Detailed Reviews
Stayed here 3 nights ended up extending to 6 nights.
Pros
Overall excellent value for money given the location
The location of this hotel is flawless. Steps literally lead directly into the ocean. Also far enough away from noisy bars in the town despite walkable into the main area.
Managed to see sea turtles and plenty of fish when snorkelling at the hotel.
Great swimming pool regularly cleaned
Both AC and a fan in the room which meant you could have the less noisy fan in at night.
Deluxe sea view definitely worth the extra compared to the garden view rooms
Useful to be able to rent equipment for snorkelling and diving from the dive centre.
Cons
Garden view rooms near the road and therefore can be noisy in weekends if you are a light sleeper. We asked to be moved due
to noisy guests and ended up having to pay for the upgrade, not the end of the world despite it not being our fault.
Bathrooms were very basic and needed updating, pretty unsightly and smelly although you do get what you pay for.
The restaurant wasn’t great - ate there twice and then gave up after they delivered a cheese and garlic sandwiches instead of a cheese salad and claimed it was our mistake. Good very poor quality in the restaurant.
Breakfast was expensive. Much better off going down to the french bistro up the road. Cheaper and better quality.
Restaurant staff can be rude

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay. At first, were a little bit underwhelmed with the room and bathroom (very basic/simple compared to some of the other places we'd stayed on the trip), but we ended up loving the hotel and were so glad we chose it. It’s almost certainly the nicest hotel along that strip/area, by a lot. The grounds are lovely, with a pool, awesome location, amazing snorkeling out front, great facilities with a dive center, restaurant, pool, lounge chairs, direct water access, and sea view from our room. We were so glad we chose to stay here. Also the snorkeling out front of the hotel was fabulous -- saw tons of turtles, and also swam over to the sardine run, which was a really unique experience. Service was great too, and we enjoyed many meals in the restaurant overlooking the water. We also made friends with a resident doggie on premises, who would sometimes wait outside our room for us in the morning. It was adorable. An excellent stay all-around.

Quo Vadis run a very professional dive shop, all the equipment has its place and it's very well looked after.
The owner John is very attentive to all guests coming through the door and helped us decide what dives to do in the short time we had, plus offered some other local tips.
The two dive masters we dived with were both very young, and at times a little bit too attentive - constantly wanting us to swim super close to each other and at the same level - I understand safety first, but it wasn't as relaxing experience as it could have been.
On the sardines run we were always watching them from few meters below, which wasn't quite the immersive experience we wanted. Then our safety stop was in the middle of nothing. Shame, considering that was the main reason for our second dive.

On our last day we went on a tour that was supposed to get us back by 11:45am (checkout is at 12pm). We let the front desk know of our schedule just in case our tour ran late and we got back a little after 12pm. The front desk lady told us it would be no problem so we went on our tour. We got back exactly at 11:45am and were relieved we had gotten back with just enough time for a quick shower before checkout. However, when we got out of our tour guide car, the front desk lady told us that the hotel room had already been cleaned and we would need to checkout even though we still had 15min left. She stood by the room door to make sure we didn’t touch anything and made us checkout immediately. We had to resort to showering in the outdoor showers. The staff here doesn’t provide any kind of customer service or accommodations and the hotel itself doesn’t warrant the star rating. Its a hostel type set up where they give you one sheet and only provide shampoos in little packets. It’s also about a 20min walk to all the restaurants and dive shops. At the end of the day, it provided us a place to stay, but I would recommend staying at a different resort if possible.

Dear Lovebug2. After making an investigation and several inquiry's with our staff, It's interesting to discover the real truth about your stay and how your much your story goes apart from our staff. And they remember you well.. On your day of departure you where checking out early, before going on your morning tour, and you left your luggage for free storage in our luggage storage room. When a guest is checking out from the resort, the room is naturally being cleaned and prepared for the next guest. You arrive back to the resort at 1 pm ( 12 pm is mandatory check out time) and demand to have access to your old room. Our reception, politely and correctly, told you that you are checked out and that the room is already prepared for next guest.. However by then you and your friend are sneaking inside the unlocked room anyway and are laying down in bed for another two hours, watching TV. When the new guest arrive at 3 pm you and your friend are still in bed and our arriving guest has to wait while you angrily depart and our housekeeping are cleaning the room and changing bed sheets for the second time that day. I cant understand what is motivating you to make up such a fake story but it is truly embarrassing to first read a complaint like yours and then find out the truth about how terribly wrong you have behaved. I can only hope that you will learn something from this one and do better on your next stay - somewhere far far away..

+1
The aircon at their most expensive room (Premier Suite) is not strong enough. We closed all the doors and windows and left the aircon running the entire afternoon. When we came back, the room was still not cold enough. One could still comfortably sleep at that room at night without using a blanket.
We ate at their restaurant three times. The food was just okay, nothing remarkable. The staff were helpful and seemed dedicated and grateful for their jobs.
We enjoyed swimming at the pool at night because the water was lukewarm and we had the whole pool to ourselves. The best part of our stay was the balcony at the Premier Suite.
When I first tried booking a room, I called their number after 8pm and a security guard answered the phone. He said there's usually no one at the front desk past 8pm which I thought was odd for a resort. He said he'll contact the manager and he'll just contact me. I was never contacted. So I just booked online instead.
When we got to Moalboal, I completely understood the lack of staff manning the front desk at the resort at night. There were very few guests due to the pandemic. A lot of resorts and businesses at Moalboal were closed.

We stayed for a week at Quo Vadis. Partner is a diver, I am not, however completed a discovery dive with the dive resort on site and had a great experience. Aaron was our instructor and he was absolutely brilliant. Very professional and safety was his absolute priority. He ensured I felt comfortable during the dive and took time to ensure I had understood basic skills before we went out to sea.
Rooms are nice, we had a little bungalow and was cleaned each day to a good standard. Wifi quite slow and shower not amazing but didnt cause us any issues.
Breakfast buffet was hit and miss. Sometimes nice and a variety, often mostly meat and quite a lot of flies when you dont get there at 7am when it opens. Food ordered from menu is nice and reasonably priced.
Great location; would stay again.

Stayed 4 nights in Feb 2020 with my husband. This place has its own house coral reef which when you swim out even for a few seconds, you see big turtles swimming, gliding, eating coral, chilling. We snorkelled twice a day each day and saw at least one wild turtle on every snorkel trip! The water is so clear and there is so much marine life - we saw coral, big fish, tiny fish, sea snakes, turtles, sardines.
The restaurant food is good. The ladies working there were really careful with my food as I am allergic to gluten and milk. I ate delicious breakfast, lunches and dinners there every day. Gluten free potato rosti for breakfast was tasty!
Rooms have air con and a fan with comfy bed. Would have given it 5 stars if the shower was working (man fixed it for us on 2nd day - he was a trooper, thank you), if we had floor towels as other rooms had (day 3 we got those) and if there was a TV. Appreciate you're not in moalboal for TV but still.
Would absolutely return and cannot explain how unique this place is for its access to marine life!

The dive shop is very well organized and the equipment is in good condition. The dive masters were very focused on safety (especially managing all the different level of divers) and in small groups (we usually dove in groups of 3 and one day in a group of 5). Pescador Island and the Sardine runs are an absolutely must although we enjoyed all the dives. Our dive master was great at pointing out the unique underwater creatures. The bio diversity here is fabulous. John, the dive centre manager, was also great at answering our questions and seems very knowledgeable.
For the hotel, we stayed in the Bungalow Seaside. It is setup exactly as the photos show in the website. It is a very clean, nice, quiet three star hotel. The grounds are very well maintained. There is a security guard at night who also helps guests with who checking in/out overnight.
The restaurant is uninspired and plagued by the sound of elevator music during the evenings. I am not sure who likes that music other than the deaf. But don't worry, there are many great restaurants within easy walking distance 5-10 minutes away.
Overall a really lovely dive resort.

Quo Vadis is a solid resort by divers and for divers.
Right on the world famous Moalboal reefs, with the Sardine run and Pescadore island. The staff and micro culture of Quo Vadis was so kind and chill. From John the manager, to my divemasters Ishmael, and Arnel, hotel staff April and Melanie, and even the guard Vince.
I am experienced diver and everything was arranged perfectly. I recommend spending a tiny bit more and just having your own divemaster that way you can take your dives at your own pace and are not rushed / cut short by a group. The prices are so affordable that with a divemaster it is less than a group dive most anywhere in the world
The room was clean and the AC worked great. The WiFi was weak but I didn't come for the WiFi! The restaurant was fine and again the staff simply could not have been more kind and helpful.
