Restaurant: The Restaurant of Buddha is a nice Thai cousine with a good selection of meals. Going from breakfast to dinner. Resort: The Resort has been the best place I've been to in my month long travel through the philippines, or as I would call it, home. Everyone in Buddha will make their best to make sure you have the best stay in Siargao and always have a smile for you. From recommendations to just having a talk with you and telling you about the best places, they are always happy to help. The accomondations are cozy and will be cleaned up daily. For people that like to stay in touch with there beloved ones, they also got wifi in the rooms and resort areas. As I already have been surfing I booked a surf package for improving and had the best time in the water, always guided to good spots fitting to my level. For me, that makes a highly recommendet stay!…
I called last minute to book 5 nights and ended up staying a whole month. Buddha was just so comfortable I didn’t want to leave. The place is extremely well managed by Bobbie and all her staff is awesome. They are super friendly and really know how to make their guests feel at home. We had such a great time together. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the garden very well maintained, and the outdoor seating restaurant serves delicious Thai dishes. During my stay in Siargao I had online work to do and Buddha was perfect for this, offering the right balance between privacy and social life. The main reason I chose Siargao as my destination was to learn surf. Buddha assigned me Daniel, an off the charts local instructor, and we had so much fun on our daily surf sessions. With him I went from being a total newbie to be able to ride pretty well sized waves. I also went to the island-hopping tour with three other guests at Buddha. Trexia, a member of the staff, was our tour guide and she made sure we had a fabulous day out.…
My partner and I spent a month in the Philippines and this was by far the most memorable part of the whole trip. We probably had the most rain of our whole trip whilst in Siargao but it was still our favourite place! We spent a week here compared to the 2-4 days in other places on our trip and we are SO glad we did it this way. THE ISLAND Siargao is such a beautiful island, its easy to get around but i’d definitely recommend getting a moped and exploring the island. There are plenty of tasty restaurants and great nightlife and the people are so incredibly friendly! THE SURF CAMP We were super hesitant about booking a surf camp as it was probably going to be the most expensive part of our trip, but it was something we really wanted to do. So after a lot of research and reading plenty of reviews we decided it was between Kermit and Buddha. We got in touch with both resorts as we had a lot questions. I’m not the most confident swimmer and after reading 1or 2 scary reviews I needed to be reassured by the surf camp before we booked. Bobby, our point of contact from buddha, could honestly not have been more helpful, she answered all of our questions and went above and beyond right from the start. Id say she is the sole reason we chose Buddha over Kermit as she helped with any queries we had and Kermit just didn’t offer that service - we thought that was a clear reflection of both places. We went to Kermit for food and the vibe at Buddha is definitely a lot more personal and friendly even from first encounters, we couldn’t of been happier that we chose Buddha after we had visited Kermit. Everything was so smooth right from the start with organisation and communication, the guys were all spot on and couldn’t do enough to help us settle in. We had our first surf lesson the day we arrived, Badok & Torra were our instructors and they were INCREDIBLE!!! As I said i’m not hugely confident in the water and Badok made me feel so safe at all times, despite being smaller than me, he always made sure I didn’t get wiped out and took the brunt of the wave. He was so encouraging and just such a great teacher, I managed to switch from a foamy to a fibre board in just a couple of days and was standing up on pretty much every wave by the end. I was totally hooked by the end of the camp and wanted to stay in Siargao for the rest of our trip. The community feel when you’re out in ocean is amazing and we feel so blessed to have experienced and been a part of it. I know Ben really appreciated all that Torra did for him and we progressed so much in that week - it was definitely money well spent! We honestly felt like we were leaving family behind when we had to leave Siargao, it was so sad! Since leaving we sent some of our friends Badok's way for lessons and they had the exact same experience and LOVED it. THE HOTEL The accommodation itself is basic but clean and everything you could need. I’d say literally the only downfall (apart from the weather) was that as the shower is solar powered it wasn’t always hot but other than that I literally couldn’t fault our time at Buddha. The staff could not of been more helpful from before we even arrived to still now, I know they’re only a message away to help with any tips or questions we may have for our future surf. Big shout out to Maria who took us on our boat tour and prepared our food (which was by far the best food we had on a boat tour in the Philippines) - she was amazing all week. Thank you to all of the staff and instructors who made our week so memorable and made us feel at home / like family, we’re so grateful.…
I stayed at Buddha for a week and booked the 7 day surf package. The staff were so friendly and helpful, Bobby is an awesome host! The room was comfortable and big. Breakfast was good. They helped me to rent a scooter and also sent my laundry out for me. Also they have 2 super cute dogs and the place is really safe with a security guard at night. The surf lessons were good but to be honest, I wouldn't book the package again as it didn't give me freedom to just rent a board and surf. The weather was so rainy during Feb so I didn't get to do all the trips but we had a island hopping day which was cool. Would definitely come back! :)
