The first thing you need to know before booking this property is that it is NOT in St Lawrence Gap BUT is in St Philips, which is over 10 miles from St Lawrence as the crow flies. St Philips is a 10 minute drive north east of the airport and so if you are looking for a stopover between flights or want to be handy for the airport for business, it is ideally situated. However, if you are looking for the beaches on the west coast at Oistins, the bus ride is 25 minutes and 40 minutes to St Lawrence Gap. However you will need to factor in a wait time for a bus which in the morning and evening can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 90 minutes - mainly because the buses are running jam packed full and you have to wait for one with space. We were spending over 2 hours per day getting to and from the beach. If you are going to hire a car then this becomes less of an issue, but do not expect sea views. The apartment itself is in a residential area in the country so you get to meet the real Bajans and sample beers at $1 us a bottle. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped and comfortable and is handy for local shop and bar and bus stops. The manager/owner was extremely friendly and helpful and overall we had a very enjoyable holiday and met lots of lovely Bajans on the bus!…

I have just returned from just a little over 2 weeks in Barbados, staying at the Terrace Apartments, St.Philips. This was a self contained apartment with full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with shower. WIFI was excellent. The apartment also had a washing washing, which was handy! Basically everything you need for a comfortable stay! The owner, Vincent, was so helpful and friendly. He left us with a mobile phone so we could contact him if needed. Nothing was too much for him, great host! There is a garage sort of across the road which sells what you might expect, drinks, bread etc but they also do a breakfast lunch and dinner menu....take away. There is a local bar, which is nice enough and friendly, and they have karaoke in there a few times a week and also serve food. There is also a bus stop outside the garage which takes you to Oistins, Bridgetown etc for bds $2, last bus I believe was about midnight. We hired a moped for the 2 weeks @ bds $1200.00 for 2 weeks, which made the days easier to explore th island. On a Thursday there is a local street party which is only 10 mins away from the apartments, which was also a good night out. So in all a great stay, but the apartment is out of the main strips and in a quiet neighbourhood but access is very easy :)…

The location of the apartment I booked on this site was on the Atlantic side of the island, north and east of the BGI airport (about $15 USD cab ride). It was quoted to be $60 US from the cruise terminal, and most of the taxi drivers had no idea of where it is even with the address from TA. It is nice that it is located away from the tourist areas, so you can gain a feel for living in Barbados as opposed to being a guest of a large hotel. One can walk about two blocks to take away grilled fish, chicken or ribs; a neighborhood bar, and a gas station with food market to stock your kitchen or prepared meals to carry out. The bus stops there too. Vincent is a great guy that ensures your needs are covered, and has dealt with enough people to know what you might need. The apartments are A - D, just 4 of them to help you ensure you are reading reviews for this place and not somewhere else. Good TV choices, a fully equipped kitchen if you want, A/C in the bedrooms, Atlantic breezes during the days, clean floors and kitchen, nice furnishings, and all you need for a home away. I walked a mile each way to Foursquare Distillery and took the self guided tour, the bus to Sam Lords Castle and walked around the remains of the once posh hotel and grounds, and another day to Crane Beach. Be patient when you wait for the bus, you never know if it is a few minutes or an hour (find some shade with a view of the road). There is off street parking if you rent a car or scooter/cycle.…

This is a 2 bedroom apartment, plenty of space, beautifully appointed, modern kitchen with lots of extras. Having said that I didn't rent the space to stay indoors all day long, but it's nice to come home to a security building and know you're safe and sound. St. Lawrence Gap is a very safe place to stay, as is most of Barbados, the apartment is located right next door to the Dover Market, which is extremely handy, this end of the Gap is a little quieter at but there is still music all night long...if you like the sites and sound of the area its very relaxing to sit on the patio and listen to the music and the people... if you don't like it, close the patio doors and you'll not hear anything. All the rooms are air conditioned, wonderfully cool after a long hot day on the beach. The owners Nora and Alain, were wonderful as was the property management firm they use, Katherine was very helpful...and we knew she was always on call should we need her.. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay in Barbados, can't wait to get back... Faith M…

I want to provide a very critical review on this hotel/apartment experience, since it has various angles of observation. Vincent is the host and he is all hospitality, top notch in service and friendliness. Picks you up form the airport and offers all the help you need. The apartment is almost new, wonderful, spacious, clean, 2 bedrooms etc. All great points and this is where it should get a 5. However, the location is not all that good, except when you travel for business, need a solid stay close to the airport. There is no central A/C in the building, but provided via a room unit which can be noisy. These facts bring the score down a notch....

We just left Barbados after just over a week stay in the Saint Lawrence gap. Much to our surprise, we found out over 5 thousand dollars was fraudulently taken from our bank account once we came home. Do not use outdoor atm machines!!!!!! Make sure you use actual banks. We stayed in apt 202...it was perfect for our family of 6 people. Very spacious. The ATM was an RBC directly beside us. Be careful!

Stayed in Apt 202 for a month. Loved it! If you want to stay in a great apartment (2/3 bedroom) with modern appliances and all the comforts of home, AND you want to be a bit removed from the touristy sections of The Gap and interact more with the Locals, then this is for you. You may even be lucky enough to get a visit from the local monkey family! Scotty's and The Gap Bar are just across the street and while they do play music and have karaoke on Friday nights, they are not disturbing. Rather they provide more of a sense of Bajan neighbourhood. I would return here in a heart beat. I checked out just about every rental between the Gap and Hastings and there might be one I would consider over this place! The owner and the management team on the island were great to deal with.

Aside from staying with family, The Terraces is the ONLY location I'd stay. Facility and WELL managed, clean, affordable and right in the Gap. Love it. We stay here EVERY year and will until we purchase property. LOVE IT!

We stayed at the Terraces in February and had a great time. It's location is ideal and close to everything. Dover beach is a 5min walk, grocery store is right next to the Terraces, there is a great little place across the street to grab a bite (Scotty's) The heart of the Gap is about a 10 min walk where many restaurants are located along with night clubs, best place in my opinion is Cafe Sol, great food and reasonable prices. Getting around Barbados is easy, you can of course use a taxi but to get local feel take local transportation. It's a local experience! The beaches are great we went to Miami, Dover and Browne's, all were great in their own way. Now I'm not a person to complain but I believe this needs to be mentioned. The reason my overall review is at 3 is because of a huge issue with the Gap bar across the street. This bar is a real headache, this bar is open 24hrs a day HONESTLY! This bar has a band/DJ that starts at 10-10:30pm and goes till 1 or 2am every night. After this they play music till 6am. We spoke to the property management company that looks after the building and they mentioned that this is an ongoing issue and there is a lawsuit against the bar from the condominium association. So basically the fight is on, the bar doesn't care and crank the music till the wee hours of the morning. We got to a point where we needed ear plugs. It was a very frustrating ordeal. Until this issue is resolved this we be an issue day in day out. That being said if you can sleep through loud music you won't be disappointed! If this wasn't an issue i wouldn't hesitate to give it a 5 out of 5. …
