This hotel is at the bottom of the gap and on a busy corner - we stayed for 2 weeks at a very reasonable price however Our Room was dated but clean and functional, we were at the front of the hotel on the ground floor so right on the corner which was a bit noisy at night but as already mentioned paid an excellent price for our room by Barbados standards. The pool was nice but the sunbeds do need replacing but other than that it’s fine and nice and clean. The staff were all lovely and very helpful Cleaning ladies always gave us anything we asked for. Didn’t eat in the restaurant so unable to advise although always seemed busy Had a couple o nights in the bar which was fun and we were always made welcome which is important we feel. Drinks were very nice and reasonably priced. We would stay here again as we had a great time. 😊

Didn’t stay here but had breakfast in the “restaurant”. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast, and two portions of toast. Served quickly and food tasted good at a very decent price but served to us in plastic takeaway containers, no plates, no knifes, just a plastic fork, which we used to butter our toast! Would use again but as a takeaway!

They say you get what you pay for. Here I think you get slightly more. Located at the quieter end of the strip, 2 minutes from the beach, supermarket and a couple of bars, the Ocean 15 is clean, friendly and has all the amenities you'll need. Air con, safe, ironing board, internet, etc and a cheap breakfast to boot. The pool is small and we seemed to be the only ones who used it... Pronto's just up the road was good for good value food and drink. 4 Deputy's for B$10. 5 minutes walk to the nightlife 😁😁😁

This is a small family run hotel, staff are very friendly and helpful so it is hard to write my review. I think most of the reviews I read before staying are from people who only ate in the cafe or drank in the bar in the evening they are not actually staying at the hotel. Firstly the sun beds around the pool are nothing like those shown in any booking sites I looked at. There were 4 blue nylon covered beds and 2 white (1 was broken). The pool was small but ok for the amount of people who actually sat around it. The lounge was spacious but furniture was old and a bit grubby. The kitchenette was fully equipped but the fridge was scratched to bits, looked like it belonged in a skip. The bathroom was adequate and quite a powerful shower, but I had to clean 1 of the walls before using it. There was a shelf above the sink missing so had difficulty in putting toiletries around sink. Now to the bedroom, there was a 3 drawer chest and when you opened middle one the bottom drawer opened with it. The bed was very old and although comfortable the mattress had seen better days, the frill hung loose on the floor, the sheets didn’t fit and 1 change of sheets had blood on, which hadn’t washed out. The swim up bar was never open and I did not see or hear any karaoke on Friday or Sunday. There seemed to be a barbecue on both Saturday nights but for non residence? We did not see a menu or were not told about it. When we asked there was not enough for us. There were no menus on tables in the cafe or in the bar in the evening. We had breakfast 1 Morning and the pancakes were good, the bacon was undesirable. We had samosas for lunch 1 day, which were superb. I would not say the food or drink was a good price there were lots of bars down the gap, which were better value.

we have just returned from another great holiday in barbados.we stayed at the ocean11(eleven)apartments.this is situated at the quiet end of 'the gap' opposite the turtle beach hotel.we chose these apartments due to there excellent quiet location for a short walk to 'the gap' and after taking advice from TA barbados forum.for our past couple of visits we have stayed at a couple of the larger hotels on the south coast.as we felt we had got to know the area we decided that we were confident enough to try something a bit different. we had walked past the ocean11 a number of times and it stood out with its yellow walls and in the evening it would be lit up with brightly coloured lights.there was always a sound of laughter and people sounding as though they were having a good time.we never actually went in as we thought it would be hotel guests and maybe we would feel out of place.how wrong we were!!. ocean11 consists of eleven apartments, ranging from studios,1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments.we stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments.the apartments are basic ,clean and have air conditioning to the bedrooms and fan to living room area.the kitchen had a fridge freezer, microwave oven and gas cooker etc.the bedrooms consisted of one double bed and two singles which were all very comfortable.the shower room i believe is of an old bajan type which worked perfectly well and added to the character of the place.the apartments mainly look out over the pool area which is also clean and tidy .the bar area come restaraunt is at the far end of the pool.the two 3 bedrooms face away from the pool. we ate at the open air restauant 4 or 5 times while in barbados, but could easily have ate there every night .the food was superb and the prices good.the bar /restaurant is called olivers bar and i would recommend trying the food/bar even if you are not staying at ocean11.the food compares very well to a number of restaurants in 'the gap'etc. the hotel is a genuine family business, and there is alwas someone on site from 8-00am to 11-00 pm should you have anything you wish to ask.we were told before we arrived that this was a friendly place to say,and that is true.if you want people to talk to you will always find someone to chat to,but also if you just want to chill out then you are left alone.the bar staff are brilliant, really good at there jobs.you may also get free entertainment from BUSTER who seems to spend his time behind the bar serving drinks ,singing non stop, and watching football, generally all at the same time!!you also have julie and audrey and when they get together its a laugh a minute when they get going.you also get a few locals popping in for a drink as well as guests from surrounding hotels.it all makes for a happy atmosphere, without getting too loud and uncomfortable.the bar closes at 11-00pm so you dont get disturbed and generally apart from early evening the bar never gets overcrowded. as i said earlier the apartments are in a quiet area.it is about a 2 minute walk to grocery stores and about 15 minute walk to the ship inn area of 'the gap'.the bus routes are within a 10 minute walk and taxis are usually just outside apartments.the beach are about 2 minute walk down the side of turtle beach hotel ,through a short alleyway which leads to turtle beach these apartments are ideal if you are looking for a base to explore barbados.they are clean and basic with a very good selection of food.you will certainly make friends if you should wish..while we were there you had british ,american and canadian visitors.if you are looking for west coast luxury,or even 4star south coast then forget it.this was definately our best holiday in barbados,we hope to be staying at ocean11 again and hopefully meet up with some old and new friends once again

We have just returned from a week at Ocean 11. Even though the location is not ( but very close to) the beach, we found the rooms to be comfortable and the staff very accomodating.
They have a nice pool with a swim-up bar, and during happy hour the place was a blast.
Personally - I would stay there again.
Good job Lee & Lorraine, and hopefully see you soon.

My cousin and I planned a quick getaway for my birthday and I must say I was very pleased with the atmosphere at the hotel. Pretty basic furnishings, but EXTREMELY clean and the staff were absolutely wonderful (Colvin, Paul and Andrea). Very nice room with a view of everything. The food was great and so was the service. WIFI was great as well. Easy to get around to everything, beach and the night club and close to the airport. Just be on the look out for a LEECH by the name of Victor, he will invite you to the bar for drinks then tell the bartender he's not paying for the drinks and will be charging it to your room. I highly recommend that he is banned from sitting around at the bar to talk to guests and invite them out of their room for drinks and don't pay. Overall my stay at Ocean 15 was awesome!

Stayed at Ocean 15 during the last week of August. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a walkout to the pool deck. Ocean 15 is abut a 10 minute drive from the airport, and is located at the quiet end of The Gap.
Check In: as this is a small hotel, check in was fast and we were in our room within a few minutes of entering the office. Our room was ice cold upon entry, no doubt due to the combination of there being two a/c units in the suite....one in the bedroom and one in the living room. More to the point, was that the a/c was on before we arrived, and that was a very welcome feature. There was not a whiff of that ubiquitous musty tropical odour one can be faced with upon entering a closed up room. Also there were no suspicious 'fabreeze' odour masking fragrances.
Layout of suite: good sized living room with a pullout couch. Large flat screen TV mounted on the wall. Table and two chairs provided as well as a couple of padded chairs. Kitchen around the corner from the living room. Four burner gas stove, smallish fridge, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, plus dishes and cutlery. When asked, the hotel provided a butter dish, salt and pepper shakers plus a sharp knife for cutting fruit. Dish soap, cloth and drying towels were supplied. Each room had a walk out balcony area and included a couple of chairs and a table. Our chairs were padded and quite comfortable. Bathroom was small, but clean. There is only a small dresser in which to put your clothes.
Hotel Amenities: Luxurious is not how this hotel could be described, however, the basic amenities are there, and some additional features not available elsewhere. For instance, Ocean 15 has a coffee bar that makes yummy cappuccino, espresso, plus regular coffees. The restaurant is basic in decor, but what it lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in food quality and pricing. The pool is appropriate in size for the hotel, and it included a swim up bar. I thought the bed was very comfortable. Furniture was of good quality and definitely was not worn out or shabby in any way.
Food: There were nightly chef's specials, including Thursday night roti ($10 BDS) and Saturday night souse 'n puddin ($15BDS). Very yummy and great value. Daily catch of the day, mac pie plus small green salad ($25 BDS). Daily breakfast was $20BDS, and it ranged from french toast, eggs, pancakes, sausages and a beverage.
Entertainment: Karaoke twice weekly. Jazz on Thursday nights. Being in a one bedroom there is an additional wall separating us from the amplified sounds of Karaoke 'singing', but even in the living room, the music while loud, was completely reasonable. Those who complained in earlier reviews about the noise bothering them would be light sleepers in my opinion.
Cleanliness: Our room was spotless upon entry and the housekeeping staff visited daily. Not once did I spot a bug or creepy crawly that one often sees in rooms in the tropics. The pool deck was pressure washed daily, which helped keep the sand out of the rooms.
WiFi: The signal was not very strong in our room, and a bit better on our patio. The best signal was in the restaurant or by the coffee bar. Signal was strong enough that I was able to FaceTime with our daughter back in Canada.
Pool towels provided.
Money can be exchanged at front desk, however if there was one small negative, it would be the exchange rate offered of $1.80 BDS for $1.00 CAN
The neighbourhood: less than a five minute walk to Dover Beach. One passes Scotty's, the Sapphire condos and Time Out Hotel en route to Dover Beach. Dover Market convenience store just a minute away. Directly across from the main entrance of the hotel is Turtle Beach Resort and down the street from Almond Casuarina.
Tips: when going back (and I am already booked for March 2013) I will not bother buying breakfast supplies. At $20 BDs for a full breakfast, and not having to take a taxi to Supercentre, and for the convenience of not washing dishes, I'll be doing most of my eating at the hotel or buying from the area's food stalls. FYI, not once did I have a dodgy traveller's tummy, in spite of eating a great deal of 'street food'.
Happy Hour: several beer bucket specials, ie 6 Caribe for $16 BDS, but my favourite was their rum punch special at 2 for $7 BDS. They were grrrrreat!
Speaking of rum punch, go to the Dover Market convenience store at the beginning of your trip and buy a 2 Litre bottle of their home made rum punch for about $39 BDS. Good and potent. Also suggest you buy your holiday liquor at the duty free before leaving BGI. Less costly than at the stores by far.
Dover Beach: quite a few food huts. Hard to spend more than $15 BDS for complete meal. Loved the fish cakes (6 for $5 BDS) at Kay's hut. Going rate for beer was mostly 4 for $10 BDS (Banks or Stag). You don't need to take all four beer at once which was nice. Jut go back whenever you need another cold one. There was one outlet that had 5 Banks for $10 BDS. Beach loungers and an umbrella were $15/day or $75 BDS for 7 days. I rented from George Water Sports, but I thought his umbrellas were very small. I might try one of the other vendors next time there.
The Gap: you'd need blinkers not to notice the closed up or abandoned apartments. The same beggars and drunks are still there, but don't pester you. We did get 'stung' by the aloe vera guy. He rubbed the plants over our legs and filled a rum flask with aloe vera. I knew it would cost something, but was shocked at him asking $50 BDS. Scotty's wasn't as good as I remember last April. Never had mahi mahi, and in fact one night the fish was really gross looking. Go up to the west end of the gap for good street food after dark. Drugs are available, but after saying no the first time, I was never asked again. I would concur that it is too dark at night around Divi.
Fresh fruit: there were a couple of vendors set up by the road at or near Dover Beach. Yummy bananas and limes. Akees, which I had never had before were a nice snack.
Overall: very pleasant stay at Ocean 15. Good value, clean, friendly staff, good location. Looking forward to my return in March.

I've Just returned from 8 nights at Ocean 11 and can't recommend the place more highly! I'm a regular return visitor to Barbados and wish I had discovered this place sooner. Great location - (the quiet end of the gap - near enough to walk to restuarants/bars without the noise). The Pool and swim up bar are great and the bar staff and hotel owners make you totally relaxed. Food is also great and good value. Can't wait to go back!!

I'm a local and I was looking to try out my first staycation here on the island as opposed to traveling. I saw Ocean 15 and decided to go have a viewing of the rooms which was allowed and immediately fell in love. All of the staff I met were very warm and friendly and everyday the housekeeper would visit to clean or ask me if I needed anything. The room had all I needed, nice furniture and very clean with towels changed regularly as well as extra soap provided when needed.
It's located a ways from the main heart of the gap but the walk does not seem long as there is much to take in and stores/restaurants to go into. You could literally try a new place each night if you were up for it and most places provided entertainment. The food at Ocean 15 was good, again, friendly bartenders who made you feel comfortable. I have recommended and would go again.

Hi
It's quite a small property, so think you might struggle to get a room far away. I had an early night with a pair of earplugs and it was ok. It finishes at midnight though so at least it doesn't go on late into the night. Property is Lovely really chilled and food at bar is excellent. I liked the fact that it was a bit of a stroll from the gap so we weren't on top of everything. Don't think the karaoke is every night so that might be worth checking !
