In a pandemic there are protocols in place for a reason. see below I was shocked at how limited the menu was and the issues ordering room service Room was nice but always wet. like condensation wet with or without aircon on I had to ask several times for STAFF to wear their masks properly AND ask staff to tell guests to wear masks, some came into the buffet without even bringing a mask and they just walked right in others going to the buffet with no mask or under their chins.. cooks with masks under their chins.. servers the same... NOTE * although it is posted to WEAR A MASK ** NO REAL BEACH TO SPEAK OF ** Used Toothpicks with floss attached and used masks on grounds in the pool area **** POSITIVES *** The Staff was very friendly and attentive when the mask issues were brought to their attention, and they did try their best to make up for the delays in food prep etc.. great views.. nice pool.. We got a free bottle of wine and a nice slice of cake adorned with a happy anniversary script ..…
We had a fabulous stay here! Staff are polite, rooms are clean & spacious, food is delicious. The pool is lovely, so instragammable! While we were waiting for our room in the lobby and it was too hot there, my pregnant friend asked for a water but Myla from the sunset resto gave us complimentary drinks. She really made an extra mile for us. We love how Myla made sure that we had everything we need down to the breakfast buffet. She’s so energetic, friendly and corteous. Sandro (waiter) is also friendly & apologetic. Lara from the front desk is perky she activated back the key card since we requested a late check out. Love coming back coz your money is definitely worth it! Such a steal!
Awesome experienced, good place to relax and a very friendly staff! Shout out to Carl from their buffet restaurant service crew thanks bro for taking care of us during our dinner!👌 Surely will be back.
I had a good experience with customer service from on online reservation, talking to the clerk who processed it over the phone, email inquiries, the front desk clerk during check in and check out (Christine) the bell boy who assisted us with our luggages, oriented us about the pool, the restaurant, the sunset, the gym, even agreed to reserve our dinner table (I think he's named Ervin or Earvin, tho not sure), and spoke straight, good, English :) (that's not really important but just noticed it) The beach is small, and we havent really explored it. The pool is big, though quite packed that time, perhaps because of their really good and affordable day-use rates that time. The gym was good said our companions who used it. We got 3 deluxe seaview room, 2 were adjacent/connected, they're pretty big compared to other resort hotel rooms in the area, and we're happy with it.…
AVOID AT ALL COST! DISCRIMATION, UNFAIR TREATMENT AND AWFUL SERVICE Date stayed: 25th January - 27th January 2021 Let me start with the positives: - Great check in experience with Christine. - Front desk supervisor Karen was helpful. - Dan from the restaurant was friendly. - Swimming pool and the view is nice. - Late check out Negatives - No bell man / woman to help you with your bags - Room was only average, not to a 5* standard. Only 2 English breakfast tea and 2 coffees was provided in the room - Small beach If you're vegetarian, you're definitely going to be hungry in this place! Throughout our stay they had no salad or vegetables options! They only had wedges, so I had no choice but to eat their seafood options (only 4 options available) and to go outside of the resort for dinner. Not the relaxing and 5* hotel experience that I was expecting. In addition to this, during breakfast ( we had breakfast once here), I was asked quiet a few times by the waitress if I was sure that my breakfast was free. I wanted to say to her why would I lie and if she wasn't sure if I was telling the truth then perhaps she should check the system? I'm pretty sure that every hotel has a procedure to check whether or not someone has a free breakfast. I let that slide, as I believe that she's currently on the job training. Although I did feel very uncomfortable as she kept asking if I was sure that my breakfast is free. Is it because I don't look like someone who can afford a room package that included breakfast? For our last day, we didn't have breakfast as we felt there were limited options for food (especially if you're vegetarian /vegan). For the price you pay the food and the service wasn't worth it! We finished checking out and my boyfriend asked the security guard, if it's ok for him to pick me up from the lobby as we had a heavy bag with us. He said no. So, we asked another staff as we didn't feel assured to what the security guard told us. We believe the second person either worked at concierge or at the restaurant and he smiled and said yes, it's totally ok. My boyfriend went to get our motorbike, this time another security guard said no after being told by the other staff that it was ok. I was then informed by the first guard that I had to go and meet my boyfriend instead of him picking me up at the lobby. I asked the guard that if my boyfriend cannot pick me up from the side of the lobby. Then it would be great if he could help me with the bag as it's heavy. He didn't respond and just looked at me. He didn't offer any help or assistance at all. Or at least asked someone else to help me with the bag. Perhaps, I didn't look like someone who would give him a tip? Would he have helped me if look like someone who had money? Bearing in mind, that the resort charges a 10% service charge. You would have thought that they would offer at least some sort of service! At this point, I spoke to Karen- the supervisor. She said that its absolutely fine for my boyfriend to pick me up and she proceeded to speak to the security guard " It's fine for her partner to pick her up as they've already checked out and she has a heavy bag. As a discretion, allow her to be picked up". She also asked to speak to their manager as the security guards were being very unhelpful. I asked them what is their policy and an explanation for it. They couldn't tell me. I then asked them the difference between a private vehicle that is a car and a private vehicle that is a motorbike apart from one has 4 wheela and the other has 2 wheels. I could totally understand if they don't allow public vehicle such as a jeep, taxi or a habal habal for safety purposes. Once, again they could not tell me. No apology whatsoever from the security guards. As if they didn't really care about their customers! Eventually, my boyfriend (who also stayed for 2 nights at the resort and only went to get the motorbike from the parking lot) was allowed to pick me up, after the most disrespectful, full of prejudice and discrimination experience I've ever had. To add salt to the wound, as we were exiting we saw that they called the police! They called the police for what reason? There was no shouting or anything that was dangerous that was happening! In fact, Karen, the supervisor actually understood and acknowledged that they were in the wrong. Karen and I were talking the whole time. So, please tell me why they felt the need to call the police? Power trip? Abuse of power? Now tell me, is that how you treat your customers? For a 5* hotel, I would have expected their staff to treat their customers with respect and dignity! If you want to be treated fairly, no discrimination, prejudice or racism then best to stay and spend your money on hotels that are truly 5* such as Shangri-la and Crimson. For the management: - Train your staff better and teach them to actually treat your customers nicely! Teach them to treat everyone fairly and not based on whether they look like they have money. - Have a better process in place, so people actually know what the policy is and why such policy exist! - Perhaps, have an area where people who actually stayed in your hotel with their motorbikes are allowed to pick their heavy bags from / people they stayed with. Since, you have no bellman/woman to help your customers. Such a high competition in Mactan area for hotels, people may visit Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu because it looks nice but they will never come back if your staff can't treat people right! Never again! I can't believe I wasted my money on this hotel!…
