If you want a great vacation for diving you can't beat Magic Island. Great resort and dive experience. It is a small intimate experience. I have been diving since 1979 and haven't had a better experience. There were 12 of us traveling and diving together. I would highly recommend this experience.

I have been travelling and diving around the world for more than 10 yrs. I am a dive instructor trainer and dive center owner in Turkey. Magic Island Dive Resort was one of my best experiences! Manager Concheng, dive center manager Jamie, JaJa and all others were excellent. Kind, fun, helping and always around! They will take good care of you during your stay here... Excellent kitchen, clean rooms and very good room service. Nice pool, cosy bar and beautiful coral beach. Diving is also great here. Nice boat, top quality, good serviced equipment and great guides, Mavar, Dennis and Jason! Guys I hope to see you all again one day! Readers of this review: do not hasitate to book your reservation!!!

We were on a trip organized by Snorkel Ventures. We had a great time at Magic Island. The staff were very friendly and knew everyone by first name in no time. The snorkelling was very good. Jamie and his dive team were excellent. The guides did a great job at pointing out various marine life for us. In particular we want to thank DeLoy who was especially helpful in the water with my wife Margo and I. The food was very good, the accommodation excellent, and we even had some great live music on our last night. Thanks again to all at Magic Island.

My buddy Pete and i spent 8 days at this resort in October. What a nice little gem in the middle of the Philippines! The staff was excellent, warm and friendly! Food was very good and plentiful. The dive master (Manny) was really good, very friendly and helpful. Head of dive operations not so much.... The owners were on hand and very friendly as well. Everyone makes you feel at home. Cottages small but clean and efficient. The reefs here were beautiful, healthy and FULL of life. The long boats took you out to very close reefs for diving. Very calm waters with less currents and easy diving. Lots of varieties of small fish. The day diving with the whale sharks was truly awesome and a once in a lifetime experience! Just fantastic.Took the rickshaw ride (very fast and adventurous) into town to the market to see the lovely locals. Overall a great experience!

Magic Islands is a unique resort, small yet very well suited to support international tourists with all their SCUBA diving needs. There is an in-house dive center that is equipped with everything from Nitrox, to nice banka boats to any rental gear you could possibly need, an on-site restaurant that serves delicious meals, a swimming pool, sunbathing terrace, and even a massage area for those after-diving days when you want to relax and enjoy life a bit more. Ten cottages are surrounded by beautiful gardens and there is an ocean front looking out to a prime diving site where turtles are often seen. A short boat ride away is Pescadore Island, one of the top diving spots in the Cebu Island region, a place filled with many types of corals, colorful fish, and so much marine life that you will want to spend the whole day diving while you are there. Not a diver? Not a problem! The hotel staff can set you up with plenty of land adventures from waterfalls tours to mountain hikes to snorkling with whale sharks and so much more. The best part of staying at Magic Island is getting to know their friendly staff - they are warm and sincere, treating you like family and always trying to maximize your travel experience while you are there. Magical vacations indeed!

Good friendly resort with excellent individual huts for accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Nice pool. Decent wifi. Food just fine. Very friendly and helpful staff. Could not have been more welcoming. Diving was great. Good varied reefs. Resort dive masters were terrific guides. Our day in Oslob swimming with whale sharks was unforgettable. Inexpensive. Drinks/cocktails most reasonable prices.

This was our second stay here and the hospitality was just as excellent. This time we came as part of a group of 14 and within a day the staff knew all of our names. They even remembered my husband and I from a visit nearly five years ago. The organisation and service was excellent. We didn’t arrive until 9pm and the staff served us a freshly cooked dinner. All of the food for all of the meals was excellent. The rooms have got everything you need. The bathroom is tiny, but adequate. Body wash and shampoo are provided. The bed and pillows are firm. The diving was very well organised and the guides took us to a lot of the local dive sites including Pescador Island which we dived four times. The longest boat ride was about 20 minutes away. If the water is deep enough the boats can get right up to the dive centre. In shallow water you have to walk out to the boat so good dive boots are essential as one of our group slipped off a rock and ended up with sea urchin spines going through the sole of his boot into his foot. Ouch. Most of the dives are wall dives. We were lucky enough to have a Whaleshark join us at the sardine bait ball. That doesn’t happen very often so we really were lucky. The water temperature was 28 at depth, warmer on the surface. We both completed our 1000th dive while we were here and they presented us both with lovely laminated certificates, and a lovely cake at dinner time for us all to share. Our last night was 31st October and once again the staff excelled themselves with a Hallowe’en display and scary cakes. They also gave us all a present of a mug with a group photo on. Such a lovely surprise. The two local musicians were great to listen to and to sing along to. it was a really lovely final evening.Thank you all the staff for making our trip so special! We did 18 dives here and if you’d like to see the types of marine life here then check out my YouTube channel ‘Gerry Green Diving - Diving the Philippines from Moalboal and Dauin'. Thanks Jamie and alll the staff at Magic Island for such a great stay!

Magic Island Dive resort was a great choice for our stay at the end of September 2019. A bit of a pain to get to but once there the long travel time from the USA was worth it. We flew from the west coast to Taipei, then to Cebu. From there we were greeted by our shuttle van driver for a 3 hour drive in traffic that to us was insane. Half the population owns a motor bike. It seemed that one out of 10 businesses along the route were motor bike repair or sales businesses. It was a wild ride to the ferry terminal. Cars, truck, motor bike weaving in and out just inches from one another. There were lane markings on the streets but nobody seemed to pay any attention to them. One would have to be crazy to rent a car and drive any place, while there in the Philippines. We checked our luggage in at the counter in the ferry terminal and waited. Then the announcement was made and what seemed like hundreds of people tried to get the double doors that opened to the dock. Magic Island resorts really have their stuff together. We had business class seating. POSH. We entered the hatchway on the boat and the attended waved us up the stairway to our seats, which were very comfy. The seas were flat and the boat flew across water at a very high speed. It was so smooth that one could nap a bit. Upon arrival at the ferry terminal on the island we were staying at, we picked up our luggage which was an experience in itself, no airport type carousel. Half the boat load of people trying to see then grab the luggage as in the off loaded by hand by the crew. Then off to find our next shuttle driver for the 2 hour trip to the resort. This trip was not quit as crazy as the first one was. Upon arrival we were greeted, checked in and ushered to our bungalow. The accommodations were nice. The room was clean and modest. No TV or phone. The bathroom was small two people could not be in there at one time. The grounds were well manicured. The rock walls were works of art. Wish I could do that in our yards back home. The staff was very friendly and by the second day had you name memorized and would address you by your first name. The restaurant was open air. The food was very good, plentiful and varied. They served more than you could eat. We had come to do some scuba diving so we went to the dive center the first day of arrival, to introduce ourselves, sign the standard releases and drop off our dive gear. The next morning we got up went to breakfast, got into our dive suits and went to the dive center. The boats left at 8:30 each day. The boat rides to the dive sites were really short 15 - 20 minutes was the longest. The boats were a strange configuration that we had never seen in our travels around the world. A long narrow skiff with outriggers on both sides. They also had a head on them. The waters were flat on almost all our dives. The water temperature, at depth, was 84 – 86F. So toasty, that I did not ever wear any rubber the whole time there. I just wore a Lycia type suit for protection from accidently brushing against things on the dives. Our dive master the whole time there was Manuel. I learned latter he had been there a long time. That proved out in that he found and pointed out to us things that we would have never seen. He was good to say the least. The boat crew was good also. Fresh fruit, coffee, tea and water were served during our surface interval between dives. The boats also went out in the afternoons if you wanted to dive some more. The VIS on all our dives was very good at 75’ +. I rate VIS by what I can clearly see. Not, there is an object that is fuzzy and I’m guessing it’s a…… therefore VIS is…… . In summary, if you can handle the journey getting there and back home it is an outstanding vacation/dive destination. Relaxing. Magic Resorts has all the loose ends covered for you. A very good operation. 5 stars all the way.

After a great weekend staying in Singapore, we went to Magic Island. This resort has great and helpful staff that take good care of you. If you need or want anything, just ask. The boat dives are normally max 25 min out, and the house reef has enough to offer for day and night dives. Don’t forget to do a manderinfish dive if you have the chance.. We had great time staying here. Great food, great cottages, nice pool, internet... what more do you need? And if you have the time, combine this resort with the other resort Magic Oceans, for other scenery and dives.
