Isla Cabana was a great place to stay for vacation. Good location- walkable to other restaurants and resorts and they have a nice beach front and pool area.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, everything worked well. We arrived mid morning so our room wasn't ready, which was totally ok. There is barely any cellphone network signal in the area, but they wouldn't give us WiFi access until the room was ready. So that was a bit annoying.WiFi was also slow.
What we did not like about the resort was that there were cats walking around, which made it seem dirty and unkept. We also wish that there was a covered lounge area near the beach, especially when it was rainy and windy, it would have been nice to relax there. The only lounge area was the "game area" near the lobby. However, the cats were very comfortable lounging on the couches and throw pillows there- which totally turned us off from staying in that area.
Food at breakfast was good, but it was warm at best, and refills were very slow. We tried the calamansi cheesecake one afternoon and it was very good!
Overall, would go back and recommend because the place is beautiful and very relaxing. But please, do something about the WiFi, cats, and lounge area!!

We stayed for two nights in a Superior Villa which could accommodate 4 guests (1 single bed, 1 double bed and two single mattresses on the floor). It's the villa without a private pool but because it was low season, it didn't matter - we practically had the pools all to ourselves. Inside the room, we could hear some noise from the outside but it was not unbearable. The entire place was well-maintained with bamboo and beautiful pandan trees on stilt roots lining the paths and shielding the villas from prying eyes.

The beachfront is a winner, with a very shallow beach and good quality sand. We loved the infinity pool as well. So for this, location is great! Cloud 9 is reachable by trike. Restos and shops along Tourism Road have a chill vibe, similar to Bali.

The breakfast and food were above average, especially the Truffle Mushroom & Parma Ham pasta which we ordered at least once a day (not kidding) and the Nasi Goreng which was so generous there was shrimp and squid and was served with satay. The Chocolate Fudge cake for dessert was also a family favorite. Service takes some time because their kitchen is in another location so do expect a bit of a wait. However, the staff were friendly and eager to help.

Others
The booking process was a bit strange because we had to pay via bank transfer and the price on the website did not include tax and service charge.
There are a few spots with no or slow wi-fi.
Shared van airport transfer is offered for P300 per head, this seems to be a standard rate and arranging through the hotel was convenient. Cash payment is made directly to the driver.

Had a great stay at Isla Cabana last week! The resort is situated right on the main road, which is convenient, but most of the cabanas are tucked in far enough to not hear the traffic.

Upon check in, we were greeted by the reception staff and Oreo as well - the house Pomeranian 🐶. Our room wasn’t ready yet, as we arrived early, so we had drinks and lunch at the restaurant by the pool. There we met Shella, Jaime, and Gemma. They were all very warm and friendly throughout our entire stay. The food was great - offering a good mix of both Filipino & western food. All the food we had was appetizing, including the free breakfast. Drinks are also very tasty - I usually had a refreshing watermelon shake. A good variety of cocktails and different flavors of soju were also available.

After lunch, we were escorted to our room (Isla Dako 1). A large king size bed with a vaulted ceiling was in the center. The back part of the room offered ample storage for our luggage and clothes, a safe, and a bathtub/shower/toilet. There was also a small outdoor shower area which we used after returning from the beach to wash the sand off. One criticism I will have of the room is that I didn’t like the lizards on the ceiling. They would make noises and wake us up in the middle of the night often.

The rest of our 4 night stay, we spent many lazy days by the infinity pool situated adjacent to the beach hanging out with some of the dogs that wander onto the property. During high tide, the water would come all the up to the property. During the low tide, the water recedes very far off the property, exposing a fine white sandy beach.

Overall, I would recommend this resort and would consider staying here again if I were to return to Siargao! The warm and welcoming staff members at the restaurant really made our stay more memorable.

When we arrived, our room was not yet ready and we waited for 2 hrs. The room is absolutely perfect and spacious with a good view of the sea. Though you can't really swim, its good that they have swimming pool to relax. Breakfast is good, they have varieties of choices. You just need to go early as sometimes they don't refill anymore 1 hr before the breakfast end. Restaurant food is excellent, try caldereta kambing (goat stew).
If you want to explore the island, they have a new policy that all the resorts must refer all the guests to the tourism office (you can walk or take a tricycle P20.00 each). They cannot arrange your island hopping in the resort. The resort is very accessible to anywhere you want to go, you can also rent a motorbike at the reception. The staff is good and very approachable, always smiling and very helpful if you need anything.

For me, a well-recommended resort!

We checked in and when we got to the room that's beautifully arranged(for our honeymoon) we saw a bucket of charcoal and the bathroom smelled like musty, wet old socks, it was completely nasty! Just about 5 mins in the room, me and my husband got a headache.

I politely talked to the front desk about the smell and how they put charcoal in the room to soak up the smell and they completely ignored and made it seem like "not our problem". They said that they did not know about it and none of the housekeepers knew about it, I guess it just magically appeared there. I politely asked if they have a supervisor, or manager on duty, they said they don't so they basically call the shots.

They offered us to room hop every night to solve the problem, who would want to pack every night and transfer rooms? We are on a vacation and the thought of putting us in that mildew room on top of room hopping was just completely unacceptable!

They were also unapologetic about it and told us "Oh we are just going to give you a free upgrade just for tonight and then you have to transfer to your original room tomorrow" and I took pictures of their "free upgrade" they put us in Isla Dako 3 and I have attached the pictures. But, really? You want us to transfer back in the same moldy room? We have asked some of the front desk ladies to come with us so they could smell the room themselves, but they told us they have a cold, of course they do! It's the perfect timing to have a cold.

The next morning, no greetings, no good morning etc. The first thing that came out of their mouth was "Did you pack?" In the end, we took the double beds, over the King bed that we originally booked because it was the cleanest option that we had.

The front desk team were so rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. When you go to them, they look at you and they laugh. They make fun of people too obvious. On our last night, room service woke us up at 9:40 pm when we had to wake up at 4am to catch a flight home. Weird thing is we never ordered any room service but the guy insisted it was for our room. When my husband questioned the guy about it, he pretended he had no idea and left. We saw the same guy in the morning when leaving for our flight and my husband again questioned him of why he kept knocking on our door and he completely denied the whole situation so that reassured us it was the front desk ladies who probably thought it would be funny to mess with us since they took the whole incident personally and didn't like the fact that my husband told them that they have no customer service skills.

To the owner/proprietor, Mildred Escatron Pabillore, I suggest, Instead of asking your workers to walk your two dogs and pick up their poop, train your staff, specially your front desk team to be accommodating, professional, and kind. You also need managers on duty or interim managers that could also help with the situation or any situations that may arise, just a professional business advice.

We went to Boracay and Coron, everything was smooth and customer service was at a 100000000%. This was our last destination for our trip and unfortunately, the hotel did not make it easy for us.

To anyone who is looking to book here, go somewhere else. Don't do business with this property.

Beware the discount, it seems the hotel is now run down and seems to have been abandoned by any owners/management, and no one is responsible for anything here. We were looking forward to our week long stay but things went downhill as soon as we checked in and we decided to cut our stay short due to the appalling service. We simply had too many issues that no one seemed to be able to do anything about.

- We stayed in the daku villa. Aircon was not cold, the water coming out of the tap smelled like gasoline and burned rubber, room was full of mosquitos, there was a rooster right behind our room that started at 430 and construction at 7am across the room. We did not have a single full night of sleep during our stay. We were promised a quiet room when we booked.
- Breakfast was not good, and when we ordered their “shock burger” we were really shocked as they served us meat that was sinewy and tougher than a shoe.
- The staff is inattentive they gave my phone number to another guest thinking it was the number to the antigen swab clinic and I was therefore contacted about swab tests by other guests, and the staff was unapologetic about it even though it was a big breach of privacy. The irony is that they referred to privacy every time we asked for the management contact information to have our issues cleared up.

It’s a shame that things have gotten so bad, the location and the beach are otherwise really nice. I let the staff know that I hope to hear from the owners but it seems that they don’t care about the resort. This “luxury” resort was the low point of our trip.

I feel that we should have gotten a full refund for our sleepless nights too, but it seems pointless to talk to the staff. The captain left the rats to run the ship. Truly embarrassing, stay away from this place.

Isla Cabana Resort is a cute but luxury hotel complex directly on the water and in very close proximity to many activities in Siargoa. The villas are clean and well kept and the room service is great! I recommend a beach front villa with a small private pool as you can spend more time alone if that's what you want on your holiday.
Please be advised that the beach is public so it can get busy during the days but it did not affect our vacation at all.
The food in the hotel is quite good, their pool bar closes quite early in the evenings however so if you want to continue your night, you would have to go to a local bar.
We will be returning again.

I like this place. But, beware of a few things: 1. Very noisy at night, as you can hear everything that's happening in the area - parties, videoke, chattering, and even church music at 6 am in the morning 2. Hot water stopped but they fixed it. 3. Get the Ocean premier rooms rather than the Ocean premier - it's tricky... a big difference in the view and location for a minimal price difference. Overall, i"d give it one more chance. But considering staying at other places as well.

Booking a room was the first hurdle we had to overcome. They do not accept credit cards and we had to do an international transfer to book our room which can sound a bit skeptical with the banks themselves. I had to pay a 25 dollar transfer fee from my account to isla cabana’s account. I think that is something that the resort needs to fix ASAP. The Cabana we had Mam-On 1 was great but the AC unit could be cooler. The internet was bad and we had to go to the restaurant or the front desk to get decent WiFi. There were times the power would cut off but would come back on after a few minutes. Also, the noise from the night life needs to be toned down some since that could bother some people who want to relax at night. It happens I think all around those places. The water heating was great but you had to wait a few minutes for the hot water to kick in. Cleaning crew was wonderful and they do a great job of keeping the place clean as long as you tell them to. Tours are offered in the hotel and we went on most of them. They can be a bit pricey and the places you go to have little 100-150 pesos tourism fee here and there. Also, if you want surfing lessons, be ready to pay the instructor and the person shooting videos for you on your phone. The tours themselves were really great. Our family enjoyed them. The tricycle drivers were a bit sketchy with their prices. I would suggest asking how much it would cost to go somewhere before riding them. We did not have any roach problem since we asked housekeeping to clean our room every day. I would also commend the food preparation staff and servers for a wonderful breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food was amazing. We stayed there for 5 nights and had some memorable experiences in Siargao. I would recommend this place but also be aware that some of these touristy places do have some drawbacks. Overall a 4 out of 5 experience.

I stayed at the Isla Cabana Resort in General Luna for the last 4 days.
The room was spectacular with a wide nice shower, an espresso machine, tea and cold water (you can refill it at the corridor..).
Unfortunately there was a bad smell every time I used the shower…
The resort is located by the beach at the most attractive area in General Luna where you can find a lot of restaurants, shops etc.
The disadvantage of that is that you can hear the parties and the too loud bars music until midnight… if you like it or not 🤣
The air condition is strong and makes the room cold (very important at these hot days) but you should push the ON/OFF button few times until it starts or stops and since it’s a “window air conditioner” you can hear and smell what happens outside… (I especially liked the smell of chicken BBQ).
Internet access was available 90% of the time and very slow 100% of the time.
The team is nice and welcoming.
Breakfast is decent but very basic… cappuccino is served at 100 degrees 🤣 but the Shakshuka was OK - I would expect for much more regarding the high rate for night.
I asked for a late check out (2 pm instead of 12:00 o’clock…) they replied that it’s ok, the room will be available for me for 1,000 pesos per hour !!! I was shocked and ask the double check it with a manager and the next reply was that the room is not available …

The bottom line : it was just OK, too pricey, over rated and I’ll definitely look for another option during my next stay..

Yes if bitten with open wound it's necessary. Although many dogs that visit there are owned by people who live there and just there because they go for the Skim boarding in the afternoon.

I would recommend to book your accommodation ahead. This resort easily fills up especially during peak season. I don’t know about if outside guests can use the pool. You may ask the property to be sure.

I do not work for the resort. You need to get in touch with them directly. Google Isla Cabana Resort.
