Coconut Lodge is a great place to come and relax - surrounded by greenery and peace, with a lovely hospitable host! Conrad cooks an excellent breakfast and is knowledgeable about Panama if you need advice. He's also happy to let you do your own thing if that's what you'd prefer. A great place to relax.

We just returned from our 3 night stay at Coconut Lodge. From the moment we began planning our 7 day trip to Panama, I had no doubt that Coconut Lodge would be great. Conrad was amazing with all his communication. If he couldn't respond right away he'd email me to let me know he would get back to me ASAP. With small children in tow it was important for us to have some sort of a game plan of things to do that would keep them interested. Conrad helped set up a tour of the Old Town, Panama Canal, and Gamboa Rainforest resort (Monkey Island, canopy arial tour, and Sloth Sanctuary). He even secured a car seat for us so we didn't need to worry about bringing our own. We rented the casita and had the entire place and pool to ourselves for 3 glorious days. Breakfasts were delicious and well thought out. We opted for to pay for dinner each night to make things easier with the kiddos. We are so glad we did. Conrad was able to make us delicious meals and was super easy to work with as far as our dietary restrictions (3 vegetarians). Everyone was extremely happy with the food choices. Conrad was great with our kiddos too. The casita had two queen sized bed and a fold out cot for our oldest. The bathroom had a nice double sink. The closet was plenty big enough for all our luggage. The pool was deep (maybe 5 feet??? in the shallow end and 9 ft.??? in the deep end). We planned ahead and brought puddle jumpers for our two youngest kiddos. Overall, the casita and Conrad's level of service made this part of our trip really special. I would not hesitate to stay at Coconut Lodge again if we return to this area of Panama.…

We visited Coconut Lodge in February 2019 and really enjoyed the nice pool and quiet surroundings. But it’s nothing compared to the host Conrad, who will do everything to make your stay perfect. If we ever come to Panama again, we will definitely stay at Coconut Lodge and at least for a whole week. Keep up the great job!

Staying at Coconut Lodge in Panama was like renting a private European villa in the tropics, complete with a chef, since we had the colorful, slightly worn bed-and-breakfast in the Las Cumbres area entirely to ourselves for a week. Our simple, spacious suite included a comfortable queen bed, A/C, cable TV, mini-fridge, safe, Wi-Fi and walk-in shower with a refreshing rainforest head. We arose daily at dawn to birdsong and the crowing of distant roosters. A 15-minute uphill walk afforded sweeping views of the countryside, which remains remarkably green and unspoiled, despite its proximity to bustling Panama City. Our personable Polish host, Conrad, prepared breakfasts and served us on the covered veranda overlooking the rectangular pool, stone patio and gardens. These began with coffee, orange or pineapple juice, a small yogurt-cereal parfait and fresh fruit: sliced apples, bananas, pears, oranges. His creation of the day alternated among crepes with preserves; “Polish-style” scrambled eggs; nest eggs with bacon; and an impressive smorgasbord of quartered eggs, wieners and open-faced sandwiches of ham, cheese, tomato, onion and cucumber. All were delicious, filling and artfully presented. Thus fortified – and armed with SPF 30 lotion – we retired to lounge chairs poolside, where occasional breezes and fair-weather clouds afforded fleeting respite from the searing sunshine. After sampling some disappointingly bland empanadas and papas rellenos (stuffed potatoes) from Casa del Pan bakery and Come Come food truck, we wisely opted to have Conrad make our evening meals, as well. His commitment to fresh, healthy ingredients showed in the generous tossed salads; pasta with grilled chicken and cream sauce; shrimp and tilapia with rice pilaf; mixed seafood pasta; and a “typical Polish” dinner of herbed drumsticks and potatoes with a side of garlicky cucumber-yogurt slaw. This review should have been written last year. But we got so busy after getting home with house renovations, but it’s never too late. The time we traveled says November 2017 but it was actually Augus 2017. Our holiday in Panama last year started out at Coconut Lodge. Conrad, the owner met us at the airport and had a nice home cooked meal prepared for us. We had booked all inclusive because of the Jetlag our sons and we would have. And we enjoyed every home cooked meal Conrad cooked for us. He regularly inquired with us what we would like to eat and needed for snacks. Since we were the only guests at that time we were catered to all our needs. The kids could use the pool at any time (even at 6:00am). Conrad really made us feel welcome and at home. He drove us to the supermarket and helped me get a sim-card for my phone. He helped us out in every way he could so our stay was most comfortable and pleasurable. We stayed at Coconut lodge for 5 nights at the beginning of our holiday. Conrad met us at the airport and gave a wonderful introduction to Panama and the area. He kindly offered to arrange some tours, of which he took us on one tour to the Rainforest himself. We really enjoyed his hospitality and excellent balance between offering activities and suggestions to what we could do, but also to let us explore on our own when we were ready for that. We could not have had a better host, and came back to the lodge for our last two nights in Panama. Thank you for a superb holiday and a really lovely place!

We stayed at coconut lodge twice. For 2-3 nights at the start and end of our holiday in panama. This place is lovely, close enough to explore Panama City, the canal, San Lorenzo & portobello. But at the same time, provides a beautiful place to relax and chill out, away from all the madness & traffic. Conrad was our host and he made us very welcome, cooking for us a couple of times, also driving us to the nearest takeaway restaurant (no restaurants nearby) he made us feel very welcome. The apartment we had was very spacious, clean, very comfy bed and amazingly good shower. And the pool was perfect to cool off from the midday heat. Would definitely stay here again whilst visiting panama. Conrad also recommended a driver for us, Mario, who was amazing. Good tour guide as he's a local, very knowledgable, and very good English. Very reasonably priced for excursions. …

What can I say? A Polish host, Hungarian and Irish quests and the hotel to ourselves. Does vodka, palinka and whiskey make a good cocktail? Better than you could image. We had a great time, even Polish cooking in the middle of the jungle felt just right, in beautiful surroundings, a great location for the city and the canal and the bar, well, let's say it was very useful.

We booked the casa bambú for a family of 4 and had a great stay. The room is just as pictured, very spacious and lots of privacy. We saw toucans and other birds on the beautiful grounds and the pool was a huge hit! The breakfast was also varied and delicious and Conrad was a gracious, easygoing and friendly host. Location was perfect for us. We live in downtown Brooklyn and we're looking for a relaxing retreat with easy access to the city. With a car, this was exactly what we were looking for. One minor nit--one of the beds is creaky and a bit saggy and while it was comfortable for my two lightweight children, it likely would not be ideal for adults. Thanks to Conrad for a great stay!
