No-nonsense ACA (Argentinean Touring) hostelería in a beautiful location in charming Cachi. Lovely gardens and very good restaurant. Rooms are quite basic but ok and relative to price. Service is also ok. Parking available. Very close to the centre of the town.

I stayed just the one night at this charming family run hotel in the picturesque village of Cachi. The hotel is a short stroll from the main plaza and bus terminus. Room was spacious with an ensuite and breakfast consisted of a solitary Danish, wholemeal bap and customary dulce de lecha. I have no complaints about this hostel. One minor issue however. After returning from the resto/bar across the street (salta beer $1 per litre), I struck up a conversation with a fellow guest. We got onto the subject of religion. I mentioned that I was a follower of David Icke and that I believed that human beings originated in a breeding program run by a race of reptilians called Anunnaki from the Draco constellation, and that what we call reality is just a holographic experience; the only reality is the realm of the Absolute. The fellow guest looked bemused as I explained my belief in a collective consciousness that has intentionality, in reincarnation, in other possible worlds that exist alongside ours on other frequencies, and in acquired characteristics, arguing that our experiences change our DNA by downloading new information and overwriting the software. The guest soon said he wanted to sleep and stood up, which I thought was extremely rude mid conversation. The lady at reception came over to calm us both down but as I attempted to explain the reptoid hypothesis, she told me it was about time I went to bed. Which I did Great place to stay though How to get to Cachi? Buses run daily from salta via company Ale Hnos (desk 17 in salta bus terminal). Fares can be paid directly on the bus, no need to pre book. Departs at 7, enough time for the sunrise as you weave up the valley. Bus back is daily at 9 am. Fare is ARS 72 each way. Bus trip alone is worth it, 4 hours of amazing scenery

The Senora was really lovely and wanted to make sure that everything was ok for us. Nice big clean room with a place to hang clothes. Bathroom very clean with plenty of hot water for the shower. Wi-fi was ok. Pastries for breakfast was a nice change.
