I stayed there just days ago. They picked me up at the airport even though so late. The first room was a single and problem with wifi connection. They rushed to change me to a better room, though double/triple the size just to accommodate my needs.

The room was HUGE and had sufficient tv channels, AC, and quiet. They offered a great laundry service and had the clothes returned to my room all nice and folded that day.

There are 2 floors with perhaps 15 rooms/not sure. Some are single. most are double/triple and very large/clean. There weren't many travelers in Pohnpei in Dec, so they discounted the rooms. There are inside rooms (which I prefer because I love a dark room for sleep) and the outer with more of a view. All have fridge and hot water heater for coffee/tea.

I loved my few days there. But, it was the people that really made a difference. The island is walkable but they can advise on a driver if you want. The location is central, next to the local market and about 15min walk from a good supermarket. They have a restaurant which comes in handy, too.

Yes, would recommend the SeaBreeze to most travelers on a bit of a budget or not!

Our group took up most of the hotel. Our room was very clean, fresh towels every day, big fridge, no blow dryer, lots of little extras in bathroom. Razors, q-tips, shampoo, lotions etc. our room looked out over the parking lot and had some sea views. Nice balcony with table and chairs. Our room had several beds. Two queens and a single with table, dresser, and tv. Room cleaned everyday. My only complaint was if anyone in the whole hotel took a bath or flushed the potty we had ZERO water pressure. We had to wake up really early or take baths super late. But out of 6 rooms only two of us had that problem. We also only had a shower with no curtain. It was just one big room where everything ( potty & sink) gets wet. The other rooms had showers with tubs & curtains. I've see these before when we traveled to Africa. I'm sure they are common just not in the states. Nothing bad just diffrent. ;) would recommend food from Joy hotel not this restaurant.

I stayed at the Sea Breeze for a work trip recently and had an enjoyable experience. The main reason we stayed at Sea Breeze was for the in room wifi. Overall, the internet in Pohnpei is pretty good so the in room wifi was sufficient for work and personal use (facebook, instagram, etc). The wifi would go out every couple of hours but if you asked the front desk, they would reset the router for you.

I stayed in a non-ocean view room which was very large but had a terrible view (of the laundry room). If you're here for pleasure, definitely spring for ocean view. However, A/C worked great, and the room was very clean.

The staff is very nice and helpful. They're aren't outgoing like most Americans are used to when it comes to hospitality staff but if you ask them for help, they go out of their way to assist. For example, the front desk guy from Yap (sorry if you're reading, I can't remember your name!) arranged a tour to Nan Madol for me on a Sunday with 30 minutes notice....pretty awesome :)

The restaurant, Red Snapper, has an amazing teriyaki beef entree for dinner (maybe lunch? can't remember). I don't know why but that was the best teriyaki I've had in awhile.

My colleague rented a car and they have a newer model Hyundai/Kia available. Great for commuting but not for sight seeing since the roads can get rough outside of Kolonia.

I would definitely recommend staying here if you need in room wifi and a hotel located conveniently in town. If you're on a leisure trip and looking for more amenities, stay else where.

James, the Manager, communicated with me via email while I was still in NY to set up my stay at the hotel. In Pohnpei, I was able to add an extra night with no problem. Nice room with a/c and hot water, lovely breakfast and an almost brand new rented car!!! All the staff was great. Would highly recommend the hotel!!!

I had to write to say how nice this hotel is and how helpful all the staff are. Most of the ex-pats we met whilst travelling to the other islands were really disparaging about this place and I think their views are really very unfair. I can only take a place as I find it, and the room we had was large, clean and comfortable. OK it might not be in a location such as the Mangrove Bay but I think the staff more than make up for that. And lets face it $1 per person taxi fare within town isn't going to break the bank if you want to go to say the Rusty Anchor or Mangrove Bay. I think there is a real locals v ex-pat divide on this hotel and I just don't understand it. If you want clean and comfortable rooms look no further.

I have not stayed at the Sea breeze hotel, but I went to the restaurant for lunch. I had heard people, especially Pohnpeians recommending this restaurant to others.
It is probably not fair for me to judge this restaurant by the dish I ordered, but that is the only reference point I have at this moment. I chose a dish, which was called the “red snapper lunch choice” or a similar name. If I judge the food by this dish, which probably is neither 100% accurate nor fair, I would say that it is a place for people who like to have a lot of fish and a lot of carbohydrates.

The restaurant was fairly small and only one table was occupied at the time on a Saturday, but that one table was making so much noise that I had to move closer to the TV to avoid it. They were, of course, having fun and everybody was nice, but it was not a great atmosphere to have a lunch in. When the food came I basically lost my appetite just looking at it. A lot of deep fried fish and a lot of kind of unhealthy looking sashimi with two lumps of carbohydrate--white rice and potato salad with a lot of mayonnaise. I was a bit worried thinking I might get sick from this fish. Everything was basically tasteless.

The price was $7.50 for all of that and that may be why people come here often. For me the positive points were that the people were very nice and I also got a chance to watch a bit of TV after a month.

I do not plan on going there again for food.

It´s a nice place. Reasonably fine wifi and meals. Breakfast and lunch are not expensive. The rooms were cleand and service was daily and well done. Has hot water in the shower. Rooms are diverse. I spent there five days and all went really well. You can use your credit card.

Some rooms here are tiny and quiet closed in, others are spacious with balconies. When you book a room, try to book one on the upper level, on the front so you have a balcony and a view. The rooms are of a fair cleanliness but that is if your standards are used to alot of travel and various accommodations. Everything works for the most part, alot of the tv channels are fuzzy but there is a tv and there are shows in English. The air con works rather well and the shower pressure is decent though the temperature can be hard to control. They give you little cosmetic kits, shampoos and soaps. There is food in the room for purchase as well as a teapot to boil water (though i recommend bottled water) and a mini fridge.

The staff are generally friendly and help you with your bags and clean the rooms daily.

There are souvenirs for sale in the lobby, which is a decent place to get them because there are not many places that sell souvenirs in FSM. There is also a restaurant on the bottom floor of the hotel. It has a decent spread for its breakfast/lunch buffet. I would recommend breakfast because it is fresher. Coffee is not included. What is included is water, made to order omelettes, ham, bacon, pancakes, cereal, fruit, soup and a variety of different foods.

Location wise it is not very far from anything in town and is very close to the airport. About a five minute drive

I loved this hotel! Rooms are clean and the AC works - which is very important on this island. If you every island hope from Guam through the Marshal Island, stay a few days or a week in Pohnpei and enjoy the sights and this hotel.

Ghastly food in their clunky restaurant- horrid coffee; genial if bumpy service there.

Guest room with funky, basic appointments on second floor overlooked street and a bit of the harbor off in the distance. You need a car in Colonia. There’s a serious problem with dogs everywhere if you try to walk down the streets after bedtime, which here is often 9:00pm. They growl and often attack, some without warning. So the Seabreeze like elsewhere will call you a taxi (usually one dollar per person per stop if in town).
The Seabreeze can arrange for drivers to take you around town. We had Calvin and Eric and they were polite, funny and obliging. They took us snorkeling. It’s not easy to walk to markets in Colonia so taxis are a way off life. Power outages frequently. But Pohnpei people are hotel staff are warm and friendly if unprofessional.
