siquijor is really an enchanted place for my friends and i. we braved to cross from dumaguete to siquijor regardless of all the talks on witchcraft and sorcery but we are also enticed on the beaches that we saw online. we stayed at salagdoong because it was the most talked-about place. going to the resort was really enticing but we were kind of disappointed with the beach. short short line. rocky beach, literally. it's not as fine as how it looked in the pictures. but the people in this hotel really accommodated us. the restaurant served limited food though. my friends and i stayed up all night and the place was really safe and quiet. it's far from the town proper. it's worth the visit but i think we will try another resort when we get back. we are really after the beaches and the resort's beach is not really what we expected.

The resort looks spectacular in pictures! The view in different angles are panoramic.

But once you step inside, you'll see the real picture. The resort is crumbling - facilities are old and rundown, peeling paint, the cottages are falling apart. Cleanliness is also below par.

The location though has promise. If they could only improve the facilities, upgrade the beachfront and diving sites, implement rules for guests, add water activities. Maybe then more tourists will come.

New and better management wanted!

Very unimpressed with this hotel - yes it is cheap, but there's a reason for that. Our room was not clean at all, my bedsheets had stains on them and when I went to make the bed in the morning I found jewelry in the bed that definitely did not belong to me!

Unfortunately when I visited there was a typhoon so it was raining very heavily which meant we didn't get to enjoy Salagdoong beach - as the hotel had no wifi this meant a very boring day doing not much at all. Not much in the way of things to do besides the beach.

Our room had a horrendous leak in the ceiling - woke up after a night of rain to find the floor next to my bed soaking wet. The hotel gave us another room which was also not clean - bedsheets stained and red ants everywhere.

The hotel has a restaurant attached to it but the food was very cheap and very average.

They have a poor monkey chained up by the beach who clearly never gets let out - his cage is filthy, droppings everywhere with a rusted lock - I don't understand why they have to have this animal there!!

I wouldn't recommend this hotel - for a similar price in Siquijor you can get much nicer resorts to stay in!

Recently visited Salagdoong Beach and was shocked how disgusting this resort has become. (1) The toilets near the beach were closed and we were directed to toilets at the other end. The floors were flooded, toilets didn't flush, broken cistern's, no toilet paper. (2) No water in the swimming pool. (3) The restaurant is terrible, unhelpful staff, cold food, dirty tables, with cats and dogs everywhere - even on the tables eating the leftover foods. The heath inspectors need to get involved with this resort.

First of all, I like their beach. You can really see the crystal clear blue water. Plus it is white sand. The cliff jumping was AMAZING!! They have good rooms though BUT! BUT! BUT! We can never tolerate and consider the ARROGANT, UNEDUCATED AND SNOB STAFF!! Is this how they are trained to treat costumers? To snob them. And then we felt like we were not welcomed in the restaurant. Its so rude. We FELT VERY VERY PISSED OFF with their behavior. I mean, IN BUSINESS IT IS ALWAYS COSTUMERS PRIORITY! You should be friendly to your costumers, hospitable and very informative. We have to go to the counter for us to be entertained. And when we are in the counter, it would take time for them to entertain us. PLEASE SALAGDOONG SEMINAR YOUR STAFF!! TRAIN THEM BECAUSE THIS WILL BRING YOUR RESORT DOWN! Also, please fix your slides and cliff jumping. Because the cliff smells like urine. Also, put some cabinets in your hotel. We consumed the beds space of our clothes. We don't even know where we will sleep with all the clothes hanging on our bed. PLUS! UPDATE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR WEBSITE!! We had a hars time calling you. But so far, we enjoyed our stay in your place. It's just your DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGANT STAFF THAT YOU NEED TO TRAIN. And your expensive food. Like 25 pesos for a water bottle? 78 for a C2?! Please give some reasonable price. Anyways, we are still looking forward to go back. Hoping that all these will change.

although the place is 'fairly' nice. i bet you can still find a lot better beaches around the island. the staff hideously unkind. the sunset was beautiful though. not necessarily a place i could recommend highly.

The placr itself is ok. The beach is great! However, their service crew is the worst!!!!! No other customers were there when we asked for assistance but noboday assisted us even though they were just there. At first, I asked assistance for the souvenir items, one of the ladies answered but she was unwilling to assist and she moved on with what she's doing. Next is, my friend ordered food, but none of the food she's trying to order were available. Again, thr lady assisted us with a very unfriendly gestrure and tone of voice. This is the second time to visit this place. The first time were here, it was awesome! But now...hmmm... Probably we will not come back here again.

we arrive at the place at past 1 pm. we hurriedly set up our stuff, we still have to grill our foods. upon noticing that out kitchen wares had been left out, we ask the nearby food place if we can borrow a thongs, knife and so utensils, but it seems that the man, in there, said to be their cook was to arrogant to even look at us. even when we decided not to borrow anymore but just buy soft-drinks, he still didn't budge. such an arrogant man very much lacking customer service. it ruins the place to have such a man working in a customer intensive industry. i wouldn't recommend this place, you will just loose the fun.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here and booked 2 nights. The resort was busy in the day with plenty of other people around. However, at about 6pm, it was deserted which felt really strange and eerie . We didn't realise that everyone was a daytripper and hardly anyone stayed there. The room itself was basic - we had to flush the toilet with buckets of water! But it was clean and had decent a/c and shower. The pool was closed for cleaning the whole time we were there but being right on the beach, it didn't matter. There was a restaurant where we had our meals, however, at about 7pm, the staff there seemed annoyed that they had to do anything. We felt like we were inconveniencing them by ordering food and they looked keen to close the restaurant and go home - even though it was meant to be open until 11pm. The food, however, was good. We were very annoyed though as the 'hotel rules' stated that there should be no noise between 10pm and 8am... at 5am on our last day we were woken by people making noise... and at 6am there was some sort of religious convention on the beach right next to our room. They were using a microphone and cheering... it was ridiculous. We also booked a taxi which came nearly 3 hours early as the reception staff messed up our request. My boyfriend complained straight away to reception and they said we could get a refund. However, when we checked out, they said that we couldn't have a refund as all of their money had been sent away to the bank, which was infuriating.
HOWEVER... The location and beach itself is stunning though... beautiful and secluded. The snorkelling is fantastic. It is well worth a day trip... although I wouldn't recommend staying there for the night!!!

In resonse to Mr. Joseph B's reply... Good for him that he didn't get the same treatment we got from the Salagdoong Staff. First of all, we are friendly people. During our first visit to this place 2 years ago, again, the staff was great. 2 years ago, the staff was awesome! Friendly! Attentive to all our needs. That was two years ago! But now, just few weeks ago, we were surprised with the way we were treated. #1 I politely asked about the souvenir items because we wanted to buy a certain bag. The lady there just stared at me for a few sec and she went back to whatever they were doing. We can understand Bisaya and she totally ignored me. Being considerate that she's busy, I looked at the other staff there and nobody helped me. No one assisted me. Since no one assisted me, I gave up. I sat down and my friend just decided to order. #2 Desite the previous cold treatment to us, we continued being nice and politely asked for the menu. The lady wasn't smiling. I don't ask her to smile but at least she can give us the menu nicely, like how they are suppose to. My friend asked for the food on the menu and everything she asked for were not available. Later on, the lady who looked grumpy asked another person to assist us. At least the lady who took over assisted us and she was nicer than the previous one. We understand how customer service works because that's our bread and butter, and totally, without being subjective, I can say that were not justly treated as guests. Again, 2 years ago were extremely satisfied in this place, that's why we came back. But now, hmmm... We will never go there again. Their service deteriorated. Even the facade is not as nice as before. I hope they will improve.
