I was with my partner this August, we went on a scheduled trip and we were about 40 people in an organized group.
Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms.
Serious but Pro staff.
The problem comes in the restaurant, my partner is intolerant of many foods and the person responsible for the dining room seems to not understand it, he said that he had to be informed by our Guide, we told him that if his word was not enough.
It can be seen that the agency on this type of Trips has as a closed menu (we did not know) but this lady had 0 empathy with the personal problems of each and agreed to change us part of that menu for what she considered appropriate, we did not ask for anything exceptional, a French omelet for example, because no , the lady did not agree, we ended up going to dinner outside.
I won't go back or advise anyone with bigotry.
Breakfasts industrial pastas, fruits and lunchbox.
Hotel away from the center.

First impression after arrival: From the outside a large and somewhat forbidding hotel as if from the old communist eastern block era in need of some love and care. But, receptionist very friendly and helpful indeed. Standard rooms fully booked but given free upgrade to suite. Excellent! Large room but furnishings dated and old fashioned. Bed very good though. Roughly 2x2 meters! Updated bathroom.

Corridors very noisy. A group of youngsters was staying and they caused a racket! Room doors with old fashioned locks and doors could only be closed with a loud bang!

Restaurant large but not cosy or intimate. Food (all inclusive menu of the day) ok in parts but not good in others. Staff efficient and helpful. Free parking. Handy for shopping with both a Mercadona and Lidl opposite. And, in case you need it. The local hospital is next door!

We had an unplanned stay here after our car broke down on the way home. The bedroom furniture was modern and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The bathroom and the building itself are a bit dated but comfortable.
There was some English speaking staff and they were very helpful with checking in and finding the bus times for us. Fernando even took us to the bus station in his own car because it was pouring at the time. This is the kind of service that is above and beyond expectations and we were very grateful for that.

Good afternoon. Very good attention from the workers, especially Rocío. Very professional in her work, polite and very pleasant.
I will definitely return when I pass through Reinosa since I want to try their menu since it is always full of people.

The potatoes are crazy, Rocío… unmatched, spectacular treatment. I went with friends we had a great dinner. We will definitely repeat, the area is wonderful, good parking…. Well, what can we say about the capital of snow? Newly renovated place, and the dishes are well presented.

We wanted somewhere not too far away from Santander after leaving the boat at 6 pm. We arrived at the hotel at 7 pm straight off the motorway. Very easy to find, free parking pleasant receptionist and a very nice room with a terrace and a view of the mountains.
We had dinner in their restaurant. Very lively as a Saturday night and obviously popular with the locals. It was quite amazing value for good basic Spanish food. 3 courses with coffee plus a bottle of good house wine and coffee too. All for 19 euros!!’ Huge portions by the way! Breakfast had a good selection with freshly squeezed orange juice for 5 euros. Would we stay again? Most definitely yes! If you are looking for the Ritz then this is not for you but if you want a good comfortable bed for the night, a very easy hotel to find, lots of parking and good basic Spanish food for an extremely competitive price then it is!

After a delay on the Santander crossing we had to change our plans and were
lucky to book this comfortable hotel at the last minute. The room was large, centrally heated and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The three course meal deal was not only good value but extremely tasty. The local bean cassoulet as a starter was a meal in itself. Highly recommended and good value.

I went there with my wife. We were driving back from the Algarve and had to catch the ferry from Santander the following morning. On this occasion we hadn’t booked overnight accommodation and drove into Reinosa looking for a bed for the night.

Reinosa is a small town just in the mountains and close enough to Santander for a leisurely breakfast and short drive to catch the 11:00 am ferry.

The Hotel is located at the entrance of the town of Reinosa and it was getting dark. At first glance Hotel Vejo didn’t impress from the outside but it was getting dark and we didn’t fancy sleeping in the car.

The reception staff didn’t seem too interested in taking our booking but eventually we were able to book in and were allocated a room in the 6th floor. No help offered with the luggage but there was a lift.

The room was big but smelled of smoke, the door had been damaged and the furniture was tired to say the least. The lighting was dim; the bed sheets were clean but didn’t appear to have been pressed very well. Not impressed.

Large windows provided access to a veranda with a panoramic view of the mountains and the town. This may be why we were put up on the 6th floor because there were few other guests. From the veranda we could see down into the “swimming” pool. Surely no one would swim in that, the water looked filthy and you could not see the bottom.

We had our evening meal at the hotel and our waitress was extremely helpful, she took the trouble to translate the menu and served a good meal at a very reasonable price.

After a good night’s sleep we went down for breakfast. Whilst there was a menu our waitress offered to cook whatever we wanted and subsequently produced an excellent fresh breakfast.

Hotel Vejo is ideal as a ferry stop over if you don’t’ want to stay in Santander and the price is very affordable. However it is tired, the car park is potholed and the interior desperately needed renovation. The swimming pool should be filled in as a potential health hazard. The reception staff didn’t seem to understand the concept of customer service. In fairness the restaurant was clean, the food good and the serving team were brilliant.

We checked in, expecting it to be basic but clean. We got very basic and very dirty. Bed linen full of stains, decorative cushions placed on the pillows were very dirty.
On complaint to reception - complete with photographs - she gave us a key to an upgrade room which was a slight improvement, but the hairs in the beds didn't bode well.
We returned to reception and eventually the manager arrived. He was very apologetic when we explained and presented photographic evidence, he gave a full refund.
We were fortunate that it was only 5pm and we went and booked in a few miles up the road.

The room was large, the beds comfortable and it was very warm. The ensuite bathroom worked very well. We were en-route to Palencia, after disembarking at Santander, but were caught in a snow blizzard. The Guardia Seville closed the roads and we had to quickly find accommodation, this hotel with its English speaking receptionist, quickly found accommodation for us and many others caught in the storm.
