I booked this resort hotel with my 11 year old daughter to celebrate my birthday at Solea. The resort itself is humongous and the pools are very big that it allows you to choose among 9 other pools in the vicinity. Our room was with the beach and pool view and it was very nice. Big sized room with a balcony overlooking the ocean , the pool and its amenities. Super like the view from our room it was amazing. The staffs -- from the front desk, to the bell captain, waiters, pool attendants were all exceptionally helpful, kind and polite. Love them!! Food at the hotel is very good as well ---though its on the pricey side. The pizza (Pizza Funghi) at the Salt and Sky rooftop was amazingly delicious! Buffet breakfast was delicious too with some local foods were on the selection. Over-all I would like to go back here again and enjoy all their amenities again.

The place is huge. There are some parts that are still under construction or under repair due to the typhoon that hit the place but overall it was a nice experience. They have a pretty good selections of food in the restaurant and my son and his cousins had a blast checking put the many pools in the resort.

We booked for sea view. Expecting sea view and pool view is the same🤣 anyway concierge was good. front desk need to train how to deal with guest with booking problem. Food is good service was good. But the pool staff or life guard was only checking with locals specialy if you are wearing cottons shirt made for swimming they gonna inform you that wearing t-shirt is not allowed. But I saw some Koreans wearing cottons tshirt. Even in the slide. But no one inform them about the pool dress code. 2nd day we have, there was a guy wearing civilian shirt try to peek or enter our room without even knocking the door and very suspicious, we immediately report the incident they said it was there mentainance man. (wearing hoody ang motorcycle shirt mentain an e guy. Last thing worst experience. We already check out and I drive my car VIOS from the parking to the lobby drop off or pick area. The security inform is not allowed to wait my passenger in the area. August 9, 12:30pm (violet color uniform) , I inform him I am not here for my passenger I'm here to pick my family we are guest here. But still he TOLD ME please move forward as the guest will arrive your blocking them. When I already load our bags I told im a guest here. He said " I thought ur a grab driver boss. 🤣 Wow. Because I'm driving VIOS BLACKISH RED. FULL OF DESCRIMINATION. CAN YOU TRAIN UR STAFF HOW TO DEAL WITH UR GUEST. CAN'T IMAGINE HOW YOU HANDLE THE REST OF THE LOCALS, NAKA CAR RAKO ANA KUNG MAG TRCYCLE CGUTO DILI ME DAWATON SA GUARD. LEVEL UP TAWON MO. NINDOT KAAYO INYU RESORT. SAYANG GE GASTO SA OWNER NINYU NA WALA MU NIBALUS NIYA PARA SA IYA BUSINESS. TAKE OWNERSHIP MGA STAFF( DILI TANAN) TRAINING AND LEARN FROM UR MISTAKES.

Its my to-go place for a day off (day use of facilities) The cost is 1500/person, but they give you back 750ps as consumable in the restaurant The resto is delicious, the bar is nice, the pools clean if shallow (no deep pool for us kanos). The main attraction is the beach, huge, clean and usually empty-ish Imported white sand instead of the normal sea bottom mud and sludge. Good sea breakers, so no huge waves or currents The fellow visitors are those who can afford the price, so no beggars etc

We stayed here M-Th Nowhere were we notified the kiddie adventure water park was under construction until we saw it. Restaurant breakfast buffet was awesome as you would expect from a quality hotel in 2018. Covid what Covid protocols? Breakfast buffet serving tools shared by everyone. Servers at each station would have been appreciated. I caught a cold. Coffee was very good. On the Covid front you should wash your hands in warm soapy water regularly. But all you get on check in is two bath towels no hand towels. Congrats on soap cartridges in bathrooms but alas no washcloths in the bathroom. Yes you save the planet from single use plastic but you put way more soap product into the wastewater system without something simple like a washcloth. Towel police were not at this resort you need towels just ask but you need a card. Back to the restaurant, varied menus but ton of menu items out of stock. Ordering was kinda comical. The thinnest most expensive steak I ever had but it was tasty. Food was respectable I really wanted pork tomohawk out of stock. Drink service upstairs and downstairs was heinous is waiting 15 minutes for a refill normal service ? View from the upstairs bar great highly recommended…..but the wait…Ugg. They would have cleaned up had they drink waiter service at the pool but no. On the drink front and food front they do not rip you off too bad on prices I was surprised, on that front food and drink were of superior quality no rip off prices just limited availability. IE we had drank the downstairs bar out of grey goose by our second night. We upgraded from city to sea view they tried to pawn off the room across from the elevator on us…once we got new room it was fine. This one still baffles me….upon check in we were told we had to leave a 6000 peso room deposit. I said just put a hold on my credit card. And seeing we would end up spending probably twice that much in the restaurant no big deal I thought. But if you pay the deposit by cc you get your money back in two to three weeks . So remember to bring 6000 cash or you are personally giving the resort or the credit card a loan for two weeks TOTAL BULL POOP. The pools are great. The beach left something to be desired. No lifeguard at sea and unlike Kandaya no guys out there cleaning up garbage on the beach . My young son dug up a bottle cap and picked up some garbage in beach area when my eyes were elsewhere. The resort beach was like a public beach yuk. We expected better. With all the staff running around how hard is it to have someone responsible for policing the beach area of trash. And coming from the pool or beach with all the staff you think someone would be on mop up duty. I tracked pool water from the puddles in the elevators all over my floor numerous times. For the price point if they keep this resort to under 4000 pesos a night it is a nice place to visit. They need to work better on crowded days. Our first breakfast experience was waiting in line to give our room number only to be led into a resturant with no open tables. Pretty poor service first impression, but it got better. Bluewater was outrageously overcrowded on the weekend and Crimson overpriced for what you got,… so this place is in a sweet spot price wise. It is not four seasons it is not mandarin it does not even compare to Kandaya but that is three hours away. It does do a whole lot better than other similarly priced places just do not be expecting four or five stars. With the new bridge this place is now only 30-40 minutes away. It is much better than it’s competition but meh our family might come back when kiddie adventure park is finished

I'll start with the very first issue, which is the reservations. We called their reservation office and asked for a Premier Sea View. Jasmine (the name of the reservations officer) gave us a Premier Sea View room with a discounted rate because we are staying for two nights. She told me the confirmation will be sent in 30-45 mins. There was no confirmation letter, which sparked my concern already. We went to Solea Mactan and the front desk told us that the room that was given to us was the city view! I specifically told them what happened and we were all expecting two rooms with a sea view! They told us that Jasmine was a new employee but, for me, that is not an excuse. They also said they have tons of reservations, which again, is not an excuse. The front desk also told us that the manager will be coming over (I asked to speak to the manager) so we waited. FYI, I am tired and also 7mos pregnant. While waiting, the front desk said if we want to have the sea view, we should pay the upgrade fee. I told him "Why would I pay for an upgrade when sea view rooms were already confirmed to me". I waited for more than 30mins, almost an hour or more, and still no show from the manager. No one apologized, no one came so we ended up getting the city view -- which isn't a city view but the view of the residents nearby LOL. The rooms, the room was so-so. The shower area is broken, we had to improvise to keep the water running. The hand sanitizer in the room was smelly. The TV channels were terrible, either it doesn't have a sound or it was not clear. You have to request shampoo and soap and other things you need. The service is really bad. You have to phone more than once for them to do their job. The electricity at night also goes on and off. There are only two elevators, which are very slow and sometimes one of them is broken. We went to the beach, it was low tide, but it wasn't too appealing either. The photos you see aren't the same as what you see in reality. The food was okay but I wish for breakfast, the food warmer works. Some of the food was cold already. The toaster doesn't work either. Also, our pork chao fan rice had a mix of white rice under. The F&B staff was okay, especially in Salt. Too bad the rest of the hotel ruins their rep. I do not recommend this hotel. Yes, it has good deals but you won't enjoy your stay here. We spent the whole day in a different resort to relax and unwind. I also tried to book this coming weekend at Solea Panglao but canceled it as I had the same booking issue. Will send a review to that place. But to summarize, my booking should be around 7K but they sent me a link to pay 29K.

I have a great time celebrating my 50th birthday at Solea Palm Resort. I am touch how they prepare a birthday surprise for me. The room was clean and our view was great too! The staff at the restaurant had their birthday song with the band greeting me and mentioning my name. Thank you Solea for the unforgetable experience. We will definitely comeback.

Unfortunately our stay at Solea Mactan resort was very disappointing on many levels. The first is the obvious deception that the hotel intentionally run… we booked the Solea Mactan but we’re put in the Solea Palm next door - a lower standard hotel. When we challenged this we were told they didn’t use the rooms in the Mactan during weekdays. If on checking in, they take you down a gangplank to the second building, they are putting you in the Solea Palm not the Mactan. We got no assistance via front desk and eventually are challenging our booking through our credit card. On top of putting us in a different hotel, the garden view was over a dump site and service area, the aqua park obstacle course has not been running for two years, there is no beach dining or beach bar and the beach is about 1/3rd shown in their pictures. Owners/management clearly deceiving potential customers! Most of the staff are however fantastic, particularly Van in the Earth Restaurant, though we found the food quality not that great - certainly not the fine dining shown on the sales pitch! There are some fantastic pools though some were closed and if you want a pool hotel, I think it’s a good choice, except overpriced per the false sales. Refuse to be put in the Solea Palm if you book the Mactan!
