My partner and I had several nights booked but due to the catastrophic condition of the hotel laid awake all night and fled the property at daylight. The room was easily the worst place I have ever seen. The front door wouldn't close and there were ants covering the doorstep. The walls, bed linen and bathroom were filthy. Someone captured all the disgusting detail in the pictures of the property. There was only one light in the room and by morning there was no water pressure for the toilet or shower. It was a catastrophe from the start, the property offered a free drink upon arrival but it was warm orange Tang juice. The pool was murky and glowing green. This place is so bad, they couldn't have done worst on purpose.
Booked early a Garden Deluxe Room with 2 double and 1 single bed + 1 Extra bed for 4D/3N at 18T+ with free breakfast for only 2 (even when the room accommodates 6 persons), and no free cancellation. The room was clean and spacious with adequate air conditioning. It has a 32inch flat screen TV with plenty of cable channels to choose from, a personal ref, electric kettle and an open shelves and cabinet. We were provided with free basic toiletries. The linens and towels were fresh, though were old and worn out. The toilet is a big letdown though - although spacious with hot and cold shower, the toilet bowl was not flushing well (had to pour 3 pails of water before everything goes down and kaya pala a drain plunger was provided). It also doesn't have a window or an exhaust so the smell easily permeates inside the room (yuk). There is a balcony in front of the room with a round wooden table and 4 monobloc chairs. The garden is clean and well manicured. The reception area though was hot. Free WiFi is only available at the lobby and very slow, although Smart and Globe cellular internet signals are fast. The swimming pool is nice, although heavily chlorinated, and the water is cloudy - but in spite of this, our kids loved to swim in it. It is a beach front property but the water on the beach is a bit shallow. There is also a bar, several lounging chairs, and a billiard table. The food served in their in-house restaurant is very pricey and the quality is unenticing (eq. a Php 250 breakfast of corned beef and egg, at least the corned beef could have been an imported brand instead of a cheap local brand). That is why I never saw an outsider eat at their restaurant. The location of the property is very convenient - just in front is a Convenience Store (but closes early), some souvenir stores and several restaurants. Across the street is a Food Park selling all kinds of international cuisine but a bit pricey. Farther down are 2 cheap, budget-friendly eateries, and on the left is a BBQ restaurant. What is very upsetting about this place is their customer relations: I made a simple, rational request that was unreasonably denied. Since our 2-days Tour Pickup was at 6 AM, and their restaurant opens at 6:30 AM, I made a simple, justifiable request that we will instead avail of our free 6 breakfast on our last day (when we have no more tours) instead of having the 2 free breakfast each day, explaining that our tour pickup was very early and their restaurant opens at 6:30 - and IT WAS DENIED? How unreasonable can you get!!! I would have scored your resort higher.…
A magnificently located property with stunning beach outlook. That's the good points. The bad points are almost too many to mention, but if you are charging top western prices, it is incumbent upon any establishment to live up to the prices you are charging. By that I mean, toilets that are capable of flushing toilet paper and do not block up, a shower that works and not dribble out in a trickle. A cup of coffee would be nice with breakfast (but only if you order the American breakfast??) Disinterested staff hang around their stations all day, waiting for customers that don't wish to give this establishment one cent more than they've been already fleeced. Don't be stingy and make sure all your amenities are first class. Stark white led globes do absolutely nothing for ambience. The place is screaming out for some warm yellow lighting. In all seriousness, you cannot charge so much and give so little in return.…
(BTW the trip from the airport to General Luna is a standard P300 either direction). We stayed in this place for four nights in a standard room opposite reception and close to the road. No complaints about the room, or bed or aircon - not noisy.Veranda outside. WIFI is located in dining room, bar beside pool and seaside. Its fairly OK - we could get it faintly on our room balcony. At the far end to our room was the beachfront. You can swim but its pretty shallow. Lots of seaweed beyond a cleared area but no coral. Closeby on the beach are other resort restaurants, like Patrick's On the Beach. You can also walk along the beach to the boardwalk where there are flimsy (and dangerous) stepladders connecting small boats. Outside the hotel entrance you turn right (northwords) for most of the restaurants and hotels and where you head to Cloud 9 point. We were not disappointed with this place. I'd say the standard rooms are the best value.…
This is a beach front resort that is acceasible to nearby bars and restos. Located along the main road and walking distance to many other establishments. Going to the Cloud 9 area would already require you to take public transport or motorcycle. They have a pool and spacious lobby and lounge area. Mid range level. You can fly your drone at the pool area facing the beach.
My mom and I stayed at Cherinicole for a night. It is a beachfront accommodation with a swimming pool. We stayed at their Garden deluxe. The room is spacious and they also have tv inside the room. It gives a homey feeling. Just bring toothbrush and toothpaste because they don't provide. I also suggest you bring your own conditioner, I tried their own but it smells bad. Room rates are not inclusive of breakfast. There is no wifi inside the room or at least in our room when we stayed there. I would also suggest a bidet inside the toilet. I agree with the other reviews, a good maintenance would be good for the place. It is an affortable place considering the location and a beach front property.
I really liked the location, the beach and the ever smiling people who worked there. But, the owner needs to spend some money on maintenance, renovation better kitchen team. Reception area was sad. Even though the restaurant was empty, the food took forever to arrive. Really noisy air conditioner. I felt like I was in the engine room of a ship. The bathrooms need serious help. No water pressure (shower is a trickle). Molds on the ceiling. Loose wash basin (almost fell when I put my hand on it). And no fan - so after you use it, the whole room smells! Dear owner, please spend some money on maintenance and renovations. You have gem than you are letting to to pot.
Good place to stay if you are just looking for a place to keep your stuff when you go out roaming over the island and sleep at night when you get tired. They’ll accomodate those what you need that they can assist but will resist/suggest something else if they cannot.
My group ran out of options for budget to mid range hotels, so we ended up here for 4 nights. To think I was trying to book for hotels at least 4 months prior to the trip. The closure of Boracay probably played a big factor along with Siargao's current title as being the "it" place to go to. Their cheapest rooms have a double bed. It can fit two small people but was a bit tight. Water pressure wasn't that good but doable. My room had water heater even though it was advertised as without one. The bed had threadbare sheets and pillows were lumpy. Basic toiletries and daily fresh towels were a plus. Food. Didn't eat at the resort at all. Pricing was a bit high versus service and food quality. Besides, restaurants were pretty abundant in the area. We opted to have our breakfasts just across the street at Ronaldo's. We pre-ordered the night before and had it scheduled for whatever time we wanted the next day. Cheap and good. Lunch we had on whatever island we may be. Dinner was among the top recommended restaurants, all within walking distance. Amenities. The pool was clean. The beachfront was quiet and relaxing. A nice place to just chill and read a book or drink a beer. Just have mosquito repellent. The entire island is teeming with them. Staff. They were accommodating enough. On the shy side perhaps and could do with a bit more training. Location. A definite advantage. Most of the recommended restaurants were just within walking distance. The boulevard is also near if you need to buy ingredients at the market before leaving for your island hopping. It is also where most pump boats leave from. Our pump boats on the other hand were docked maybe around 50 meters to the east of the resort so also very convenient. All in all for the cheap price we paid for the room. It was value for money. More so since we were out and about all day long for our activities and just needed a place to crash at night. Albeit with our own ensuite bathrooms. If you prefer to just relax at the resort then it would be better to pick the bigger ones with more amenities. This resort is good for its location and basic rooms only.…
The hotel was okay. We had a free upgrade due to a problem of the system which was good news for us! That room was nice and we had a view on the beach. Staff were pretty nice but need to greet their customers more and smile a bit! Service at the restaurant is pretty weak. We ordered a toast with cheese which took us about 50 min?! And the worst thing was that it didn’t even taste good. However the location was okay and there are nice resto’s outside the hotel. Bathroom was okay, there is hot water but not a lot of water.. their bathtub was a bit dirty as well. Overall, it’s an okay hotel but if you plan to stay the whole vacation in the hotel I would not recommend it.
