This was my wife and my 5th or 6th visit to Frangi and I’m well overdue for a review – but after our most recent wonderful visit, first vacation post COVID, I felt compelled to give an extremely well deserved shout out. While there were still a few COVID restrictions on the island when we visited at the end of May (had to stay within the “bubble”), we still had an amazing time at Frangi and in Anguilla as always. We were able to do pretty much all of our favorite things, and the place was happily humming on all cylinders. Huge smiles! It was exactly what we both needed after all the craziness of last year and would highly recommend. Couple minor hoops to jump through on the way (COVID test in US and on arrival) but easy peasy and well worth it. We’ve been fortunate enough to travel a fair amount over the years, a good bit around the Caribbean, but also Europe, and Australia/Pacific. We’re complete beach addicts but do try to go somewhere new and different every year as possible too. That said, ever since we visited Frangi for the first time, we try to come back every year, even making the trek numerous times from the west coast while we were living in San Francisco. The beach is unparalleled, the resort is absolutely beautiful, food and drinks top notch, and most importantly, the Frangipani team are some of the kindest, warmest, and most fun people we’ve gotten to know in our travels. They make every guest, repeat and new, feel at home in paradise immediately The location is absolutely phenomenal, located in the center of Mead’s Bay, one of the most beautiful white beaches in the world, with gleaming blue water and epic sunsets every night. There are a number of other places within easy walking on this roughly 1.5-mile beach, several of which are phenomenal restaurants (e.g. Blanchard’s, Jacala, Straw Hat more below) and very fun beach bars often with live music (e.g. Ocean Echo, Waves), but Mead’s Bay still retains the feeling that the beach is all your own. Truly magical. And the Frangipanni fits into the scene perfectly. The hotel, which is probably a little under 20 rooms, perfect size, is beautifully landscaped throughout, with rooms spread across three levels around a beautiful infinity pool looking out over the ocean, with the beach immediately off the patio (in some cases, literally outside your room’s door). The rooms themselves are gorgeous and well designed, very clean, able to be kept nice and cool, many with porches and epic views of the ocean. We’ve stayed in some of the non-view rooms before too and have still found them to be great. The hotel has a good gym as well that’s well maintained with a decent offering of cardio, weights and other equipment – we, and other guests, were able to utilize very comfortably even during COVID. You can also take out Frangi’s SUPs, Hobie-Kats, or sea-kayaks all of which are a blast or even go wake-boarding/water-skiing and the team on the beach is happy to help. Each guest has their own beach set-up as well that are nicely spaced. And Straw Hat, the restaurant located on the property, is one of the best on the island. Incredible breakfast (included with your room!), delicious lunch offerings, and phenomenal dinner, not to mention a great bar. The Straw Hat team (and food) are awesome too, even through COVID, always smiling and laughing and making folks feel welcome. You can order drinks and food from your beach chair and Angel (who’s a complete stud) will have it to you before you even ask. Finally, the overall service and genuine care from the Frangi team to their guests is what further sets this place apart. They hit that perfect balance of warmth, grace, and fun, always being there to help with whatever you might need but still letting you do your own thing – the perfect Anguillan vibe. Candace, Susan and the folks at the front desk are incredibly helpful with reservations, transportation or anything you need. Juman, Collin and the team on the beach are fantastic and the grounds crew and house keeping couldn’t be more kind or friendly. Shannon and Scott, the owners are beyond sweet and make everyone feel at home. They recently brought on a new manager, John, as well to assist and he couldn’t have been cooler or more helpful, clearly embodying and enhancing the vibe. There is still no better vacation I could recommend than visiting Frangipanni in Anguilla. It's the best.

Hotel's Favorite
I've researched this place for years and the reviews are always perfect and I can see why. Shannon and Scott run a great boutique hotel in the middle of paradise! They recently won Hotelier of the year and I can see why. This hotel did not disappoint whatsoever. All the reviews below are spot on. We arrived on a Monday morning as we had spent 1 night in St. Martin on the dutch side. Took a cab to the public water ferry to Anguilla. You need your passports in St Martin, they check them, then go to another window to pay a tax, then wait inside to board the pubic ferry, schedule is posted online and supposed to run on time, ours did so we thought and as we were to board, the boat pulled away and came back25 mins later. Its $20pp, cash once on the ferry. We sat outside up front, about a 25 min crossing. FYI when you leave Anguilla, have the hotel arrange for you the fast ferry, its $70pp but worth it so you get to your plane/airport on time in St. Martin, as the public ferry might not be dependable and you don't want to miss your flight. When you leave take the taxi to the blowing point ferry, check in where you pay the $140, then go to the window to pay the exit tax, that was over $50 total, then go through a small security area then wait till they tell you to board the ferry, its not like back home, its about a 35 ft boat that only seats 12 people. The channel was rough going back 4 footers hitting us on the side. I'm a boater and that was kind of unsettling. But got back to St. Martin Safe. That $70pp you pay also includes a blue ticket each which gets you from the port in St. Martin, to the bus that's waiting for you to go to the airport which you can see from the port. Bring cash to tip the porters who put your luggage on the boat, take it off and the driver who puts it in the van and takes it off. You arrive in the Anguilla port to go through customs again, bring your passport, they stamp it and ask where your staying. Then you can hail a cab, all are $18 to your destination. Only thing I would recommend it before you arrive at the Frangiapani resort is to ask the cab driver to stop(tip him extra) at the market literally around the corner not far from the hotel to get snacks if you didn't bring them.I'll tell you more later. We arrived at 10:50am and we were greeted by Shannon, the owner, who was in a cast at the time, good luck with your recovery and hoping in a few weeks it will be off. We ran into her husband Scott in Strawhat and he knew who we were and had a nice chat. There were a few girls working the desk and very friendly personable warm and welcoming. Gave you maps of the island and a restaurant booklet. Anguilla is a foodie heaven Shara is the girl that checked us in. She's a pretty big deal on the island, has her own band, Mystique Vibes and she's the lead singer. She told us on Thursdays her band plays down the beach at Waves, you can walk to it, so that is what we did on our last night. Was excellent!!!! She's big in the UK and can youtube her if you like. Sweetest voice and great band, Shara thank you for ending our trip on a high note! Our room was not ready but Shara said they'd get us when it was, which she did around 2pm and gave me the complete tour of the room and how the shower worked etc. What's cool is that you get an actual key to your room, not a plastic keycard. Our luggage had already been brought up to the room. The resort is not too big not too small, beautiful infinity pool, lounge chairs umbrellas, palapas on the beach, pure white sand and clear blue carribean ocean doesn't get any better than that. Also a pool by the office and spa. We were given a rum punch which was to die for, the best! The guys who work the water sports desk, give you a flag by your beach chairs, when its on an angle no activity but the minute you put the flag straight up they will come to you with menus for drinks/food. Pretty cool system, we didn't realize that till later in the day. There is the strawhat that serves all breakfast lunch and dinner and to around the corner of the strawhat there is a beach bar window you could order drinks etc. Full bar inside the restaurant too with Tv's. Where the water sports desk is is where the cocktail hour is located by the pool. Lovely local gentleman was playing music during the hour and then proceeded to go into Strawhat while we dined and continued to play, he was so good! Sat on the beach and noticed most had plastic tumblers and realized in your room, once you got in, there were 2 tumblers for each guest to use poolside as their was a water fountain by the water sports desk and the ice machine was by the check in area, eco minded and perfect as the tumblers kept our drinks cold! Kudos. Straw hat is the restaurant attached to the hotel so its separate from the hotel, but our breakfast was included. The left side of the menu was included and if you ordered off the right side there was a small nominal fee it was added to your tab. We charged everything at the resort to our room. No need for cash while on property. Everything can be used with US dollarts for tipping staff etc, not an issue. They drive on the left hand side of the road but the steering wheel is still the same side. I would not advise driving, as we heard there were a few head on collisions while there, usually tourists hitting locals! Our room was 8B and it did not disappoint at all. Huge, cathedral ceiling, 2 fans overhead, bathroom was separate with a rain shower, huge 3 door closet with mirrors and a mirror on the wall as you walked in, huge countertop with sink, glasses, blow dryer, toiletries, soap etc, plenty of towels. We had 2 sliding glass doors that walked out onto a balcony overlooking the pool and sunset as it faced west! We had a fridge, wtih 2 very large bottles of water, ice in the freezer. We were given the 2 tumblers with Frangiapani on them, a beach bag, which I did use instead of my own, and a very wonderful bottle of Rum!!! FYI there is no elevator to our room, you have to use the stairs, its 3 flights but not an issue. There was turn down service every night between 6-8pm and every Wednesday also Shannon and Scott host a cocktail hour with wine, and 4 different kinds of appetizers. We found out the week we were there there a lot of repeat customers, who've gotten to know each other and tend to book the same week every year, so a lot of them were from the New England areas as were we so that was a bonus on our stay. I can see the repeat the resort is wonderful, clean, well kept up and mostly recovered fromt he hurricane a few years back. They are still in the process of working on the penthouse suite and 3 ocean front rooms, which sit over the restaurant. No noise at all from the workers, like you didn't even hear them at all, you'd see them but not a peep. Where you checked in, above it was the gym, perfect, all the machines, 2 of each, bike, eliptical, treadmills, all over looked the ocean, what a view, there was AC in there, also water fountain and towels outside before you walked in. There was weights, matts, dumbells, free weights and kettleballs, etc. There is a spa on property, we did not use it. There is a boutique store on property with clothing etc, but no sundries, or snacks of any kind, no crackers etc, soda, so hence me saying go to the market nearby for a few items. The water sports desk is by the infinity pool, water fountain is there too. You can use the hobie cats, there are 2 of them, there are sea kayaks and paddleboards, all included and there is a smaller powerboat to use if you wanted to go tubing on the big mabel, but the week we were there the seas too rough, didn't calm down till Thurday. Tuesday we boarded the Frangicat with another couple and set out for the day, the seas were a little rough so they drove us to the other side and got on the boat there so we got to see the other side before coming back closer to our hotel, so that was an added bonus. Hit a lot of the bays, got off and swam, had lunch at Davida, which was so good, and last stop was Sandy Island which was literally submerged for 2 weeks after the hurricane but it back up and running, lots of coral reefs around it so you have to be a local to maneuver around it, bar/food on island with chairs etc. People can spend the day out there, its not far from the hotel, but we made that our last stop before going back to the resort. Our captain and first mate were awesome. Great rum punch and wine. Bring your wallet as lunch is not included. Its' $100 pp that's discounted as its more if you don't' stay at the resort. The boat goes out on Tues/Fri. They adjust according to weather, so I was happy we got the boat ride in. The rooms and grounds, pool all A+ well kept up. The staff so friendly and courteous. The owners are around 95% of the time and when they are always interacting with their guests. The hotel literally is within walking distance on the beach, which we did 3 of the 4 nights, to go to dinner. We hit Oceans Echo for dinner, one night we hit Blanchards, we didn't have a reservation, but I would suggest that you do as it was a 90 min wait but we lucked out and scored 2 seats at the 8 seated bar. Blanchards also has a beach bar and grill, more casual than the restaurants, plenty of outside seating etc. Jacala is also very good, make reservation though. We walked to the Four Seasons and ate outside at the Bamboo Bar and Grill, the best lobster pizza and jerk mahi I've ever had, and Strawhat, to die for too Crayfish and shrimp. You will not get a bad meal anywhere in Anguilla. All their tomatoes on island are grown there!!! Don't pass up the tomatoes on anything. Also the strawhat restaurant has chairs/umbrellas, tables outfront to rent for the day if people on the island are nearby and not staying at a resort. Its like that by the Ocean's Echo restaurant, Waves, Blanchards, people can go to these restaurants and for a small fee rent a chair to be on Meads Bay. Meads bay gorgeous beautiful white sandy beach, clear water, just wonderful. I can see why people go back every year. Not a ton to do on the island, mostly beaching water sports etc, but if your up to relax, beach and read a book and experience the finest cuisine and local fare this island is for you. We will be back! Only one suggestion where the water sports desk is would make a great beach bar! Closer to the pool. Thank you again Shannon and Scott for a wonderful experience at Frangiapani, kudos to you and your staff!

Our first trip to this magical island and we stayed at the Frangipani based on the great reviews and also because we have come to prefer smaller boutique hotels. Most of the guest were returning and were happy to take us under their wing. We booked the Jr Suite which was a second story unit with a full kitchen and laundry over looking the sea....and oh what a view we had, especially at sunset. The staff makes everyone feel welcome and frankly, we found this everywhere we went on the Island. We felt very safe exploring where we could given the covid bubble and ever restaurant we could go to was very good. Our favorites were Blanchards up the beach (great local place for lunch too) and Embers. The food at the Straw Hat at the resort was also delicious. We cannot wait to return next year to experience the island, outside the bubble...we booked the same week and the same room....until then...

We just returned from our annual fabulous visit to Anguilla and Frangipani. Yes, there were hoops before traveling; they were not overwhelming and, honestly, were worth it. Once the basic paperwork was completed and the final US Covid test results were in hand, everything fell into place easily. The Anguilla Tourist Concierge was very helpful and, on the island, everyone we associated with from the Anguilla Health Ministry as spot on with information and assistance. We both had our shots before we left the US; we encountered no health issues during our 2 1/2 weeks on the island. We still had to quarantine for 14 days in the Meads Bay bubble, but with some of our favorite restaurants in the same bubble (Sharky's, Ember, Picante, Straw Hat, Mangos) that was not a problem. The healthcare workers came to Frangipani to do the additional testing. On Day 14, they were there early in the morning and by mid-afternoon had informed us that we were out of the bubble -- we went merrily on our way to la Dolce Vita for dinner that night. As I said, the hoops were worth it! The entire Frangi staff have proudly been vaccinated. They are dead serious about masking and safety and that is incredibly reassuring. Our stay this year had everything we love about Frangipani --the wonderful facility, the beyond terrific staff, the fabulous setting (85 degrees every day!). But this year, it had the added benefit of reminding us of the joys of normalcy. We are so glad that we went!

Frangipani is great! My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. Everything was just perfect! Scott and Shannon are amazing hosts and do a great job making sure everything is perfect. The staff here are incredible and treat you like family. From the pool, the beach, Strawhat Restaurant, dinner reservations at other venues, this is a magical place to visit and Scott and Shannon do a superb job! I've been all over the world and the beach here is a 10! The sand is soft both on the beach and in the water. We took their boat, the FrangiCat on a beautiful 4 hour tour of the area. I highly recommend doing that. Yes, you have to jump thru a few hoops because of Covid to get here, but it really isn't bad. After experiencing it it would not deter me from coming here again. Covid test before we left the States and a Covid test when we got off the ferry at Anguilla. Again, nothing that would keep me home. If you are looking for a beautiful beach resort with amazing staff and hosts then this place is for you! We already planned our next trip back in May!
