A really lovely mini break staying at Thickthorn Travelodge. Easy to get into the city via the park and ride bus. Taxi back through ABC about £10. Excellent McD’s 5 minutes walk away. Large comfortable warm room with a spacious bath/shower room. Staff were great: welcoming, helpful and friendly. Very good value.

If you love a run down shack with rude management who make a fuss for you asking at the bare minimum, then this is the place to stay. The lady who was supervising, and at a push, “managing” in the morning was pretty abrupt and rude when I raised a request for help over an important matter on their site. All she did was moan under her breath when I walked away and gossip with other staff members during the time I saw her whilst I was here. Perhaps travelodge don’t teach their staff about customer service or decent front of house manners. I know it’s not a five star villa on the dunes of Marbella, but being treated with a bit of courtesy and respect would be lovely. Perhaps senior management should have a word with her about her manner and professionalism. The facilities are pretty run down and need urgent attention too. My husband was a police officer and when I showed him the pictures of my room and its derelict condition he said even the cells are cleaner, better maintained and shockingly more “homely”.

Really nice hotel. Staff were all friendly coming in and out of the hotel. Guests kept noise to a minimum so that was nice. Room was all clean and tidy. Only thing was the breakfast, there wasn't much choice but I found that the perfect excuse to get a McDonald's breakfast which is just over the road. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and will happily go back again.

Should really be 3.5 stars. Pro's Location just off the A11 / A47 junction is ideal if you have relatives in the Hospital, there's a Shell garage, Burger King , Subway and Mcdonalds all within 100 yards of the Hotel. If you need anything then get onto the A47 and either go towards the A140 and then into Norwich where there's a Tesco Superstore just on the right, or head towards Swaffham and the large Longwater Retail park where there's also a Premier Inn. The room was spacious, clean with a TV with Freeview but poor signal on many of the channels, desk, 2 chairs, bed and kettle with tea making facilities. The carpet was spotless and had obviously been well cleaned before I arrived, sheets, pillowcases etc all spotless, 2 large Towels, 1 smaller towel, hangers in the wardrobe , shower gel in a dispenser on the wall in the bath / shower. good Water pressure, plenty of hot water. In room heating was sufficient, but I think it would struggle on a cold night. It was quiet, no road noise and the only noise I heard was from other guests who were fairly quiet as well. Counter staff are brilliant, very helpful and accommodating. Con's The outside area itself is pretty grotty, a lot of litter everywhere, especially near the Burger King and outside the Hotel itself. A shell garage and massive electricity pylon completes the vista from the front window. Bath tub is very small indeed, and the fan in the bathroom was filthy and during the night had deposited dirty fluff all in the bathtub. All it takes is a wipe with a sponge or wet cloth to clean all the dirt off it. Overall, good value for money if you book at the right time, and functional, basic 2 star accommodation as advertised.

I cannot but praise the staff at Norwich Cringleford for making my recent stay a really pleasant one. Prior to my stay I had some questions and the receptionist could not have been more helpful or respectful. On arrival I was greeted cheerfully and offered assistance to my room. The room and bathroom was very clean and aired. The vending machine was a bit temperamental but was sorted quickly. When I left I was thanked for being a customer by a very nice lady. The staff appeared to work as a team and gave a good impression for the hotel. I would certainly recommend Cringleford for a good place to stay. Burger King next door if you are hungry.

Staff are always helpful and polite. Convenient location for Norwich and surrounding area adjacent to park and ride for Norwich. McDonald’s and a small Burger King & Subway very close by. Usually pretty quiet noise wise even at weekends when the hotel can be busy.

We enjoyed our stay near Norwich and appreciated the welcome by Travelodge staff. We were given conflicting advice from Subway employees about a discount being available for Travelodge customers at their restaurant next door but we appreciated the 10% discount which was given by Burger King!

It was clean and warm, water tripped out but was speedily repaired so didn’t affect us. The chap on the desk was friendly and very helpful. Excellent in fact. The room was plenty big enough and a fantastic shower. Can’t think of anything else to write now.
