The apartment was quite nice with a large shaded outside area, with great views, framed by the large pine trees, of Panarea and the marvellous blue sea. The outside area contained a large table and comfortable chairs and drying guard. The bed was comfortable. The only downsides were that there could have been a kettle and a coffee machine. There was nothing to boil water with on the gas cooker. We really liked Malfa, not that there was very much to do there. The centre of the village, if you could call it a centre, was a nice uphill walk on a paved path pasted gardens full of flowers, vines and vegetables.

Stayed here and had the most fantastic time. Paola was so, so helpful and got us here from the airport in Catana. Quiet, unspoilt beautiful island. The two-storey apartment was lovely. Had everything we needed including complete privacy. Gorgeous views. Short walk into the town (uphill) and need to remember things shut down between 1-5pm. Wonderful boat trip to see the other islands - recommended. Buses were easy and cheap and took us all around the island (which is quite tiny). Would love to come back for longer. Not for anyone wanting lots of night-life (which I didn't).

This was an off-season working holiday and ended up being more of a pleasure than we had imagined. We took two adjoining apartments and were delighted with them - they were very well appointed and spotless. Giuliana was on hand to help us with anything we needed. Her English is faultless! Malfa is just the right size for a week's visit and makes a great base to see the island. Buses take you easily in any direction you want so we investigated a different beach every afternoon. Walking around Malfa was a joy with its abundance of bougainvillea, hibiscus and lemon trees and its little white lanes. Everyone was very friendly and we had some lovely meals as well (don't miss the cannoli with citrus cream). We absolutely loved Salina. Thanks so much Giuliana. (We meant to post this a lot earlier.)

We stayed in a two story apartment. The comfortable and appealing double room had a spectacular view over a bay, which could also be enjoyed from deck chairs in the front yard. (Note: The second bedroom being very rudimentary, without a large window and bunk style.) The apartment, overall, had a relaxed, cottagey, and comfortable atmosphere. The owners/staff were very welcoming, easy going, informative and friendly... while not being in any way intrusive. They were also very efficient as required. We were there just before the (very busy) tourist season, but the feeling - though we were sadly only there for 4 days - was one of being part of a local village - People were friendly, and there were some lively local gatherings in the city square, as well as religious processions. There were a few excellent places to eat tucked away within easy walking distance, a nearby pebbly beach, and some wonderful walks on the island. Proximity to other Aeolian Islands - each with their own attributes - provided other day trip opportunities. We were there for the Caper festival. Locals were very hospitable, with lots of food for a small donation - but we were disappointed it was not a more lively (though rain did intrude).

I had a lovely stay here. The owners were very friendly, kind and helpful. They picked me up in their car from centre of town on my arrival. The apartment was very well laid out and has everything you could possibly need. It is a short walk to the centre of town via the little lane. A real home away from home. Very peaceful and lovely views.
