Sumisid Lodge is a small and homely diver’s accommodation. The front patio of the lodge connects with the dive center. The venue is the center of Panagsama beach where you will find a variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The front of the lodge faces Negros straight and offers a pretty sun downer. There is a very casual ‘make yourself at home’ kind of feeling to the lodge. Meals are buffet style and if guest join for dinner than all the guest dine at the same time. The cook here has a reputation to excel when it comes to local favorites. Meals are served in the lounge/sitting area and usually guests take their plate and eat on the outside patio. The Dive center is adjacent of the lodge… it doesn’t get easier than this. While you’re having breakfast the dive center staff is preparing your dive gear and you can watch them doing it. A no-nonsense accommodation; this is how it is; this is how we do it and we do it right! If you’re here to dive, then you’ve come to the right place.

The staff here is nice, and location is in front of public beach. However, I didn't have a great experience with the owner, Egbert Jan Schaap. I asked if I could pay with my credit card but was told to do a BPI account payment instead. I had coordinated this payment with my family member in Manila. The staff had also confirmed my payment was received into the account# they provided. However, the owner still wanted me to show an actual screenshot of the BPI receipt on my final night. The result was three separate verbal confirmations of my BPI payment by his front desk staff yet I myself was never given an actual receipt from Sumisid Lodge. I suspect the owner was hoping I didn't have a screenshot of the BPI bank receipt so he could try and double charge me. Overall, this just left a negative impression on me. The fact that BPI payments are instantly sent into another account, and also he himself could verify exact payment amount received and time of deposit himself - and even his staff had confirmed this three times to me. And I was not even given an official receipt from Sumisid Lodge before leaving. Just something to be aware off...

Even that we had the superior room, it was very very small. No place for the luggages. Very noisy. The staff seem board of working. Never kind or smiling. The lodge is in front of the public beach. So it is very crowdy. Midnight party until 2:00 AMNot so great when you are diving at 6h00 the next day. We had the breakfast included : it take 30 minutes to be served even if we are 2. Once it arrive 2 cold toats, coffee and a spoon of jam. The next two days we didn’t had our breakfast at the lodge. After 2 days we had to ask the room service to make the room. Lazy staff! We don’t recommande this place.

The location is nice but lots of boats all day directly in the snorkeling area, really dangerous. The staff is the worst we met in 3 months around asia. No hello, no thank you, no smile, nothing... we had the sensation to disturb them. Our room were directly in reception area with 6 girls from the staff doing nothing and talking and playing very loudly. What a deluxe room... The price is quite expensive and when you want to refill your bottle you have to pay 35 pesos!!! More expensive than a new one in a shop. Very good to save plastic. For information it s free in all the hotels in philippines. More the have a dive shop and it was exactly the same atmosphere. Don t go to sumisid you will lose your money. Some hotel need to close sometimes

Average hotel on nice beach. Pros: probably the best beach spot in Moalboal, you can see sardine run there. Cons: uncomfortable room, no window in the room, noisy aircon, average service. They refused to change wet beach towels, saying they change once per 3 days. First time in my life experience.

I stayed here while I was getting my open water dive certification and was quite happy. You could choose a few different options for the breakfast that was included, and the food was good. The view was great and the customer service was quite good. Plus, there is a small beach right in front of the property and a bar next door.

This should be the best accommodation along Panagsama Beach. It has its own sandy beach just right in front of the lodge. Enjoyed our morning breakfast with the excellent sea view. Room is simple and clean. Staff excellent. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in Moalboal many times but none of the hotels I previously used were available so chose this one based on it's location, right in the centre of Panagsama. I can't understand the comments about service and overcharging as our experience was completely the opposite. When we arrived , the young lady on reception was expecting us, helped us with our luggage, helped with parking, allowed me to take my mountain bike in to the hotel, she and another lady helped us heating our baby's food, served a great fresh cooked breakfast ( included in the price of the room ) on the lovely terrace that overlooks the beach and wouldn't take money...I swam from the hotel beach and saw a large sea turtle within 50 metres of the hotel, you can also see the sardine ball...functional wifi wherever you are in the hotel. We will stay here again....

The accommodation itself and the location is good, but the staff and the service they provide is VERY POOR. They (the whole staff crew) give you the feeling to bother them. Even a normal "good morning" was too much for them. We can not recommend this accommodation.
