Check-in was smooth. Staff were good. Called me on my mobile to let me know my car lights were left on. Grounds- Not maintained, run down, stains. Room- The minute we entered, we prayed. That says something. Sheets old, pillows old and stained - although they had covers, we used our clothes and towels to cover the pillows for peace of mind. Remote controls felt sticky and there was a slight stench of urine close to wear I slept. WiFi was very slow. Ended up using out hot spots. Shower water pressure was good. Only stay here if you're desperate. We made a mistake and thought Cataferry was leaving from Tanjung Gemok. Best to check your schedule. Would be nice if the hotel has this information too.

The hotel is very basic. Typically for the local - local. It's not ready for international market per say. Need to look in to aspect of up-keeping and modification. Heard from ground level that the Manager is from Ritz-Carlton. If it is so then bring in the 1st class service...

This hotel is the best of a bad bunch I think. We arrived late - I chose this hotel as was told we could leave our car here for free. Upon arrival I was told there would be a charge but after showing the confirmation email they did not push for a charge (confirm this in advance if you go). The room was basic and decor dated. The toilet was leaking when flushed and I would say this hotel needs updating - however if they have many guests like us who spent less than 7 hours in the hotel I can understand why commercially they don't bother. If I was using this ferry terminal again I wouldn't stay here and would arrive in the morning to go straight for the ferry and would leave my car in the ferry terminal car park. Check what time you're leaving for your ferry - as we left so early we couldn't get breakfast. And if you're going on the ferries try and take smaller bags/backpacks - lugging a big suitcase for the 5 min journey on a non-road was not pleasant.

This the great Hotel Seri Malaysia in Malaysia. Happy with the staff greeting. They welcomed us with smile and open heart. Fast check-in and provide the welcome drink. The room really clean, big & complete. Astro channel TV and wifi provided. But they suppose put the blind curtain. The b'fast really awesome and variety not like other Seri Malaysia hotel. Overall the hotel really great and clean.

It’s a Malaysian 2 star hotel, and not expensive, so even with expectations set low, I was still disappointed. The greeting at reception was friendly & registration was quick. The basic facilities are fine, the room a decent size, furniture quality fine & in good condition, efficient split aircon, flatscreen TV with plenty of channels. BUT.... The housekeeping was shocking. The wash hand basin had a patina of grime, both in the bowl and on the tiled surround. The same grubby smearing was on every light switch in the room. The toilet bowl had a similar murky tide mark. When I explained the situation to the young lady at reception, she was most apologetic. Two housekeepers were immediately dispatched to the room and it was given a reasonably thorough scrubbing. Both were very apologetic as they left. End result - we stayed. Would we stay again? If they are able to fix the basics, quite probably, as there aren’t many other options in town, close to the Tioman ferry.

No choice really. Planned for a trip to Tioman ,have to stay in this Hotel for one night. Well ,I expected ...really that this Hotel will not be good. But ,just to be fair...for one night stay before Tioman the next day ...its ok. The breakfast was ok. The bed was ok...chose the family room and with that price it is ...ok. That is why I say it is just ...OK

Stay on June, overall is just so so, the Middle Ages lady at breakfast was really friendly we spoke in about 30 minutes. Will come again. Booking was made last minutes, we call the service centre and they advised us to walk in.

We stayed one night, to take ferry next day to Tioman. Location is good. Bus-stop from/to Kuala Lumpur is right outside hotel. To the jetty it is about 10 minutes slow walking. Around jetty, there are also some eateries. Overall impression: neglected. Room: spacious. No safe, no fridge. Linen looked dirty and stained. However, the room itself looked clean, there was coffee/tea making facility as well as a complimentary mineral water, the A/C worked fine, a seating area was provided, Bathroom: Needed cleaning. Pubic hair on toilet seat. No complimentary toiletries. Towels were stained and had a grayish hue. Breakfast: acceptable (some Asian food (no cards with name or ingredients), baked beans, toast, jam). Staff: very friendly, check-in smooth, wifi working. Pool: Did not try it, did not look very inviting. With some cleaning up, this could be a much more attractive hotel. Still, for the 30 Euro we paid, it was fine. Would I stay there again? Maybe, since I didn't see anything better.

When you travel a bit, you’ll occasionally find a place to stay that is truly memorable – for either good or bad reasons. The Hotel Seri Malaysia was one of those places – but for all the wrong reasons. If you have a look at our reviews, you’ll see that we’re pretty equitable – so when we say that this place is a DUMP you’ll understand that it must be pretty rough. And it is. Forget the photos on the website – this place is old, tired and almost unbelievably dirty. We walked into the room given to us, saw the literally years of grime and filth on the furnishings, the dirty bathroom and turned straight back around. Fortunately there’s a new alternative in town – the Hotel Jeti – check out our review on that one and give the Seri Malaysia a huge miss!
