Overrated. We had an orribile room very humid with a tiny window. Overpaid!!! The pool is small and they give very basic towels. Breakfast is very basic. The only plus is the location in centre of Malfa which is 20 min by car from S Marina Salina
The Ravesi Hotel is definitely one of the most charming and relaxing hotels I have stayed all around the globe. It offers an amazing view, the charm of the traditional local architecture and the peace of an enchanting garden that gathers the main botanical species of the island. Miss Carla Ravesi, the owner of this piece of heaven, descendent of a local family, looks like a fairy tale character that is constantly discretely and peacefully ensuring that everything runs smoothly like a typical Italian mother. She did her best to preserve the traditional mood of the island, carefully selecting the setting and furniture of the rooms that once were her family house. She also cooks the beautiful local cakes that you can enjoy for breakfast. The panoramic pool is the best spot to chill out in the central part of the day when it can be too hot to head to one of the many pristine water shores of the island. My favorite shore is just a short walk from the hotel, it is a rocky wild bay with very few people bathing and clear blue water. The hotel staff is very efficient, kind and discrete and was trained to transmit the polite standards of local hospitality. The bar offers a great selection local fresh food and a variety of alchemically mixed cocktails to frame the sunset with a perfect aperitivo by the pool. The hotel offers a boat service operated with a traditional Italian wooden small vessel from which you can dive in the best sea waters that cannot be reached by land, with a grand final at the breathtaking Pollara bay, the ancient crater of the volcanic island partly collapsed into the sea. The hotel is the best place to experience the traditional taste of the island, far from the globalised standards of commercial hotelerie. I will definitely come back.…
Hotel Ravesi is in the middle of a tiny little village with some good restaurants nearby and there is a beautiful walk down to the rocky beach. The hotel itself is small and intimate and they put on an extraordinary spread of food in the late afternoon to enjoy with your cocktails. The rooms are simple and elegant and the staff are really down to earth and helpful. We took taxis from the main port of Salina and went on a boat trip to Stromboli from the Malfa port. We stayed there with our teenage boys who used the pool and loved the view over to the other islands. I would go back to Hotel Ravesi in a heartbeat!
We spent our last 2 days of our aeolian holiday in Malfa at Hotel Ravesi and it was the best thing we could have done! The view, the swimming pool, the food made fresh by Mrs Ravesi (the owner of the family run beautiful Hotel), the people... everything was just perfect - above and beyond every expectation. Totally recommended!
Everyone so friendly, beautiful gardens, view across the sea to Stromboli,on the edge of the village, so lots of restaurants nearby. Beautiful horizon swimming pool, not huge but adequate. Comfortable rooms. Lovely buffet breakfast. Although not registered as a restaurant, lunch is available, cooked by the owner. We loved our stay here.
