The campground was in immaculate condition. Staff were lovely, especially the young champs straight out of Uni. The atmosphere was light and happy, and they were very helpful, and had a great taste in music. My campsite was great and had plenty of room. The weather was fantastic and basically like the Gold Coast, thanks to the weather gods. This place is WAY better than Apolo Bay or Grampians, as I have been there before and come home disappointed.

Rude staff, ok facilities for the price but stuff we’re very rude and harassing Only reason you would stay here is for the proximity but avoid all contact with staff where possible Arrive late, leave early so they can never get a chance to come near you and harass you

No respect from campers at Tidal river campground, blasting loud music late at night, drinking and being obnoxious. This is suppose to be a national park, with respect for traditional owners and wildlife, this kind of behavior might be fine if it was private property, but rangers and parks Vic should be ashamed at the lack of management and control of behavior. Terrible noise pollution in what could be a beautiful campground.

I was under the misconception that the only accommodation at Wilson’s Promontory were the cabins and camping area provided by the National Park itself. This was not the case. The cabin that we stayed in was very basic. It was very much geared to a family living outside in the summer. It had a double bed and a room containing four bunk beds. The kitchen facility was well equipped. However the heater did not work, there was no hairdryer and light flooded in through glass in the apex of the gable end wall. It was only 10° when we were there and thus we were cold and found it difficult to sleep after daybreak. If I were to go to Wilson’s Prom again I would most definitely look to stay elsewhere.

Tidal River is a magical place on earth. The scenery, the animals, the landscape and hikes to do. Me and my friend had a very exciting time down there. Campspot without electricity was only $32,5 AUD / night and we could walk within 3-4 minutes to the beach. I will definitely want to return. Seemed like a family-friendly place to be at.

Very disappointed, all they hype was not worth my 3 hour drive. If you are considering visiting, change your plans and go somewhere else worth your time. Not a very good camping site. Could be improved , روح نام احسن لك

Tidal River General Store and Visitors centre - Lack of hospitality or customer service. We and 4 other families camp every December. Granted Parks Victoria cant control the weather, but they can control the customer experience. Why was the cafe closed on a day with wild wind and heavy rain, and campers had nowhere dry to sit for a short time to eat lunch or have a hot drink?. Two of us were given different reasons. One reason was shoet staffing due to covid. The cafe doesnt sell food. Its a space to eat in...not requiring a pount of sale or waiting staff. Why were empty huts not able to be rented out to us (for 1 night) after our campsite became flooded ? Theres no capacity in the system for lateral thinking and problem solving or responding to needs of customers based on changing weather conditions. The staff were either unpleasant (point of sale at the Takeaway), or evasive, unknowledgeable or disintetested at the Visitors Centre. I would like to see a more responsive and flexible booking system, and another cafe/store/food provider. The current monopoly is really not providing good enough customer service. Recommend staying at nearby townships and doing daytrips instead. Poor service at Tidal River.

If you like to stay in a filthy little cabin this is the accommodation for you. When you take the time out of your life to send photo to management, there no care in the world for your unpleasant stay. Every inch of the cabin was filthy, even what looked like blood spatter on the floor.

The Tidal River camground is looking very sad and unloved. Looked forward to a week camping but lasted 2 nights. All campsites are black sand pits - no grassed areas any longer due to high volumn of campers. We battled with black sand covering our tents & belongings with the slightest breeze. With 480 camp sites at Tidal River -all being used - makes for a very unpleasant stay. Parks staff too appeared very lack luster and confirmed that they are 'always busy' at Tidal River. General store staff grumpy and unhelpful. Very sad to see Park Vic don't rest camp areas to help preserve the pleasures of camping in such a lovely place. Over night camp sites too appear to be poorly maintained. I have returned from South Australia after extensive camping (Deep Creek, Coorong, Yorke Penninsular, Port Lincoln, Kangaroo Island) where facilities are excellent indeed and parks well maintained. The Prom is a very special place shame Parks Vic can't care for the camping areas a little better.

If you expect five star accommodation at the Tidal River Campground, you will be sadly deluded. Families for whom camping is a matter of choice are unlikely to be surprised. Wilson's Prom is always in demand, treat camping among the trees, surrounded by wildlife, as part of the experience. There are no luxury hotels in Wilson's Prom. It's a bit like Yosemite National Park, without the bears.
