This is the BEST place I’ve stayed at for a vacation, and I meant THE BEST.

From the first day of arrival after a long drive from Cebu city, we were greeted by Ravenala’s lovely team. The beach bungalow was clean and the staff already turned on the A/C to welcome us. I love the bamboo furniture (bed frame and chairs), very eco friendly. The climate was actually really nice, the sea breeze at night was cooling enough that we didn’t need the AC at all. I’ve had some of the best sleep at Ravenala, with the sound of the waves in the background, I slept like a baby.

Shoutout to Maria and all the lovely staff who tended to our needs, from dining to booking taxi or tuk tuk, gave honest advice on prices and made sure we were not overcharged. She always addressed us by our name and made us feel like part of the family. I insisted on hugging Maria at the end of our trip and genuinely felt sad that we had to leave.

Breakfast was yummy. There was a selection of continental or Filipino breakfast with eggs, hams, sausages, bacon, toast, jam, butter, fresh fruit, juice and free flow of brewed coffee.

Dinner option was great too. We enjoyed the serene atmosphere so much that we chose to avoid the crowded Panagsama and ate onsite every night. The staff will come take your order for dinner in the afternoon and adjust according to your schedule.

From the beach bungalow, it is only less than 50m to the shore of White beach, which is clean and stunning. My partner and I could swim on our own out to the reefs within 100m to shore and spotted more than 10 turtles in just one swim. There were sardine runs too. Throughout our stay, we snorkelled and free dive 2-3 times everyday.

We love the place so much that we regretted booking only 3 nights.

Ravenala, we will be back 🥰

You arrive thinking where am I going to end up? Really a warm welcome and a great nice place, friendly people. We had booked a “cottage” by the sea. Really top place. Grandiose beautiful view. Only we arrived on Sunday. The beach is public so the locals come to the beach with whole families go BBQ and make music (read a lot of noise) we have booked 7 nights here and think no huh. But the next day Monday everything else. Nobody the whole beach for us🙏🏻 so Saturday and Sunday it is busier. The location is really great. And the snorkeling on the doorstep. Coral reef so beautiful and the turtles amazing. The breakfast is really super and the people so incredibly friendly. Nothing is too much or too crazy. They'll take care of everything for you as long as you're having fun. The cottages are slightly dated but clean. We would book this again. So recommended. However, renting a scooter means you can go anywhere. Oh yeah, you can dine here too.

We stayed here for 9 nights in a comfortable ocean facing bungalow (#7) which was about 50 ft from the water with groomed tropical gardens and white sand beach between our private patio and the water. Our room was basic as depicted in their photos but everything worked well,a comfortable king size bed, good air con, a safe, intermittent internet access that was adequate for our needs, and most nights were so quiet we often slept for 10 hours. On the first day we had a couple of special requests to make our room what we wanted and the staff zipped around to make them happen. One day Maria even arranged for the 10 minute tropical rain storm that I requested!

We booked here for the snorkelling and were pleased with the good variety of undamaged corals, lots of tropical fish, and the pleasant surprise of finding the reef wall so close to our beach access. It was a delight to swim with 5 turtles of different sizes and colourings during our days there. The grounds and the white sand beach were groomed every day by Ravenala staff.

We found the Panagsama beach area in the unofficial town of Moalboal to be too crowded, congested, and noisy for our taste; we much preferred the tropical oasis of Ravenala so we ate most of our meals 'at home'. There are many delicious international choices that pleased the many repeat and long term guests and us. We enjoyed several off-menu Filipino dishes just by requesting them. Everyone loved their breakfasts beginning with the fresh fruit platters followed by a choice from several Filipino or Continental offerings - probably the best bacon in the world! Everything was always served with smiles and warm greetings. All the staff is excellent.

It might be good for you to know that you don't have to worry about figuring out how much cash you need to bring with you (as you do at some other resorts in the Philippines). You don't need to be handling money all the time here, all your food and drinks will be put onto your account, you get a detailed itemized bill at the end which you can pay by Visa. Maria does a masterful job of tabulating all this for you.

We had a good time and are taking lots of great memories home with us.

This is an expensive hotel. From ll the reviews, comfortable and satisfactory for stay-in guests.
It has a pleasant restaurant and seemingly a good kitchen and chef.

However it has a terrible policy towards diners in the restaurant.

Unless you are a stay-in guest you are told the lie that it is fully booked despite the fact that the place is almost devoid of diners and there are many tables that have not been set for dinner.
When challenged, the staff tell you that they will not serve "walk ins" after 4pm despite the fact that they have hard cash in their pockets to pay for a meal at whatever it costs.
Or that all meals are prepared to earlier instruction and the kitchen is too busy to produce two more meals.
Further enquiry elicits the true answer, that they will not serve you unless you are a sta-in guest under any circumstances. Odd behaviour for a business.

People staying in this area of White Beach where there are very few places to dine should be aware of this. The alternatives are very expensive restaurants in resorts, Dolphin Resort, and Club Serena Resort, or limited availability and bad food in the HK Resort who do not care a jot whether you eat or not.

We loved this place. The people were amazing, the service was excellent and we loved the beach area and the ambiance. A small, secluded family style resort that we were able to sit and have a conversation while the staff brought us coffee, tea, water and food. We were completely relaxed the whole time. As a person who travels many times per year, my experience here was one of the best. Mostly because of the staff. They were outstanding. I’ve stayed at some of the most expensive places in the USA, and the service here blew those 5 star expensive resorts away. I would stay here again. It’s nice to be around personable, friendly people who are committed to making your stay comfortable. Thank you Teresita and your wonderful staff! ♥️♥️

I enjoyed my stay here so much! The foliage on the grounds is gorgeous and the environment is very peaceful. The resort section of the beach isn't crowded and is pretty clean. They also have chairs and kayaks.

The staff will help you coordinate activities if you are interested and the food is great! I enjoyed eating/relaxing in their thatched roof pavilion when I didn't want to be in the sun.

Ben, Maria and everyone else, thank you for the best stay and for becoming our friends!!
Love,
Paul, Maria, Hanna and Kaya

A very special stay; a lovely small and intimate setting right on the beach. Excellent service, thanks Neb, Marie, and Terracita: you and the rest of the staff made our trip really memorable and we hope to be back in the future. The bungalows were extremely comfortable, the food was DELICIOUS, the reef as well was in really good condition, and so easy to access.

Staff is top-notch! Lovely ladies are always smiling, helpful and awesome. Everyone was amazing.

Room is big, clean, and facing the ocean ( stayed at room #1) I loved to wake up and see the blue sea
Away from the busy town center. Always quiet and has breeze of fresh air from the sea.
You can rent a scooter and tour the area but you'll be very happy to come back to this peaceful heaven.
On the beach!

Wifi could be better...

The positives; great location steps off the beach, super nice staff, good curry dinner and decent breakfast.
The negative; room dark, needs refurbishment and painting, improved lighting, was dated with a hostel feel. Bathroom moldy, exposed electrical wiring, unclean. The whole property feels dated, as if it has had better days. We stayed two nights of the original four scheduled, then moved to a different venue .
We were told by the staff that this was the best room at the hotel. In all fairness we met a couple from Germany who has been going there for 31 years and seemed very happy with the facility.
