leads to the beach just a few metres away. The beach is stunning, quiet and more sheltered than the main beach. It was like swimming in bath water and was shallow so really safe for the whole family. The snorkelling there was the best we got - see below. We'll never forget it.
The beds were very comfortable, views when you open the curtains in the morning are something I'm pining for! The kids' room is perfectly done and our girls loved their space there (though were mainly about a metre away from us the rest of the time :-).)
Snorkelling - If I could recommend one thing it would be to take the full-face snorkelling masks. We snorkelled everyday and lent our masks to others so they could experience the world just under the surface. Baby sharks, the odd stingray, stripy fish, fluorescent, Nimos, trumpet fish - it was my lifelong dream fulfilled! Stick to near rocks, and the bit of the beach behind the beach villas in the 700 and 800s is so so good and more calm.
Food and drink - the food at Element X is really good and varied. When all inclusive, of course you miss ordering the exact meal you like, but this was overcome for three main reasons - the quality and range of types of food - local, international, salads, breads, desserts. There was always something for whatever you fancied - a lighter salad with delicious local tuna, meat and vegetables, curry, and to the delight of our children, fresh sweet breakfasts that ranged from pancakes to French toast, plus a range of pastries, cereals, and cooked breakfasts. Secondly, the different areas to sit in within the restaurant made you feel like you were in a different place, not the Groundhog Day of the same area and vibe each time. Some areas were more outdoors but with fans, but you had sand between your toes. Indoor overlooking the beach, elevated areas with more of a tropical feel. We enjoyed picking a different table each time. Thirdly, the wonderful quick and friendly service - it makes such a difference. The drinks there are good - with your meal you can help yourself to soft drinks, water, beer, white, rose and red wine.
X360 bar - Great vibe, wonderful staff and a range of drinks under the Fushi Plan - wine, beer, spirits and a large range of gorgeous cocktails. There are indoor areas, a semi-outdoor one with sand underfoot which kept our kids occupied while we could have a chat, and the bar you go to for a drink while you're by the pool. Just outside the bar is a big chess board that we loved playing.
Only Blu restartuant - WOW. See below under main pros of the trip, but the food is of the highest standard, wines to match each course, delicious home-made bread, top notch service and....of course all the sea life around you. I can't describe it. From the overall blue glow, to the dozens if not hundreds of fish types you see. They even provide a guide to fish types which we all loved spotting. I won't say more as I just would urge anyone to go, despite it being an extra expense. It's just so worth it.
Copper pot van - we didn't eat here, even though the food looked great it was an extra expense that we didn't feel the need to do.
Pool - Large, lovely pool that we spent many hours in! Nice water temperature, no culture of having to claim a sun bed (even in UK half term holiday time), fresh towels, water aerobics that isn't pushed on anyone but is v popular, music sometimes but quiet at other times depending on the time of day. The pool is right by the beach so you can access in seconds and also have that stunning view from your sun bed.
Gym - This was one of my husband's favourite parts of the holiday, while he got some time to himself and jogged on a treadmill while looking over the Indian Ocean. Lots of great equipment, not busy and staff who shook his hand on the last day :-).
Nature - Maybe my favourite part - this place is so beautiful. The colour of the sea, the beautiful beaches, but also the wildlife, chameleons running about, geckos on the walls at night, comical-looking birds rushing around amongst all the greenery in the amazingly maintained grounds. At one point my husband commented that he felt like he was in Jurassic park. And of course, the sea life, including hermit crabs who were constantly shuffling past and fascinated us all. It made the holiday for me and differentiated from other locations I've been to in Europe and the US.
The team - What an amazing set of kind, hardworking, lovely people. Everything was always immaculate, not too much trouble and seamless. People there seem genuinely happy and it makes such a difference. Thank you xx
Spa - we used the spa and are very glad we did. An amazing facial and massage in another league and reasonably priced. The setting is stunning. Definitely try it.
Watersports - a dedicated group of people offering a range of paid and non-paid for activities. They're so amazing in the sea, a couple of the guys had mastered the jet pack and their displays of this were a real crowd pleaser (see pics).
Main pros - The mind-blowing nature and beautiful scenery, different seating areas in the restaurant to make it not feel repetitive, the lovely staff, chilled vibe, relaxation and the way it all just comes together to result in a paradise - but one suitable for anyone. The underwater restaurant is the unique experience of a lifetime and even though it comes at a cost, it was worth every cent.
Tiny cons - It would be really nice if there was an additional a la carte restaurant you could eat at once during your week's stay, as the two alternatives are paid for and it would just be a nice change. But, the main restaurant, as mentioned, is varied and lovely. I also wouldn't mind a couple of mini wines in the mini bar :-) (you get x2 Coke, Sprite and beers).
We would absolutely go back to this hotel given the chance, and we all have a serious case of the holiday blues. The overall vibe, quality, beauty and staff are outstanding. It's in my top three holidays of all time, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I really hope it's given our kids memories for life.

As first timers to the Maldives, we didn’t know what to expect. This was a great start to experiencing an amazing holiday destination, which above all else is family-friendly. The resort has so much to offer including a kids club and a teen lounge. It does not have a reef but it does have a lovely quiet lagoon to snorkel in which has an array of fish and black-tipped reef sharks to see. The onsite water sports centre also offers free paddle-boarding and kayaking daily. On the beach front there is a slide and water trampoline. Each hotel villa has a set of life vests which you will be advised to wear if you are not confident swimmers in the sea. The sea is tidal and although there are lifeguards on duty, there are lots of areas around the island you can swim but do not have a lifeguard on duty. In addition to life vests in the rooms, each room has air-con, a hairdryer, mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks (refilled each day), dressing gowns, flip-flops, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a welcome pack that includes anything you might have forgotten such as toothbrush, comb, toothpaste etc The one thing do not forget is suncream. The resort shop charges $75 for a bottle of suncream. Towels and bedlinen were changed everyday and each room was restocked with bottles of drinking water, tea, coffee and sugar. If you need milk ask the restaurant, they provide cartons to go in your fridge. Speaking of the restaurant the food is good and has something for everyone, even fussy eaters. If you have time, the underwater restaurant is an amazing treat and the Maldivian food was wonderful. The pool is 1.2m all over and there is no baby pool, but I believe the kids club does have a splash pool. There is an Astro for a game of football, a large chessboard, games are available to borrow if you forget UNO or cards. Everyday the resort has regular buggies to pick you up from your villa and drop you off to the restaurant or pool, which is great for getting across the island to different points.

We chose the wrong hotel. We were looking for a quiet, laid back resort; unfortunately this is not the place for that. The constant, loud music around the bar and pool area throughout the day and evening, was awful. Loud to the point of distortion. Not a single guest we spoke to enjoyed it and all tried to get away from it. The bar (the only one on the island) is not fit for purpose on a resort of this size. The use of plastic glasses (for wine, beer and soft drinks) is unhygienic; several drinks we were served still had lipstick on them! Top tip: grab your plastic-ware take it to your room and wash it, then keep hold of it for the duration. On the subject of the bar, why isn't there anywhere to get a drink at the far end of the island?
On the positive side, the staff were excellent, the rooms clean and the food varied, although heavily salted. For the price paid, we weren't expecting a buffet, refectory-style dining experience. Also, the cover-charged restaurants were way over priced for the service they delivered.
On arrival our luggage was left out in the rain, and then delivered too the room on an open truck, soaking wet.
Maybe we were swayed by the 5-star rating. Need to do more research next time. As the guest in the neighbouring villa said "a cruise ship on an island".

We stayed 6 nights in water villa 601 which was nearest the complex. Villa had large day bed outside to watch the sea, bed indoors comfy. Villa sleeps 3, personally I wouldn't stay in Villa with child as the railings around steps to sea have large gaps which child could fall through into deep sea (and maybe strong current). Bathroom had toiletries and a complimentary in case you forgot which had toothbrush/toothpaste etc which we used as our luggage went missing for 24 hours. Island well designed every view is picturesque. Several beaches, soft sand. Resort is in 2 halves joined by bridges, water between these is calm not tidal, ideal for snorkeling and swimming with black tip reef sharks. Can also snorkel from beaches. Sunsets seen from beach, so no matter what accommodation you have you can see it. Restaurant has 3 areas: including dedicated areas for Asian and Indian. Good choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our luggage was delayed i bought 200ml sun cream from shop USD 59 plus 10% plus 16%... We checked out 6am and had amazing sunrise photos. Staff friendly and always smiling. Would recommend.

It’s our first time to this particular island, having previously visited the Maldives , and was by far the biggest island we have visited. The process from arrival at the airport to room was stress free, the wonderful staff take care of everything for you. We had a beautiful beach villa, which is spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Food is great with a variety of dishes. The hardest part of meal time was what to select as there is so much. Beaches are as you would expect for the Maldives, soft white sand and crystal clear warm sea. Although the staff try as much as possible to remove small coral, it’s not always possible so would advise to bring reef shoes. There is no house reef, but trips are available. We had an evening meal in the underwater restaurant, charged at approx. $160 per person. Meal was good but the experience was priceless, especially when a couple of sharks showed up. All the staff are great, and very hopeful, especially the room attendant Aiham. Most people tend to stay around the pool area during the day, making the beaches feel empty. If your after a peaceful holiday, maybe this is not the island for you, as loud music is played in the pool/bar area, if like us this doesn’t bother you, then this is a great place to come visit. Our villa was far enough away from the pool/bar area that it never posed an issue, and I lost count the amount of the times I fell alseep on the beach listening to the hypnotic sound of the waves. All in all a great and worthwhile place to come.

The Only Blu restaurant was a pleasant surprise, And it represents the most original and interesting attraction of the village; It is below sea level and has windows overlooking an extraordinary variety of fish. It is possible to dine a few centimeters from the sharks. The environment which is accessed by an elevator that takes you below sea level is of a high standard. The LED light is soft and allows you to admire the marine environment. It is possible to choose from a notable variety of haute cuisine dishes (compliments to the Chef!) for all tastes and the planned wine pairing was also appreciated. The menu includes an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. The table service by Mery Luz, Rahab and Emily was perfect, our every need was met with courtesy and availability. The reception at the reception was also professional in presenting the place. The price is adequate for the level of the restaurant, it is certainly not cheap but dinner is an unforgettable experience and to be recommended for couples or friends.

This was our first visit to the Maldives and we were totally blown away, it is such a beautiful place. Ailafushi is only about a 15 min speedboat ride from Male, on arrival everyone is greeted by a round of applause, we thought it was a nice way to be welcomed to the island, then they waved you off as you were leaving. All staff from the speedboat, restaurant, hotel - everyone were friendly and nothing too much trouble for them. They made you feel welcome and not like you were an inconvenience. Luggage is delivered to your room and picked up again to safe you lugging it around. The main restaurant was excellent and a good choice of tasty food (even vegetarian options). The chef’s can’t have it easy but they managed 10/10 each time.
My only draw backs:
The wooden floor in the room was tired and lifting in places, not a big deal. But if I’m giving a review it’ll be an honest one.
The beach is lovely there are coral and such by the sore line this can’t be helped but please be careful.
There is loud music by the pool, some people will enjoy this but we chose to stay by the beach as we wanted a relaxing peaceful holiday which we got.
There is an under water restaurant, copper van food truck and a cafe all where you pay extra we chose to not visit them as we had paid all inclusive and thought it was pointless paying extra, this was our choice you aren’t forced to go.
Watersports and activities apart from the few included in the package are chargeable again we chose not to use these, again it was our choice and nobody pressures you.

This has to be one of the best results that I’ve ever visited in my life. It’s the first time that I’ve come to the Maldives and I have to say this resort had everything being vegetarian. I was really worried about the food but there was tons of options available. The international buffet has Indian Chinese Italian and many other cuisines available. The rooms were very very comfortable every room has a private beach for that area and it’s very peaceful here. You can also head down to the main pool area where the main beach is located there are many activities available but I feel that they are repeated a lot every day and maybe the team could be more inviting for families and couples to get involved on the activities. There is also a buggy service where they will take you to your room so you don’t have to walk too far to get back to your room or to a location on the island. I also took a trip to scuba diving which was absolutely fantastic the instructor was very very helpful and I got to really experience the sea and the Clearwater and marine life in the Maldives. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a peaceful looking for a place just to chill I would recommend a maximum of seven nights here. I found that towards the fifth night there’s not a lot to do on the island as you are at the same place every single day.

After visiting Maldives before this resort was the worst!!! Very tired, dirty, on first arrival the reception area had tables with coral looking centres that were cracked and dirty, I also used the toilets in reception which were awful, dirty and smelly. the beach was nice however the monstrosity of a slide takes up to much room on beach and looks old and rusty in places was truly awful. The rest of the beach was washing away and they had sand bags which just looked awful. The rooms were very tired and simple things like shower curtain was moldy! They also had really shocking red satin dressing gowns that were all pulled and awful and also no slippers which at such an expensive resort I would have expected. The food was always cold as it was buffet style even tho a lot of choice simply cold and flies all over salad bar! The cupboards in dining room were filthy also simply cleaning that’s all it would have taken. The evening entertainment was awful and avoided at all costs. During the day the bay was very busy with so many people staying there however just 2 staff on it was ridiculous waiting to be served. It was a very unpleasant stay and would avoid at all costs and recommend paying a bit extra for a different island

Tipping is appreciated as with any establishment. However “tipping” is absolutely not mandatory or expected. Most did not during the day around the pool and never in the buffet style Restaurant. I was there for a week and at the end I tipped those individuals who impacted my trip accordingly. When walking the small island it is impractical to carry cash everywhere. And that is understood, I am not saying do not tip the staff; just do it when you are leaving.
Yes you can, it is very interesting and usually a few small sharks to get close to. Take fins though as the water is flowing and can be tiring swimming against the flow. Never saw any turtles or rays but plenty of sharks.
There are more places to choose from in the Himmafushi Island area.
