We stayed here for 5 nights. Our stay was very comfortable. Located only metres from the waters edge where you can enjoy fantastic snorkeling with turtles and sardines (no tour required) Our airconditioned room booked through agoda didnt actuall include airconditioning, that was an extra 300 pesos a day, very steep price so opted not to use. The included breakfast was great. Wifi was hit and miss in the room but worked okay in the restaurant, although not fast. The restaurant menu has lots of tasty and well priced options. The hotel organised a transfer between Cebu airport for 2800 pesos.

I stayed a week at Blue Abyss. It's located on the quieter side of Panagsama beach, which means you don't have to contend with loud partying late at night, and it's just a few metres from the sea. It has a green space in the middle of the accommodation blocks. The restaurant serves consistently good meals, which is a definite plus if, like me, you have quite a lot of rain during your stay and don't want to walk to another place to eat! My stay included breakfast which was absolutely worth having. Most mornings I had either omelet or scrambled eggs with toast, tea and juice. The room itself has everything you need, including a safe for valuables, although it seemed a very secure place in general. All the staff were lovely and they take very good care of the resort.

Fair price for a clean room right next to the ocean. Please note that in the AC room you have to pay for the AC. We were never uncomfortably hot without it, the ceiling fan worked well. The staff helped us plan out which methods of transportation to take to get to our next destination, which we really appreciated. This was the second time staying here for one of us. The nightly drinking lottery is a blast as well. Highly recommended!

From the moment we stepped into the Blue Abyss dive centre, we had such a great experience. My husband and I booked 2 dives and were so impressed we decided to do another 2 dives the following day. Our dive instructor, John Junior and all the men on board were so helpful and kind. It had been a while since my last dive and John and the guys were so patient and reassuring. We got to see the amazing sardine run on our first day, followed by a spectacular turtle dive where we saw at least 10 turtles. Will definitely return!

We stayed in Moalboal for 5 days. We tried to eat at a different restaurant each day for lunch and dinner. The dinner we had at the Blue Abyss Restaurant was the worst by far all week. It seemed pretty busy the night we went, which seemed like a good sign. If people go there, its got to be good, right? However, clearly the staff were overwhelmed, but didn't care to even try to do a good job. Someone who appeared to be an owner or manager was having a large gathering (maybe 10 friends or family members at a table). The waitresses were so consumed by this man's table, they essentially ignored all other customers. After placing our order, it took almost 90 minutes to get our food, which turned out to be awful. The french fries were cooked in what tasted like really old oil. It was disgusting. My husband's friend chicken was burned-and the "meal" literally consisted of one miniature chicken wing. There was a happy hour special for half the price-which consisted of 4 wings-yet the meal was only one tiny wing? It was supposed to come with a salad. The salad was three thin tomato slices. But not a regular sized tomato-a mini one. Almost the size of a cherry tomato. We couldn't even get the attention of our waitress to ask if it was a mistake. We would have ordered more drinks while we waited....but after our initial order, (during the entire 90 minutes we waited for food) the waitress never came back to offer more drinks, and we could NOT get her attention to come back to the table. In the end while paying, we expressed our disappointment with the service, and the waitress just shrugged and said, "Well, we can't please everyone." She didn't even feign an apology. Every other meal we had in Moalboal was fantastic. I highly recommend the restaurants next door at Quo Vadis, Maya's, Maracosa's or Tipolo. But do not waste your time at the Blue Abyss.

First and foremost you need to carefully check your bill when it comes time to pay. The gals behind the bar will scribble some numbers on a slip of paper and try to blow it by you. On our first three visits here the charges were considerably higher than they should have been. By the forth visit they’d recognized that I wasn’t to be ripped off and everything was fine thereafter.
The wait staff here are excellent - fast and efficient. Try the chili, garlic shrimp and/or the eggplant and coconut sauce. They’re both very good. Cocktails here are a little shaky. Best to stop by Lantaw for before dinner drinks.

I paid 755 PHP for tiny, over-cooked shrip, burnt pork belly, a coke and one San Miguel Light beer. We arrived at 7:45pm on a Thursday night. The restaurant was out of cold water and chicken. How does that happen on "Grill Night"? The service is slow but steady. The portions are laughably small. 10 tiny shrimp on 2 Baboo skewers that where so chewy I thought I was eating bubble gum. The burnt pork belly was pretty much the same. When did pork belly have bones?
Soup was tasty but about 1/3 cup. Thr salad was 4 thin slices of cucumber, 2 slices of tomato and a tablespoon of lettuce with balsamic vinegar. I had a lunch and dinner previously in the week which was at least acceptable. One saving Grace is happy hour is from 5-7pm. Buy 2 get 1 free.

We chose IDIC Open Water Course, supervised by Jun. It was definitely very interesting, we learned many good skills theoretically like Diving Equipment, Diving Physics and Diving Medicine and practically 6 dives. Jun was very helpful, caring and patient with 20 years experience. We were glad he was our tutor. The dive center has very good layout, clean and everyone is professional. The last 2 dives we got the chance to do fun diving with other divers by boat. Would highly recommend Blue Abyss and Jun

Got a great deal on a 6 dive plus accommodation package and they were quick to respond to online inquiries. The dive shop is a short 2 minute walk down the road. Accommodation is basic and small but very clean. Big drying rack, fridge, safe and rooms made up daily.(Only criticism is to go easy on the air-freshener. The crystals were a bit like mothballs. I just put them outside and it was fine.)
The staff were lovely. The eating area is quite large and popular with travellers from other accommodation for meals and/or breakfast. Breakfast and quality of the food in general was good. Loved the museli and fruit. Made such a welcome change. Loved also that you could do water refills instead of constantly buying more bottles. One of the first places i have seen in Asia to think green! My son enjoyed the pool table which is there for customers use.
We were well looked after at the dive shop and enjoyed most of the sites we visited.
The accommodation is one block back from the beach and central. This is great to be able to rent a scooter if you wish or take in different spots to eat and hang out. A pool would be good at the property but you have Quo Vadis right next door who do have beach frontage(for some rooms) and you can swim in their pool which is lovely, for a small fee.
Would recommend for management to consider the mural by the pool table. Whilst I quite liked the artwork and do not consider myself a prude, the language gave the art a different context. Might be appropriate for a bar but personally I found it a bit over the top and some of it offensive. Not at all appropriate for my 11 yr old son. Not easy to miss either being right by the pool table. Interestingly enough I didn't make any comment to him about it but he volunteered feedback expressing he thought it was also pretty full on. It is in an eating area and it coloured my first impressions of the accommodation. I wondered what sort of place I had come to. Maybe a good topic for further public commentary and debate ?! Thankfully the initial bad impression was my last. Thanks to the staff for a great stay.

They will definitely be able to provide transfers. I can't comment on the price. I took mini van bus from Cebu- one of the bus stations and then got a tricycle from the main road to the resort. Just email them. My experience is that they are very reasonable in their prices: diving, food and accommodation- so I imagine their transfers would also be reasonably priced. Leah
