The hotel has a very center location in Kalibo. 1 minute away is a McDonald's. I live in Boracay and usually I stay here on my visits in Kalibo. The staff is very friendly. I had some issues with my car so they allowed me to par it on their parking lot on the backside even though there wasn't enough space for them anymore to do their loundry. My visite was at the Ati-ati Han festival (similar to a carnival) so the parking lots were very limited at that time.

The hotel is located approximately 3 kilometers from the Kalibo airport, but in the Kalibo town core. There is a shopping center with a large grocery story within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. This mall is for the locals, so the prices are considerably lower here than other places where tourists seem to frequent.

Since we had the first flight out Kalibo to Manila with CebuPacific, we decided to stay the night in Kalibo as opposed to traveling REALLY early in the morning from Boracay. This allowed us to travel in the evening the night before our flight and spend a couple of hours exploring Kalibo. The hotel options in Kalibo are limited as not many foreign tourist stay here, unless they need to. Having said that, the Kalibo Inn (formerly called Beachcomber Inn) was a good option for this purpose.

We booked a room over the phone and were worried about what to expect from the hotel since we were not able to find any information on the internet about the hotel. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by what we got for what we paid. The rooms were large and appeared to be freshly painted. The furniture and decor were older, but still functional. The room had a double bed, A/C, TV, coat hanger, hot water and free wireless internet. The bathroom was also fairly spacious and had nice tiles. They also provided Sunsilk brand one-time use shampoo and soap. For the price they were charging, it was more than enough for the night.

On the negative side, the hotel and room had many mosquitoes, so spraying ourselves with mosquito repellant was a must before going to bed.

I usually dread having to travel through Kalibo to take a flight back to Manila. But on my last trip to Boracay, I figured I might as well participate in the ultimate Pinoy mardi gras, the Ati-Atihan. When I found out that this place used to be named Beachcomber, as in just like the legendary first bar of Boracay, I got curious. True enough, this place is the Kalibo home of the man who built the iconic Beachcomber bar. That alone was enough reason for me to stay here.

Location, location, location...................

a. 2 blocks off the highway-----means it is not difficult to find and is far enough to be immune from the noise of hundreds of tricycles that plow the main road

b. 5 minute walk to the mall and fresh market, where you can get some of the finest pinoy chori and longganizas, and inexpensive fresh fruit. Local handicraft stores are plentiful too-----means shopping is easy and fun

c. 2 minute walk to a resto that had some of the best liempo ever (La Nena's, I think that's what it was called)................means, if you get the munchies, this is the place to go

d. 4 minute walk to all the Ati-atihan action!---------means, party on and on and on!

e. and once you do have to skidaddle off to the airport, just go to the corner and hail down a trike, easy peasy

now the room: I had room #4

a. big comfortable bed and sheets

b. hot shower with strong water pressure, and complete array of toiletries, though I personally have no need for shampoo.....I'm bald

c. really cold airconditioner........this is very important to me.......loved it

d. cable tv which included NBA TV, so I was able to check in on my beloved Lakers

e. strong wifi in the room

f. prompt wake up call

g. spotless and mosquito free

staff:

a. very nice, courteous, friendly and always smiling.......so truly pinoy ;-)

b. the guard even got me a trike at 4:45am to take me to the airport

Overall, this was a surprisingly pleasant stay in Kalibo.......I mean that I expected Ati-atihan would be fun, and yes it was......but this hotel makes me look forward to going back to Kalibo again.........need I say more? Oh yeah, excellent value too! I should not forget to mention that.

We are a group of 14 pax. We booked 6 rooms. Although its only a night stay before our trip to Boracay, Its better than the Boracay Regency that we booked. The lady in charge, Ms Myrna was a polite and patient lady. Thank you Myrna for your hospitality. Hope we did not make too much noise. Rooms were clean. Macdonalds was just around the corner. We had supper and breakfast there. It was opened 24hrs.

I arrived at 2pm my room was better than I expected but had no window, but was nicely turned out and was clean and presentable. The problem was the shower, too cold and not much power!
There was no food or hot drinks available., would have loved a good coffee!!
No where around to eat other than a Mac Donalds-- oh well !!
Free transport to airport was good. Overall was good, I would stay again as good value for money.

We booked online, 1500 pesos room with tv and aircon. Took a trike from the airport (100 pesos) for two people before dark is the normal price. We arrived and the whole town was on blackout with no electricity unless they had a generator. Hotel Kalibo's generator did not work as we were told. The owner graciously found us another hotel to stay in. So for their being helpful, I would give them another opportunity. We moved to the other hotel and I will do a review there. They did reply to emails and phone calls quickly.

I'm glad I chose Kalibo Hotel. The hotel provided us with the basic necessities and the beds needed to sleep 3 comfortably. I was not too crazy about the comforter design but you don't need it anyway when sleeping as it's too humid. The airconditioner worked really well - thank goodness! Since I came at the time when it's terribly hot and humid the water that came out the shower was cold only. I didn't mind. Anyway, the cold water wakes me up.

The staff is wonderful! They are very friendly and accommodating. They helped me find transportation to Boracay and also helped flag down a tricycle to go to where I was going. The only thing I wish they had was food in the cafeteria (i.e., sweets, hopia, lumpia, fresh bananas, etc.). I woke up in the morning and headed to the lobby but no one was there nor did I know where to get food. Luckily I was invited for breakfast by a family member.

Overall, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I love the staff and most especially the comfortable room.
