The hotel has suffered a lot with pandemic and typhoon a year ago, but they have reinvested and made improvements and are on a good path. We stayed here 5 years ago and enjoyed the stay, but this stay was even better. The grounds are a delight with lots of color and artful decor. The breakfast buffet is very good. The staff is cheerful and always helpful. We will be back in the future.
This was our first stop off the plane, and after 1 week. The breakfast is amazing, fresh bread, great bacon, and real hot chocolate!!! The rooms are nice and the beach is peaceful. A very "off-the-beat" resort. 9/10.
Lovely hotel with really great staff and food! We booked this for our final night before flying back home from Cebu airport. Unfortunately our flight from Coron to Cebu was cancelled but after speaking with Kevin at reception they managed to keep our room for the following day and gave us a very late check out which meant we could still use the facilities until 7pm, this made such a big difference to us as we were flying back to the UK. Food and the spa are also really good! Highly recommended for families or anyone who needs a nice hotel close to Cebu Airport and the beach!
I liked the rooms, the bathroom, the view, the pool, the breakfast, the free bicycle rental, and the staff. The gym was small and unclean. The spa could have been better. At times it was too crowded and noisy with events hosing.
Costabella is a very charming hotel! We are in Cebu right now for a resort hopping and our first stop was Costabella. Their loungers and sun beds were very cozy. Since we are travelling with our toddler they merged the 2 double beds and as a result we had a very huge bed which is very helpful when you have a child. The sunrise view from the newly renovated building is breathtaking! The buffet breakfast spread was minimal but everything was so good and tasty. Thank you to Enting for serving us hot chocolate every morning with a smile! Thank you Costabella!
Very friendly and accommodating staff Luna Bar has affordable prices, their staff are friendly too. Their cocktails are my favorite Breakfast buffet is good. Their ube bread is awesome Will definitely go back and recommend this resort
Me and my 11 year daughter enjoyed our stay here at Costabella. The resort exudes Filipino-Spanish ambiance throughout the property. The interiors are reflective of Filipino heritage and the vibe is truly relaxing. The staffs are all very nice, polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was a twin room with very nice interior. the bathroom is big compared to other resorts that we have stayed in prior to visiting costabella. The water pressure is very good too. The beach and the shoreline were nicely maintained -- giving a very luxurious resort vibes. At the buffet breakfast -- it was very impressive that they offered a wide array of foods to choose from. They were all very delicious and we really enjoyed the food. We would surely be staying here again the next time we visit Cebu.…
I stayed at Costabella four times from 2015-2019. It has long been my favorite hotel on the planet for a relaxing vacation. The pandemic put an end to my planned 2020 visit and due to that and the damage done to Lapu Lapu by Typhoon Odette, I, frankly, was not expecting the hotel itself or the staff to live up to previous excellence. Having just returned from a nearly one week visit, I am pleased to say that, if anything, Costabella has even improved! Our premier deluxe poolside room was even nicer than the superior rooms where I’ve stayed in the past, and the bed was, without exaggeration, the widest I have seen in my life. And the view from the balcony of the hotel property and ocean was stunning. But what has always made Costabella such a special place is not just the beautiful hotel and grounds, it is the exceptional staff (and the amazing food!). We had feared that everyone would have left since the hotel was closed during much of the pandemic. But we were pleased to see that many of the restaurant staff remain and that the new staff are equally good. It was great to see Vera still serving and that Gerlie had moved up from an OJT to a permanent position. It was also good to see Engting’s friendly face again. Uneson was very helpful and he and Emille were particularly efficient and friendly additions to the wait staff. Best of all was seeing that Sir Robert was still running the kitchen and restaurant. That explained why the food is simply the best I’ve had in the Philippines. The breakfast buffet was smaller (offered fewer dishes) than in the past, but I was actually glad to see it, as they have kept the best of Filipino and Western breakfasts without being so overwhelming. They still serve a VERY wide variety of breakfast foods (with simply perfect eggs), along with fruits and juices. I should add that the mango shake served at the restaurant is simply the tastiest and most refreshing drink I have ever had. The front desk, bell hops, and housekeeping staff were all very efficient. Marga was especially helpful at the front desk, while Marilou has done a fantastic job with housekeeping for years and Stephanie was friendly. While feeling like I could not praise the hotel enough for what was, really, a prefect visit, I do want to address some complaints I have read and some changes at the hotel. Odette destroyed the really beautiful boardwalk that the hotel had just completed building as well as a number of trees. I actually do not mind the more natural looking rock barriers in the water that they have now, but many will be disappointed that the boardwalk is missing. There are now, however, some free and fun water activities (kayaking and paddleboarding). Second, many have mentioned that the food is expensive and there are few nearby alternatives. But for me, an American, the food was definitely not expensive compared to what I am used to paying and, given the quality, I never felt like I was paying too much, even when compared to restaurant prices in the Philippines. We ate there for nearly a week and never even thought about wanting to go somewhere else. Lastly, I should mention that there are more day use visitors as well as events than I have seen in the past. This may bother snobbier guests, but I consider this beneficial for those of us staying overnight because these visitors subsidize rates for overnight guests; the reason I stayed in a premier deluxe poolside room this time is because it was cheaper than the superior rooms (smaller without the ocean views) were in the past. In fact, right now is a great time to visit Costabella; rates are lower than in the past and the Philippines has gotten rid of mandatory testing for vaccinated visitors and the requirement for Covid-19 insurance. Overall, Costabella retains its title as my favorite resort hotel, not only in the Philippines, but in the world. I am so glad that in 2020, after much pestering on my part, the hotel finally agreed to refund my money when they were closed due to Covid-19. If they had not, I would not have visited again. Instead, I had my most wonderful visit yet and I will be sure to return during my next trip to the Philippines.…
Enjoyed our stay here. Originally booked 2 nights but extended for another two. All staff friendly, pool area lovely and private beach. Not too close to anywhere but you can get a trike from the security gate for 75 peso’s up to the Main Street. There is a local named Roy who offers tours who sits at the walk near the beach. We spent the day on his boat island hopping and snorkeling, he and his family are great.
Everything is perfect!!! all the staff was so friendly and professional, the public place and room was so clean and comfy, i booked for my wife's bday and had arrange for a private dinner on the beach which my wife and daughter loved it! All i can say is worth it and amazing people, great job!!! thank you
