We checked in for 1 night in HK Beach Resort located in White Beach of Moalboal Cebu. We were supposed to go to Panagsama Beach but the tricycle driver sent us to White Beach and we don't have a choice but to look for a room around the place. There's a better resort near HK but quite expensive (around Php 3000+/night) and the other option is to look for a room with common CR that cost around Php 850. The best option in White Beach is HK Resort which cost Php 1500/night. White beach has a lot of dogs, they poop and pee everywhere and if you're lucky enough, you can step on their poops. They offered a boat tour to Marine Sanctuary which cost Php 1200 and we just found out that it is located in Panagsama Beach.

ROOM
- Bed is normal
- Pillow is bad
- Bed linens smells bad
- Blanket is thin
- No TV
- Aircon is hot
- Broken bulb
- Plenty of Ants

COMFORT ROOM
- Ordinary CR
- broken flush
- No hot shower (the water is freaking cold)
- Toiletries (1 roll of tissue and 1 bar of soap)
- No exhaust (just window)

LOCATION
- Beach Front
- With Restaurant but expensive (1meal per person is around Php 175)

OVER-ALL EXPERIENCE:
Not good for Php 1500. Just go to Panagsama Beach and look for a better room which may cost lower that Php 1500. If you love snorkelling, Panagsama Beach is the best option. Just rent a tricycle rather than boat going to Panagsama or White Beach.

Travel from Cebu City to Moalboal will take 3hrs. You can ride a van from City Link with a sign of Moalboal. You can ask the driver to drop you off to Moalboal, and from there you need to ride a habal habal(motorcycle) or a tricycle to reach HK Resort.

The cheapest room is for Php1500 for an overnight stay which is an old nipa room, very affordable compared to the high class resort nearby. It's an air-con room however there is no television or warm water, you don't need it anyway if you want to just relax and feel the ambiance. There is also an option to stay on the newly built rooms however it cost a minimum of Php2000.
The restaurant closes early so it is advisable that you bring your own food, you can use the grill and there is a 24hr mini store inside the resort which only have limited food and drinks.
The staff were very nice and accommodating,so you can approach them anytime especially the security guard if you have questions.

Moalboal is best for island hoping, snorkeling and scuba diving. The sand is fine and white.
Aside from the beaches you can also do a side trip going to Kawasan Falls which is an hour from Moalboal.

Get the Lumpia. Best in the area.

We were staying near the dive centers in Moalboal and decide to go see White Beach.

In addition to paying for a tricycle , there was a fee to get in to White Beach (~20 pesos pp), then another to get past HK Beach Resort (~60 pesos pp), so we decided to stop here to eat. There were 4 tables seated when we walked in, and none had food or drinks. We waited about 15 minutes to order, but only ordered lumpia because we wanted something quick at that point.

Lumpia ended up being really good and service picked up a little bit. There weren't a lot of other nearby options.

The beach was small and OK, but unimpressive compared to many of the other PI beaches; however it has sand which those near the dive shops don't.

Let me start off on the beach since it's the only thing worth bragging about the place. Perf white sand beach and clear water. The accommodation, the staff and well, everything else need A LOT of improving to do. We checked in an expensive room but expectations were not met. No cable, NO WIFI, and most the time, NO WATER! wow. We wanted to ask the staff for assistance but we had a hard time looking for one. There's no way of telling who's who in that place. Seems like their staff is on vacation themselves. No proper parking place. We just stayed for one night and left the next day. It was really bad.

Pros:
-Just in front of the white beach
-Free use of cottage in the beach.
-Can cook
-Room has good A/C. They provide towel, tissue and soap (still don't know if this is a good thing though).
-Accessible drinking water supply. You can also buy the whole gallon just ask the caretakers.
-Caretakers are all good people they even let us stay until afternoon the next day without extra charge. They listen to all your complaints and try to help you as much as they can.

Cons:
-Pillows are ordinary and hard. Blanket is small and can only fit one person.
-Hotel restaurant closes at 6pm so if you want some midnight snack just buy beforehand at the public market.

Over-all, for its price range it is a good hotel. P1500/night.

I enjoyed my stay here. We intended on going on another resort but due to their staff "idiocy" we stumbled upon this really peaceful haven.

HK resort is a wonderful place to stay if you want something peaceful. The staff here are great. They will accommodate guests who want to dine late even though its almost closing.

The courteous staff are a mirror to the owner. ^^

1. High Priced. Room quality does not match with the price. Manager said that the water budget of the room is P200 per head (Wot?!). For their public CR, P20 for shower and P15 for others. Imagine 1 min in CR is worth P15.
2. Manager does not know how to handle customers. You can feel that he has a superiority complex and bad attitude. I don't understand why is he even qualified.
3. In order to put up a tent in front of their resort, you need to rent a cottage worth P600 overnight. What the?!

If you don't want to ruin your stay in Moalboal, don't select this resort. You'll just be irritated instead of relaxed.

we stayed in HK resort for one night and for a P1,500/night room, it's all okay. There are no other amenities like a tv set or free breakfast, but we had a comfortable stay. If you love the sea, the sun, and white sands but don't care for a five-star accomodation, this is definitely for you.

something to do with their staff especially on the restaurant and videoke girls, they were so strict and have bad manners. We went their last monday and it's very dissapointing. They murmur in front of us about us ordering to them which I think is a good thing because they can earn from us.The girl waiter even slam tables and chairs and murmur in our presence about a glass that we accidentally broke which we are willing to pay for it.They really are not accomodating. They got angry about us being noisy even though they put a videoke sign on it though we only talk and laugh,we haven't got to sing because they lock the door and got annoyed with us entering the resto for the reason that we want to buy something. When you order for a drink they give it to you in a slam way.I'm not talking about "customer is always right",it's something about how they treat their customers.Very unprofessional! We use to travel everywhere but it's the first time that we've been treated so badly. When you ask something they answer you in a hard tone very unwilling to serve. We also have business but we never treated our customers that way.We ended up going home early because of their attitude.

Don't expect too much when it comes to the rooms. The reason that we choose this resort, was at that time this was the most budget friendly. The beach front area is average, you have to walk to the right away from the resort where the sandbar is much wider. There's a ridge a few meters from the beach, so be careful if you don't know how to swim. Best part is you can snorkel right there near the beach, you can already see corals and some fish.
