I was dropped at this Hotel to pass the night after attending a conference at Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto.I was lodged at a room upstairs with average amenities in the room and i didn't complain as i have only one night to stay there as i was on a budget trip after coming from Birnin Kebbi from anther conference. From the hotel one can go round the area to buy local fish caught from the Sokoto River and local tea can be bought as night as meal for dinner. From the hotel once can take transport to the local transport company to travel to his /her destination across northern Nigeria.

This hotel is a fleabag, we stayed three nights and had a 2 day workshop here which was very stressful. On arrival in the first room they took me to, there was litter on the floor, a damp smell and the cleaner was taking a nap on the bed! The bath and toilet were badly stained and the first flight of stairs had a very bad decaying smell of damp. We eventually upgraded to an executive room for me and deluxe rooms for my colleagues on a slightly cleaner and less damp corridor. We had to pay quite a bit for the upgrades, even though we were hosting a workshop there and accommodating 15 guests for two days with all meals, Even after the upgrade, I had to ask them to change the stained sheets in my colleague's room and to change the stained towels in mine. Eventually I used my shawl as a towel! They put my case on a dirty table and it has been stained red! I had to request them to come and vacuum as the floors were dirty. There was spider in my bathroom on the last night and the bathroom was littered with roaches the next morning after they had sprayed insecticide. I have pictures to prove this! During the day there was often no water and they kept promising to switch the pressure pump on. When there was water, the flow from the hot tap was consistently brown. Bed is rock hard. On the plus side, the aircon worked well and the staff were accomodating and pleasant, despite appearing overworked. The wifi was patchy and non-existent at times. Terrible for our work purposes. Luckily, I had carried my mifi router and my colleague bought data that we could all share. Would recommend you stay away from this dump, as the Dankani and Shukura are much better options.
