went here thru the beach because we wanted to eat at their restaurant.. we asked for the menu and thought food were expensive.. since we came from the beach (no property lines, signs whatsoever).. we asked if we can wash sand off our feet so the ate pointed it to us.. suddenly another ate approached us telling us that its a private property and we should pay 100 each.. we were shocked coz we just went their thru the beach stretch to possibly eat.. but this girl who happens to be their cashier argued with us to pay in a very condescending tone.. we did pay but was very disappointed.. they should put sign that the restaurant is only for their guests.. very toxic person.. horrible experience.. we we’re robbed just for washing our feet and asking for the menu.. train your staff to be friendly and humble..AND IF YOU ARE A PRIVATE PROPERTY WHO DO NOT WANT CUSTOMERS FROM THE BEACH, PUT SIGNS!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Even though we received assistance from the hotel, we still wish to express our concern and hope for future improvement. We know that Covid-19 has taken its toll on tourism in Philippines, and many resorts have gone bankrupt, but it does not mean you provide poor service, and it does not mean that you charge full peak rate for rooms that are in poor quality. We were at least expecting a discount rate if the room is in bad shape but we were charged peak rate. Our room was in really poor shape and was in dire need of repair, including the bed which felt like it was about to fall apart. After filing a complaint with staff (who were excellent and provided good service), we were offered a different room which was newly renovated but the toilet was broken (which I personally managed to rig to work). The AC unit was new yet very loud, compare to our AC unit at home which is very quiet. The restaurant has a decent menu but is extremely expensive and for the amount of food it is overpriced. Also, my wife stated that the fries were old as in heated again, and the fish was also friend incorrectly and the presentation was extremely poor. For breakfast there is only one choice, fish and rice. We overheard some other guests who also were unhappy that the breakfast had no variety. We in addition to this overheard a few American guests complaining that the coffee was cold. Breakfast was included so we did not have to pay for it, but if you want guests to return, then you also have to impress. Beach access is amazing, blue lagoon is beautiful. The resort is quite big and is well maintained on the outside, and we can only wish that service and quality improves, but for now we will not be returning until we have been provided an update that improvements have been made. You want to enjoy the resort but when the service and quality is disappointing, you really just want to leave. This is our second resort in Ilocos Norte, and both have received a poor rating.

They rely on the best part of the saud cove, which is true. There is no better spot on the beach then here. But its a mistake to rely on that, they should definitely improve their services; breakfast is horrible, rooms and beds are terrible, their rooms are three times the price of the places around. Stay away here and just choose your spot on the beach

This is the best place that you can stay in Pagudpod. This is not our first time in this property and definitely we will keep on coming back. We travelled as a family; my wife, my two kids (3 years old and 4 month old baby) and I. During our second visit, we booked (walk in) into one of their Villa Rooms facing the beach. We got it for Php5700 a night with breakfast for two. The room was okay for us specially for our kids. There was a hot jug of water, coffee and utensils ready for us upon arrival. We had no complaints with any of the inclusions. The room was comfortable, aircon working fine with a great fragrance upon entering. The view was amazing and the path to the beach easily accessible. The Saud Beach is one of the best beaches for us in the Philippines and maybe in the world; this is more than Boracay for us. We travelled all the way from Bulacan by car and parking is barely a problem for this property. We even parked our car near our room which is necessary as having kids requires more stuff to carry. The resort staff are very hospitable and helpful from the front desk staff to housekeeping and the restaurant; they all deserve to receive a 5 star and positive comments on TripAdvisor. The chef was friendly enough to ask how every meal was. The food at the restaurant were served fresh and very delicious. The breakfast was good and the coffee deserves a compliment too - not forgetting the beautiful raw view of the shoreline to the beach as you dine. Paying 5700 pesos a night is worth it and getting a place to stay as nice as this one at its rate, is rare now a days. We will not get tired of visiting Pagudpod, Ilocos Norte and we are considering moving there in the next couple of years. The people around the area are very respectful and hospitable. We have enjoyed staying in Saud Beach Resort and we will keep on coming back. Regards, Montales Family from Villa 13 01/05/2023

Very understaffed. I saw the owner telling off one of her staff who is actually really nice and polite. Staff doesn’t look happy at all - they appeared overworked. All 3 rooms that we’ve got smelt like molds. Shower hasn’t been cleaned properly. Old empty shampoo sachets still in the bathroom. Mirrors in the bathroom hasn’t been wiped. Toilet seat have dry urine drip on it. Tables were not wiped. One of the room’s bathrooms have black footprints on it so we asked the staff to clean it - that was the only thing we asked them to do because we felt sorry for them. Poorly, poorly managed. It looks amazing from the outside but very bad inside. Money is not worth it

So basically this is a on the spot reservation we made last 13 April 2022. Since on the spot reservation, the price we paid is 7,930pesos. Pretty hefty for a provincial rate considering I've stayed in Fairmont Makati for a lot less. The room is good for 4 people but since we are with 2 kids (1 - 5 yrd old and 1 - 10 years old), the staff made us pay for extra bed for 1,400pesos eventhough we insisted that we dont need one. There is really nothing to brag for the rooms here. Just meant to stay and take a shower. All furnitures are old and barely functioning. The TV only has an RF signal. Fridge is small and blistering already. Toilet is basic. Not really maintained. Faucet will soon fall but I doubt they'll replace it anytime soon. Room amenities like tge soap and, oh yeah, that just about. You get a soap. No shampoo, no toothbrush or anything for a first class hotel rate you will pay. The rate comes with free breakfast. The breakfast is ala carte. Comes with a cup of rice, side of atsara, choice of corned beef or 2 pieces longganisa and an egg. We asked for a coffee, but guess what, the coffee they provided in the room is actually meant for the in-restaurant breakfast meal. So we went back to the room to get it when we had our breakfast. Coffee is an instant 3-in-1 coffee sachet by the way. So overall, will I recommend staying here, no! Will I return here, no! Not a value for money. It has potential but management needs to step up. Saud beach have a limited competition when it comes to accomodation and the owner is just simply missing this opportunity. Sad.

This was my second time in the place. The price had increased but the rooms were not maintained properly. They smell moldy. We occupied 2 rooms. The room we occupied had noisy air conditioner, not-flushing well toilet bowl, and very old thin towels. Third person has a additional fee with or without extra bed but it was okey because he is counted in the breakfast. Our consolation was the beach! We scrubbed our body with the creamy sand and it didn’t itch. They are perfect for spa!

I personally think it was an inside job. On check in, they moved us into a unit with compromised security; the windows did not have glass covers. Unit 9 deluxe. We lost a lot of valuables. It was terrible. Happened at 4am. They must have sprayed something that not one of us was awakened. I would NOT recommend this resort to anybody...

I really tried to like it here. The location just makes it better. I understand how this place is old and that tourists don't go here to Pagudpud too much. But I expected better service and rooms. Please take this constructive criticism, because the location is really stunning, the hospitality, quality of rooms and service were just not. I'm happy service was accommodating though when we asked for them to clean our dusty bathroom/room and to bring hot water for coffee. We actually asked to upgrade our rooms to the ones upstairs because the ones downstairs were really, really poor. Lights were flickering, the aircon was noisy, and the place was dusty. The ones upstairs were far better. We luckily managed to get a discounted price for the upgrade because they were persistent to charge us 3000 for two more nights. Seriously? There are also a lot of dogs roaming around. There was this puppy that was whining to get out of a trapped area, but since I couldn't touch it to get it out, I was obliged to leave it there. I even told the reception person about it, because the dogs were going around our table while eating too, but did nothing about it. The waiter at the restaurant seemed like they were even complaining that we asked for so much. They got our order wrong, forgot to bring us glasses for water but left a pitcher, and had the audacity to look annoyed and tired. Not to mention, we were the only guests of the resort at that time. The cashier even calculated wrong. We almost paid 150 for extra bread instead of 50. Please always be honest with your customers. :( I really you improve your facilities. I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. Please strive to do better. But since I want to be honest, I had a disappointing time here. It ruined my mood, but my family was optimistic, so I will brush it off with a review. I hope you understand our concerns. Really.

For the period of 10 years, this is our 5th visit on this hotel, during our previous stay we reviewed this hotel as the best in this part of Nothern Phillippines, BUT during our stay last May 29-June 1, 2019. We are sadden, on our arrival we are obliged to pay the full amount for the 3 days stay before were are allowed to check-in as we only deposited 50% as a reservation fee on the bank. When we get into our rooms (B &H) the bed sheet looks dirty with stains the shower heads are clogged. As we were tired for the long trip and hungry we took our dinner on the their restaurant and the food is good for hungry people. We did not sleep well, the pillows were uncompfortable, lots of mosquitos. The restaurant open for Breakfast at 7am and to our surprise we can not choose our breakfast from the menu as the options will only be given on the 2nd day (accordingly), we requested to take the options on the menu and we will pay as we can not eat what was given to us as inclusions on the room package but we were denied. So we ride our vehicle to look for restaurant outside the resort and take our breakfast and the rest of the meals during our stay. We just enjoyed the beach, never mind the hotel, NEVER AGAIN, We will not recommend this hotel, there are new hotels in the area.
