Only stayed for 3 nights, but it was very enjoyable and refreshing. The area is big enough to enjoy clear water swimming pools, a restaurant that serves western dishes including salad, potatoes and closest thing to an "American breakfast" .
The facilities are CLEAN and well maintained. There is a lot of shade on the two pool patio areas. The staff is dedicated to maintaining this place which must be the will of management. The staff includes a lot of people who worked at this place for 10 years or longer. They are very helpful and attentive to the quests.
The room we stayed in is very clean, the beds comfortable, large(not a walk in closet like other hotels), the "air con" was excellent and kept the room very cool.
The activities personnel do everything include arrange car rides and tourist excursions from the property.
The location of the property makes it necessary to hire a taxi to go to a drugstore, or buy other things. No bulk laundry on the island as they send it to Cebu for washing.

Dear Craig G, Thank you for spending your holiday in Costabella. What a great compliment! Everything that we do is for our guests to have an enjoyable and memorable stay. A lot of our team members have lost track of the years that they have spent in the company because they simply enjoy what they do and they have become part of the Costabella Family that genuinely care for its guests. Guests like you keep us going. At the end of the day, we can all say that it is all worth it. We cannot wait to have you back again. Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

Nice hotel complex, far away from the very hectic and noisy city center. Since we had always booked day trips in advance, there were no problems with the connection to the outside. Here you have peace and quiet and plenty of opportunities to relax, refresh yourself or sunbathe. There are two large pools and a beautiful sandy beach right on the ocean with beautiful beach chairs and a wonderful boardwalk with loungers. But to swim you have to wait for the tide.

The entire hotel complex, as well as the rooms, are very well-kept and clean. The rooms themselves are very spacious and contain the largest bed I have ever seen. The view from the room, especially in the evening, is wonderful, you can relax with a bucket full of beer on the balcony and enjoy the sunset. The food was not expensive, but very tasty and of high quality. The staff were very friendly, courteous, always had a smile on their faces and were always helpful. E.g. When my girlfriend was sick, we were immediately given pills against it, which helped very well.

We can recommend a stay here to everyone!

We stayed for 3 nights in a Deluxe Poolside Room. The room was large and comfortable. We had a problem with a leaking air condition, but this was taken care of very quickly. The room was in a 3 storey-building next to the pool (no lift in this building).

The hotel has a lot of facilities including two large pools. The pools are open till late evening, so you can have a swim before going to bed.

The beach is rocky, so not so suitable for swimming. But the boardwalk is quite nice, they have nicely decorated sun beds.

There is not so much around the hotel within walking distance, so we had dinner at the hotel restaurant each day. The food was very good. Also the breakfast buffet was excellent and varied.

Dear JOymermaid, Thank you for having your holiday in Costabella and for appreciating our genuine care. The Boardwalk is a favorite spot in the resort because it is utterly relaxing to be lying in those horizon beds and enjoying the panoramic view of the ocean. If you are early enough to catch the sun rise, you will love it even more! You can watch the sea life when it is low tide but the beach is perfect for swimming when the tide is high. Convenient stores and restaurants are within in 1 - 2 kilometers away from the resort. The Chef will be happy though that you have chosen to dine with us and love our food including our breakfast spread. We look forward to have you again, soon! Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

The resort is probably good for a family , not big , a small beach and average pools.
The staff make it better, they are without exception five star.

The restaurant is generally poor quality with perhaps a too large menu. Breakfast was described by my partner as unappealing. There is much better food and better prices by going to nearby restaurants maybe 5 to 10 minutes by taxi.

An issue brought up before is the shortage of umbrellas for shade. There is very limited chance to get under the shade bearing in mind the number of guests. The hotel must do something about this to protect guests who want to sit by the beach or pool.
The bar is tucked at the back, mostly empty as it has little atmosphere despite good staff. It is also overpriced.

I suggest the hotel get some entertainment , a pool bar open late, a better chef and maybe smaller dinner menu.

The rooms were fine, albeit the tv has a bewildering channel selection with no channel guide. Many stations have nothing.

Dear Sightsee799805, Thank you for choosing us for your holiday. We are happy that we have made a difference in your stay. Our menu is constantly improved from time to time. This is the same way with our breakfast spread. You will like the recent changes that we have made as we have added more choices on our buffet. It is unfortunate that a lot of our coconut trees were uprooted by Typhoon Odette. We are recovering quite well and we have more shaded areas now apart from more umbrellas that are already in place. Now that the pandemic has eased up already, we have entertainment at La Marina every Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You will like the Happy Hour at Luna as you can get 2 mocktaisl or cocktails for the price of one. We have a lot of cable channels but when the provider is down due to some reason beyond anybody's control, it affects us. Since the pandemic hit us, we have tried to reduce the number of paper materials in the room. You will find the channel guide immediately when you click Channel One (1). Our apologies if our team failed to inform you about this. We hope you found more to like in the resort that will merit your return. It will be nice to have you back. Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

When I booked this resort I didn't realise how good it would be but I was impressed from the "get go!" The room was great, everything worked plus excellent food and staff etc (as to be expected).

However for me the surprise was that the whole resort is smoke (and vape) free with the exception of a smoking room off to one side of the bar which was very unobtrusive. The fact that the rest of the whole resort was smoke free was an absolute joy!

My family have always been a fan of this resort. We love going back to the place, but our stay last November, for my birthday was the best by far, I'd say. The resort made me feel so special on my birthday, Sir Jojo and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and my husband, our kids and I truly felt the warmth of their hospitality. And since we went on our staycation without our kids' Ates, we didnt have to worry one bit because the lifeguards were truly watchful and there was a strong sense of security and safety. We had so much fun on the pool, the beach, the bay walk, the bicycle rides and even the restaurants. Shame though that the play house was still closed, but of course we count ourselves lucky to even experience this level of luxury in the midst of the pandemic, so all in all, it was an excellent and memorable stay. Definitely coming back again and again.

Dear lunawanderer, Thank you for spending your birthday with us. It is great to hear that you had the best birthday in Costabella. The safety of our guests particularly the children is paramount to us. While we make sure that they enjoy and have fun, we take extra precaution when it comes to guarding their safety. This is one of the reasons why our Kiddie Korner is temporarily closed right now, considering the pandemic. We made sure though that the outdoor playground is open for our little kids to enjoy, including our wading pool. It is wonderful that we were part of your wonderful experience. Jojo is sending his warm regards. Thank you for the heartfelt appreciation. We are all excited to have you back really soon! Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

During our check in period, front desk is informed that we don’t feel well and yet c/in period is still slow. She was informed prior that accommodation is paid already and we were able to show receipt prior but afterwards would be requesting again to have the copy. Second, while we were having breakfast we have to call the servers several times for our orders. There were 3 servers and yet they are not paying attention. Third, usual room set up doesn’t have toothbrush and toothpaste. Lastly, when we asked for a late check out but yet we were informed that until 4pm we have to pay for an amount of Php600 but yet i requested for 1pm since we are still eating and yet not guaranteed.

I hope that you guys can improve your service since staycation just opened. Experience is very important.

Dear gdebbiejaneg, Thank you for staying with us and for giving us the chance to be even better for our guests. Our apologies for your inconvenience. We understand your concern but we hope you will consider certain procedures that we have to follow to ensure that everything is carried out smoothly with your records. A copy of the receipt is requested of online transactions for accounting purposes. This usually happens when payment has not been reflected yet in our system. Check-out time is 11 am. While we normally extend consideration when the next occupant in checking-in at a later time, check-out as late as 4 pm is charged accordingly, due to added costs of using the room. Guests may still enjoy our facilities after the check-out time. Considering the huge drop of our room rates, dental kit is now provided upon request. Rest assured that we will look into your other concerns and review any deviation from our usual practice. We genuinely care for our guests and we want them to be happy with their stay. A warm welcome will always await you here. Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

Overall the hotel was really really nice. Both pools were clean, operational, and very nice to swim in. Lots of families vacationing here. The location is a little bit far from everything but has a beautiful private beach attached to the property. The room was a lot larger than I was expecting and the bed was comfortable and clean.
Breakfast buffet was impressive, lots of choices and they changed up the options other than eggs and their waffles and french toasts everyday. Even if you do not get breakfast included it is well worth the 900 peso price.
The only two negatives I can give for this hotel is I booked here because it was listed as a dive resort. The "dive shop" was a hut on the beach and the day I went around lunch time they had already departed for their final dive of the day. I am used to shops that offer usually at least one or two afternoon dives and a resort I would expect to have a better shop. The biggest complaint I have is unless you have a rental car a taxi is required to get out to most of the island or Cebu City. The hotel will call a taxi for you and 95% of the time it was a van listed as Ogre's taxi. These unmetered vans will charge 2-4 times the metered rate. When I mentioned this to my final driver to the airport he just laughed and said yes.

Dear generallarry, Thank you for choosing us for your holiday. We are glad that your overall experience with us has been good. As a family resort we pride ourselves with facilities that cater to all ages. Our beachfront location that is far from the busy streets, is one of the considered attractions by most of our guests. Having peace and quiet are simply priceless. Our diving concessionaire can accommodate diving given 1- 2 hour reservation subject to availability. Morning is the most ideal time for diving so if you want that, it is best that you book a day ahead. When the schedule for the day is already full it is already hard to accept additional bookings. Taxis are not in anyway affiliated with the resort. Our team merely assists our guests in booking and usually taxis called in are based on availability. They may vary in sizes but running a meter is the standard practice. Should there be a deviation, we encourage our guests to report it to us immediately so we can call the attention of the taxi driver. Delinquent drivers are actually banned from entering the resort again. We hope you found more to like with us that will merit your return. Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

Costabella was one of my favorite resorts in Mactan. Currently they have increased prices dramatically. Having a beer for 250 pesos, excluding service fee and taxes is not a reasonable price. I could get the room without breakfast for 400 pesos less. The breakfast was priced at 1200 pesos. So 800 pesos suddenly disappears. Nice resort to stay in especially if you like to pay too much for everything. The personnel is unfriendly. On top they made the smokers area a fishbowl with no fresh air, this used to be an open space outside the main resort area. Lot of minus points for a once so nice resort. The road to the resort is very traffic. If you go by car you can practically not leave the resort for a dinner outside or you loose 2 hours of traffic.

Dear Culture46781370603, Thank you for choosing to stay with us although we regret failing to meet your expectations. Our apologies that the sudden surge of oil prices at the time you were here have affected our pricing as well. Beer is relatively cheaper now while breakfast if you book it immediately upon check-in (for room only booking) is given at the special rate of P782.61 net. Room with breakfast is still the better option though. There is a Presidential Decree about keeping a smoke-free environment which we adhere to. For our guests who choose to smoke, we have two enclosed smoking areas and there is a designated open space section at the parking area where they are free to smoke. Traffic is inevitable but one may avoid the rush hour so as not to be inconvenienced. We are known for our genuine and caring team. Our apologies if your encounter with them has not been to your liking. Allow us to discuss this matter with our team so we can retrace our steps and win you back again. A warm welcome will always await you here. Sincerely, Your Costabella Family

First off the staff were excellent. Very polite and friendly. The grounds are immaculate and the pool and beach are fantastic. Open till late too.

The not so good side of it was the WiFi was very poor. It doesn't reach all away around your room and you have to sit in a certain part to get a signal. Also I'm pretty sure they switch it off in the early hours of the morning as you can never get a signal. Next up is the TV. They boast on their website of having over 120 cable channels. They do not. Maybe only 30 of them work. The final thing was there is a rule where you cannot order food from outside and have it at the property. You can do but you have to walk half a mile to the front gate in order to collect it. This is in all weather's too. This is to make you try to eat in their resteraunt which is half empty most of the time. People were just leaving the complex to eat.

Overall its not bad but there is too much wrong with the hotel. It is very old. We had a night at another big name brand on mactan Island which was much better. I'd say pay a little bit more in order to get a better quality stay.

Dear jacko, Thank you for spending your holiday with us and for appreciating our team. We do not compete with the bigger brands, we only aim to be a better version of ourselves, to keep our guests happy. Our apologies about our wifi connection, some weeks ago one communication post went down due to a vehicular accident. Our provider is still working on the effects of the damage. For now we get better connection in public areas but rest assured that this is a work in progress. Every year we embark on improvements to give our guests an even better stay and we appreciate your feedback. Allow us to review your other concerns and discuss it with higher management.
